Share how you’ll be using Netflix with your family this Christmas and you could win an iPad mini NOW CLOSED

With Christmas almost here, we’d like to you to share how you’ll be using Netflix with your family over the festive season.

Will you put a film on while you are wrapping your presents? Maybe you’ll be using Netflix to help the kids settle down before bed on Christmas Eve - after all the excitement over the arrival of Santa! Or perhaps you’ll choose a family favourite that everyone can watch together after Christmas dinner?

We’d also love to know what devices your family uses to watch Netflix. Do your kids tend to watch the iPad? Perhaps you and DP snuggle in bed watching on your laptop? Or maybe you use your smart TV when everyone is together as family. Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it!

Netflix has a selection of family titles, including hit movies like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Brave and Monsters Inc, as well as festive films like Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas, Scrooged and The Search for Santa Paws.

Everyone who comments below about how they think they will use Netflix over the holidays will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win an iPad mini and a 6 month subscription to Netflix.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Christmas films with the grandchildren while the mums and dads are out shopping, love to snuggle up and enjoy their company this way. We have a laptop and tv but as it's time to together it's easier on the TV. x

I think over Christmas we'll play a selection of Christmas-themed films and programs while opening presents and cooking lunch, can't have a quiet house at all during the holidays! And save the one we like the most to watch in the evening together on the smart TV.

We currently have Netflix and watch it on the smart TV, xbox one, our mobile phones and iPad.

poojij4 · 03/12/2014 11:43

i will watch movies with family

Tikkabillajive · 03/12/2014 11:47

We tend to use Netflix on the ipad if the kids need a bit of quiet time. We were in France last week and were delighted to realise that Netflix still worked while we were there.

I also like having a film on on the ipad if I am cooking or doing jobs about the house.

We all love the Blue Planet so we would be watching those x

After the hectic Christmas day,we spend the Boxing day in Pj's and we let our Dd's have control of netflix,so no doubt it will be reruns of Spongebob.

masterofyou2 · 03/12/2014 12:05

I plan to get the mother-in-law hooked on House of Cards in the afternoon . . . it's the only way I can get her to stop criticizing the icing on my Christmas cake!

GenericDietCola · 03/12/2014 12:18

We love Netflix! DD and I have a Saturday afternoon tradition of snuggling under a blanket to watch a festive film while DS is having a nap. I'm sure we'll be watching plenty of movies over the holidays as this year we'll be away as a family and will make time to gather together and watch something heart-warming on Christmas eve.

I'll be using Netflix on my phone to watch something other than the endless soaps my family like to watch. Would be even better if I had an iPad!

bonners1 · 03/12/2014 13:24

We watch so much on Netflix, have it through the playstion in the living room, especially box sets, loads of choice, so we will all be sitting down in the evenings to watch a film or one of the great series on box set :)

bonhomme · 03/12/2014 13:25

We will be watching Christmas films together as a family.

abhivirtara · 03/12/2014 13:26

We are officially a netflix family !!! We (the mum and dad) watch all our favourite Netflix shows and movies on our big screen family TV, our son who is 7 loves to watch a multitude of interesting kids movies and programs on the smart TV and our daughter, 5, is hooked on LegoFriends (the only 3 episodes available on Netflix which she watches on unlimited repeat and sometimes other girlie shows) and watches this on my Kindle Fire. This is a once a week treat for us a family (and time controlled for kids) so everybody gets to watch that they love !!

In addition, on most Sunday afternoons, we all snuggle in for a matinee movie on netflix with popcorn, snacks and the works !! Love Love Love netflix

During Christmas, we look forward to many more of the matinee snuggle in Christmas movie times and the kids would be treated by sometime to watch their favourite shows. We have different profiles set up so we are always sure that the kids have access to relevant material only.
