The National Lottery would like to know who you would like to pay tribute to on Mother's Day.

Working with the charity Home-Start, The National Lottery gave one incredible Mum the surprise of a life time to thank her for the difference she’s made to so many.

Watch the video below or click here to watch it.

So we want to ask you, is there someone special that you’d like to thank on Mother’s Day? It may, of course, be your own Mum, it could be an aunt or a neighbour. Whoever it is, we’d love to hear a bit about what made them so special to you Smile.

Everyone who adds their thoughts to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

My own mum

nicctaylor · 19/03/2015 19:08

I know mother in laws sometimes get stick for interfering but mine is the opposite. I dont have my mum around and she has been like a mum to me so I say thank you for everything.

janemphoto · 19/03/2015 20:26

It has to be my grandmother - a very strong woman who always stood by what she thought was right. Getting a degree at a time when it was not common for women to have higher education and having a wonderful relationship with my grandfather, a marriage that lasted over 50 years, has always been a great inspiration for me.

My Mum - She's had a tough year with health problems of her own and my Gran. Even with all that she has been super helpful with my wedding in April and also now with my pregnancy. She really is brilliant.

aurorablues · 19/03/2015 20:30

My Mum, because she is always there for me, and she beamed when i gave her her flowers, chocolate and wine :)

cookinmummy · 19/03/2015 21:39

My dear Mum! We speak on the phone every day and the poor woman has to listen to me witter on about all sorts - she totally deserves a medal! x

diammondgirlz2013 · 19/03/2015 22:02

My nanna as she raised me, showed me love and taught me all the things my mother should have done, even though my mum was in my life she didn't and still doesn't show any love.... So am hugely thankful to my nanna

webkin · 19/03/2015 22:14

My mum.

Everyone's Mum is special. Everybody believes their mum is the best mum in the world. This is true. My mum is the best in the world to me. From bringing me into the world, taking me to school when I was a child and taking care of my bumps and bruises; tending my war wounds, scrapes and cuts - kissing it all better and telling me things are going to be alright...all the way to now as an adult where she supports me with her advice, her encouragement but most of all her love. And this is what makes her special to me. She has a special place in my heart and always will do.

If she were alive, it would be my own mother but she died 16 years ago. However, there is a lady in our village, who is also a friend at church, and I always look to her for advice - she is so lovely. Pat is about 85 years old, has 7 children of her own and over 25 grandchildren. Her and her husband, Gordon, are really family-orientated and strong pillars of the community. You can talk to her about anything and she gives gentle advice - if you have done something that you feel ashamed about or is wrong, Pat may chide you, but always in love and kindness. She is generous with her time, and looks out for the "elderly" in the church, which always makes me smile. As my two eldest children have grown up, she has supported them too - my daughter cleaned for her once a week, doing odd-jobs around the house and my son has been gardening for them for the past 18 months - tackling jobs that they are a little too frail to cope with. Pat is very sprightly and is often seen waiting to catch a bus or walking along to the local supermarket, or out with their gorgeous Schnauzer, Boris. I can honestly say I love Pat and if I could offer the same love, kindness, generosity and caring nature to someone as Pat has to me, it would all be down to what she has taught me.

It has to be my mum. Totally unappreciated for everything she has done for us three and her six grandchildren. Going through some health issues but still puts everyone else first. She is a beautiful lady inside and out.

I'd like to thank my incredible Mum - she has been an absolute rock throughout my life, but never more so than after my son was born. I struggled hugely in the weeks & months after his birth & had horrendous PND. My Mum was amazing & stood by me every step of the way - helping me to bond with my gorgeous baby boy, doing a night shift so I could get some sleep & bringing me biscuits during the 2am feed! My lovely Mum lost her own Mum early this year so this Mother's Day was an odd one for her. Thanks Mum - you are one in a million & I don't know what I would do without you! :)

Aunty Dot. I was fostered from 5 until 18 and was with Dot for 8 of those last years. Have never met a kinder, more loving and selfless person

fluffyblueberry · 19/03/2015 23:28

My own mother! She's been so supportive to me all my life, I couldn't ask for more. She is also so dedicated to my two boys. My elder son has autism & she looks after my two boys once a week so that we can have a bit of a break and have some time just to be a married couple, which has been so important and valuable to us. She always wants to help us out however she can.

compy99 · 19/03/2015 23:51

I would like to thank my late Mother-in-Law. A very special lady, who I loved very much, she was so kind and lovely, a real family person, who I miss very much indeed. I am very lucky to have had her as my Mother-in-Law (my Father-in-Law was just a special too!) I miss them both so very much.

superkittycat · 20/03/2015 07:44

I would like to thank my Mum for always being there for me & supporting me in everything that I do. She is my rock & I don't know what I'd do without her. I'm not normally the soppy type but this year I tried to express my thanks for everything she does in her Mother's Day card, it made her cry, then she read it to my Nan & she cried & then I cried because everyone else was lol!

TiggersAngel7774 · 20/03/2015 07:45

Id like to thank my mother in law for all the help and advice she gave when my son was a baby. Everytime i asked my own mother all i got was she cant remember or she was too busy. It was hard the early days with my son and i dont know how i would of gotten through without her

aligiraffe · 20/03/2015 08:19

My neighbour who is always there when I need someone to watch my son & a person to talk things over with when I need advice. She also is a whiz at grabbing bargains at the Supermarket & regularly brings carrier bags of produce over which we can freeze.

roar349 · 20/03/2015 08:42

My other half. She's had a tough time the last couple of years with womb issues, the preferable solution looks like it's not viable due to the scarring from 2 C-Sections, so it's either put up with the heavy bleeding (and subsequent energy loss from lack of iron, the solution to which seems to have a whole other set of side effects) or a hysterectomy. At least they've ruled out cancer though.

All this while looking after the kids and working. She could do with something nice to give her a lift.

My Mummy –

I came into the world, just last year,
With great joy and many a tear.
For eight months now, I have grown
With many a cry, and a little moan.

I have thrown my food in every direction.
While Mummy looks for any protection.
My collection of nappies is growing fast.
But will my hobby ever last?

I sleep at any time I choose.
When I awake, Mum’s having a snooze!
She has large bags under her eyes,
Looking after me, it’s no surprise!

My mummy has seen this every day,
Yet her love has never gone astray.
I wish I could repay her everlasting love.
Maybe ‘Some Love2Shop vouchers' can answer the above?

Lots of Love
Baby Kirsty Dunlop

My own Mom always, but all my Mommy friends who had their babies around the same time as myself... It's so great knowing everyone is going through the same thing - particularity through challenging times

chriskeenan86 · 20/03/2015 11:55

I'd like to thank my partner and mother to my little boy. She constantly puts his needs before her own and, even though things haven't been easy, hasn't moaned once. We're both lucky boys to have her in our lives.

monty79 · 20/03/2015 16:26

My mum she has always been there for me through good times and bad.

chrriss · 20/03/2015 16:44
