With summer in full swing, Netflix have asked us to find out how MNers plan to fit a Netflix Moment into summer family plans this year.

Netflix have a dedicated section for kids and family entertainment, including TV shows like Horrid Henry, iCarly and Spongebob Squarepants and movies such as Tangled, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Lilo & Stitch. Learn more at the Netflix Kids section. Netflix is available anywhere in the UK with Wi-Fi, on numerous devices with Wi-Fi, including mobiles, tablets, TVs and games consoles.

You can see how other MNers are using Netflix with their families this summer here.

So, how do you think you’ll be using Netflix over the summer holidays to entertain your family and enjoy time together? Are your DCs winding down by watching their favourite show after a big day out? Are the grandparents and kids bonding over a shared love for Toy Story 3? Is Netflix providing some much-needed respite on a rainy day? What else has been keeping your children happy in the holidays? Whatever it is, Netflix would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

My husband watches it in his cab when fares are slow some nights, particularly over the summer months when everyone seems to be on holiday.

BigGapMum · 28/08/2014 09:00

We don't do Netflix, or watch DVD's that often as we don't seem to find the time, but we really enjoy the occasional family film event when we all sit down together with popcorn and drinks and make an event of it.

I've never looked into using Netflix before but keep hearing more and more good things. I am thinking I am going to have to have a look. My boys love nothing more than a good film.

In the car on long journeys to our holiday, the tablets with Netflix for the children really make the journey better for everyone. No fighting in the back or "are we here yet"

embabes7 · 29/08/2014 05:53

We hardly ever get to sit down as a family and watch something together with all our schedules being so different! This would give us a great opportunity for some family time!

Watching Make it or Break It with my teenage daughter. Our guilty pleasure.

luijo · 29/08/2014 16:50

I don't have Netflix but my mum does, and she has been helping to entertain my children through the holidays. She said Netflix is a godsend on rainy days. Other than watching TV we have been on a couple of cheap days out on the train (as I booked in advance), and had a weekend break in London.

did you say NETFLIXS, I can't really remember our life without it.
My daughter who is 4 and a half and starts school in September adores Netflixs, she is a huge fan of Horrid Henry and to be honest so am I now.
Since the summer holidays, we have watched Tangled so many times to the point of me asking my daughter for a update when I had to leave the TV to make the dinner or go to the toilet.
Anyway Netflixs is a great way to bond with your children watching all the great kids films and cartoons that they have to offer.
Just one tip, don't let them catch a glimpse of Breaking Bad as they will go to Nursery saying "I watched Breaking Bad on Netflix's."

grannybiker · 30/08/2014 14:27

Can be really useful fro entertaining bored youngsters during long journeys, and regulating how much viewing they're doing. No longer are we tied to TV schedules!

marshgirl · 30/08/2014 15:16

Lazy days and rainy days are perfect for watching a few films. If all else fails then we can always find a family movies or Disney film to enjoy as a family.

BoysWillGrow · 30/08/2014 15:36

For us today is a netflix Spongebob marathon day

balloon66 · 30/08/2014 16:38

We don't have it so it's a real treat for the kids when they visit grandma. They love the films

mwatmough · 30/08/2014 16:43

We do not have netflix

chunkychocky · 30/08/2014 18:05

The kids have been keeping themselves entertained watching Horrid Henry on Netflix when it has been too wet to play outside.

vincent81 · 30/08/2014 20:18

I've been enjoying Orange is the New Black after everyone else has been sent to bed. Bliss.

cluckyhen · 30/08/2014 23:04

My kids have actually stayed away from Netflix over the holidays. They have spent their time playing video games together without any arguements, which is rare. I think maybe it is as we have just moved and they only have each other. I, on the other hand, have settled for Orange is the New Black to chill out on an evening!

TiggersAngel7774 · 30/08/2014 23:11
