To celebrate the launch of the new Vodafone family price plan - Red+ - we have developed a new fun quiz to find out what kind of sharent you are!

What’s a sharent we hear you say…well it’s all about your attitude to sharing photos and updates of your DC online. Are you shary-savvy, a Shary Mary, shary-wary – or totes off the grid?
Take the short quiz now to find out

Vodafone say “For some parents, the internet can seem like a bit of minefield and with new technology emerging all the time, it can be hard to stay up to date. If that sounds like you, worry not. Vodafone has put together some guides and articles to help parents maintain control and keep the family safe – find out more here
Vodafone has also launched a new plan, designed specifically for families. Red+ gives you one data allowance to share and you can even cap your kids’ data so they don't go over their limit. You'll get one simple bill for all devices, saving you money compared to individual plans, and you'll also get unlimited calls and texts”

Find out more at vodafone.co.uk/redplus.

Please take a few minutes to do the quiz and return to this thread to post your sharenting result – let Vodafone know on this thread what it is and what you think and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £250 John Lewis voucher.

The Vodafone Digital Parenting Guide can be found here: www.vodafone.co.uk/family

Thanks and good luck

i'm share-savvy which sounds about right for me!

Uzma01 · 29/08/2014 14:28

I'm share-savvy apparently.

xxxkadzxxx · 29/08/2014 14:37

I am the share-y wary!
I think the description sums me up 100%! I am very weary when it comes to technology where my children are concerned. I do keep on eye on them and make sure they are ok. Its not that i dont trust them, its that i dont trust others online and i know how how nieve kiddies can be! I also worry a little about how easily accessible naughty things are online these days! I'm not that into social media, i have it and check up on my friends quite often but i dont post things myself or share pictures. I am quite private where things like this are concerned. I have all the pictures on the wall at home and on my phone instead! :)

Maddaddam · 29/08/2014 16:52

I'm share-savvy. Probably about right.

Squina1 · 29/08/2014 17:11

I'm share savvy, which is pretty accurate. I do like to share stuff on Facebook, but try not to bore people with photo overload!

tinam1 · 29/08/2014 18:10

share-savvy here too.

alison991 · 29/08/2014 18:25

You are share-savvy

I think that is quite accurate, I don't like to share too much

HappyMum4 · 29/08/2014 18:39

What is your sharenting style?
You are off the grid

Social sharing? If people want to hear your family's news they can call you. On your land-line.

I'm quite happy with that, I think with all the smartphones and electronic devices out there, access to social media, applications and Internet linked information is so easy it becomes very addictive very easily, it's like an e-drug or I-drug, I don't want my family to be that family that spends more time with a gadget than each other, and I think in the future we'll look back with sadness at the loss of what we used to have.

ZenasSuitcases · 29/08/2014 19:01

I'm a share-y marey! Yeah!

fluffyblueberry · 29/08/2014 19:12

it said I'm share-savvy -- I do share photos, no and then. However, I rarely ever update my status, I can't understand the constant approval/attention people seek via facebook, I find it incredibly irritating actually. :/ x

embabes7 · 29/08/2014 20:02

share-savvy... I reckon that's about right!!!

mamof3boys · 29/08/2014 21:47

I am share-savvy which sounds about right. I share some photos and info on social media but am quite careful. My children aren't old enough for Facebook yet but I do feel that parents need to keep up with technology so they are aware of what their child is up to.

Tonkatol · 29/08/2014 21:59

I'm share-savvy. I have to confess I do use technology quite a lot but try to instill a sense of wariness with my children. I have three children in their late teens (15, 17 & 19) and then an 8 year old and I have to be careful with what access the youngest has in relation to the older children. With the older three, they all have smart phones and facebook, but have to allow me to be on their "friends" list. I don't embarrass them by posting things on their walls, but do like to keep an eye on what they are doing. My youngest child is keen to be up with the others - she does have a tablet, but I monitor the apps she has and restrict her usage. It amazes me that friends of her own age already have mobile phones or i-pods with "face-time" - although my daughter sees her siblings using facebook, there is no way I would let her have any type of "messaging" until she is much older.

fairyprincess79 · 29/08/2014 22:03

Share-y Mary - sounds about right!

TiggersAngel7774 · 29/08/2014 22:17

You are share-y wary

Smith84 · 29/08/2014 22:17

You are share-savvy

Whilst you’re not adverse to a bit of online boasting, you remain a leetle bit sceptical about sharing too much. In fact, you pride yourself on being pretty up-to-the-minute with your online safety knowledge, and you make sure you pass this on to your kids.

Coddfish · 29/08/2014 22:26

I'm share-savvy. I agree with that actually.

Luckymum87 · 29/08/2014 23:04

You are share-savvy

Spot on for me I don't mind sharing some things on Facebook but don't feel I need constant recognition of my posts. Some people post every few minutes which drives me insane!

slbhill42 · 29/08/2014 23:11

share-savvy apparently.

eveylikesv · 29/08/2014 23:18

Lol:You are off the grid. I would like l am in my 80s. [Grin]

igu04366 · 30/08/2014 00:11

I am 'share-y wary'. I think this is true to an extent in that I am quit aware of what I post on Facebook and how secure it is. I don't like sharing my whole life with my Facebook friends and tend not to. However, I do think that I am quite savvy about social media and use it daily.

fazkin · 30/08/2014 09:07

Share savvy me :)

tishist · 30/08/2014 09:53

I got 'You are off the grid'. I'm proud!

VickyRsuperstar · 30/08/2014 10:29

I'm a shary-wary apparently! I'm not that wary, but I am careful with privacy settings and make sure everything is suitable before posting! I am not happy with how much the children can access from a smartphone though! It's really hard to keep track of everything.
