With Christmas almost here, we’d like to you to share how you’ll be using Netflix with your family over the festive season.

Will you put a film on while you are wrapping your presents? Maybe you’ll be using Netflix to help the kids settle down before bed on Christmas Eve - after all the excitement over the arrival of Santa! Or perhaps you’ll choose a family favourite that everyone can watch together after Christmas dinner?

We’d also love to know what devices your family uses to watch Netflix. Do your kids tend to watch the iPad? Perhaps you and DP snuggle in bed watching on your laptop? Or maybe you use your smart TV when everyone is together as family. Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it!

Netflix has a selection of family titles, including hit movies like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Brave and Monsters Inc, as well as festive films like Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas, Scrooged and The Search for Santa Paws.

Everyone who comments below about how they think they will use Netflix over the holidays will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win an iPad mini and a 6 month subscription to Netflix.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

We don't have normal tv... So Netflix is our go-to for all of our viewing needs.

Would love to have some more up to date musicals and good Xmas films this year!

I like to have an Xmas eve movie night with 5 year old Dd, some popcorn and snuggly blankets. Some 'Miracle On 34th St' or similar would be great! not so subtle hint

Sat around my Mum's Smart TV trying to find something that everyone wants to watch I expect.

andywedge · 03/12/2014 03:11

With the kids being off school / nursery and I have a bit of time off work I plan on sitting down and having some family time watching some Christmas movies together

plastigffantastig · 03/12/2014 04:08

We don't have a TV so we'll be using Netflix to watch films on the desktop computer in the living room - and doubtlessly on laptops / the ipad too.

inspiron42 · 03/12/2014 05:34

We dont have Netflix at the moment.

bringans · 03/12/2014 05:53

We only just got it, so are just learning our way around it, the reason we got it was for xmas :), so it will be used a lot, with movies for everyone.

janeyf1 · 03/12/2014 06:17

Would use Netflix to watch family friendly Christmas themed films and shows during the day but would look forward to some quality me time when she goes to bed so I can watch Scandal and House of Lies instead!

thewomaninwhite · 03/12/2014 06:29

We watch on the laptop. Definitely a festive film whilst wrapping pressies.

rodders470 · 03/12/2014 06:35

We'll probably have a binge session on breaking bad

misty64 · 03/12/2014 06:35

we will be using it on our smart tv, snuggling up to watch some festive films

renas · 03/12/2014 06:45

I don't have Netflix but would make sure the family would watch it.

pusinky · 03/12/2014 06:48

We'll be watching The Hunger Games

samosh22 · 03/12/2014 06:52

Watching TV programs on the laptop

rainbowvalley · 03/12/2014 06:55

Watching movies on Smart TV from their great selection (no iPad) or I would find it very useful for watching movies on the go or when travelling!

Happyjad · 03/12/2014 07:02

I have no iPad so I will be using Netflix on my Smart TV at home which will solve a few arguments about what films to watch and as an alternative to the traditional films which get repeated every year!

TracyKNixon · 03/12/2014 07:11

We'll be having family movie nights in together !

slh5kids · 03/12/2014 07:38

right now we are using netflix to allow my daughter who has just moved to leeds for university, to watch current tv/films at a cheap cost whilst also benefiting from it with the other children at home, the multi login feature is very welcome allowing multiple users to log in no matter where they are. Over christmas it will allow for far less arguments as each bedroom can have a different programme on to allow me to cook the dinner/clean up in peace.

glowgirl · 03/12/2014 07:44

We will all be watching in the living room together on our main tv, with loads of food and drink :)

maryandbuzz1 · 03/12/2014 07:47

The best time for Netflix is after Christmas lunch and on Boxing Day. Snuggling down after all the hard work is done to slob out in front of a good film.

Ganne · 03/12/2014 07:54

I shall be looking for old classics, and avoiding anything with the words "Christmas" or "Carol" in the title ... apart from the Muppets, of course

el321 · 03/12/2014 08:03

keeping everyone out of the kitchen!!!!

marcc82 · 03/12/2014 08:07

Don't use it

Lindsaym1983 · 03/12/2014 08:09

We will all be watching Christmas films all day on netflix on ps3 all day on Xmas eve while having a lazy pj day eating chocolates

MimiJoy · 03/12/2014 08:23

We'll be watching it avidly around Christmas to catch up on our favourite programmes/films - there's so much rubbish on TV at this time of year!

jojopo · 03/12/2014 08:24

We will be watching lots of lovely Christmas films
