With summer in full swing, Netflix have asked us to find out how MNers plan to fit a Netflix Moment into summer family plans this year.

Netflix have a dedicated section for kids and family entertainment, including TV shows like Horrid Henry, iCarly and Spongebob Squarepants and movies such as Tangled, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Lilo & Stitch. Learn more at the Netflix Kids section. Netflix is available anywhere in the UK with Wi-Fi, on numerous devices with Wi-Fi, including mobiles, tablets, TVs and games consoles.

You can see how other MNers are using Netflix with their families this summer here.

So, how do you think you’ll be using Netflix over the summer holidays to entertain your family and enjoy time together? Are your DCs winding down by watching their favourite show after a big day out? Are the grandparents and kids bonding over a shared love for Toy Story 3? Is Netflix providing some much-needed respite on a rainy day? What else has been keeping your children happy in the holidays? Whatever it is, Netflix would love to hear about it.

Everyone who posts on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

I probably shouldn't admit this on here but my 3DC (even the 19 month old) are completely obsessed with Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. They know most of the words to the film and would happily watch it every day!
I have really enjoyed special bonding time with DD watching movies while she's been on school holidays as we rarely get the time to do things like that together.

We've been catching up on some series we have missed and also enjoying some of the blockbuster films, like Avengers, which we haven't seen yet!

CeramicUnicorns · 13/08/2014 14:19

We love Tangled! On a rainy day, all tucked up on the sofa with blankets, all singing along together. Bliss :)

spiroo · 13/08/2014 18:39

Horrid Henry is funny to watching :D

plantsitter · 13/08/2014 18:48

Our summer Netflix Moment is happening as I type as the kids watch bubble guppies on loop and I mumsnet on the sofa next to them. Ah, togetherness.

My husband is looking after our children 3 days a week and they have enjoyed some great times on rainy afternoons watching Toy Story and Madagascar. It's been a talking point for my son and his friends as they compare notes on the films they have seen - note that he is 4!!

Tangled has kept my daughter entertained for the rainy days we have had, I think it mat be time to see if we can get her to watch something else tomorrow. x

Dottyhols · 14/08/2014 22:34

Putting some thing in to keep the kids in one place so I can find our house again x

pepicola3 · 15/08/2014 13:48

Love any excuse to curl up in front of a good kids movie

keshimonster · 15/08/2014 22:46

Babysitting my cousins children tomorrow and will be relying on the Netlix Disney films available for a pre-bedtime movie :)

Netflix on the iPad was a godsend on the 8 hour ferry to Ireland this summer. Our 6 year old watched Tangled and Spongebob while we snoozed!

mrshumphreyjr · 16/08/2014 19:26

Will be watching a lot of the classic children's movies, and reminiscing about the first time I saw them. ??

maciv234 · 16/08/2014 20:03

a film night at the weekend for the family to watch , and crisps popcorn to go

headsy12 · 16/08/2014 20:15

We like to gather round and watch a movie just before bedtime, it helps quiet the kids down.

StampyIsMyBoyfriend · 16/08/2014 20:22

DS (5) has taken to running a big bath, setting up his kindle fire, and watching pokemon while playing with his fleet of boats.

Best of all, he's discovered Rugrats! So I get to relive my youth with Tommy, Chuckie & Angelica Grin

clairew111 · 16/08/2014 21:14

After a day out it's good to relax. Watching old films that son hasn't yet seen.

angiehoggett · 16/08/2014 21:29

Family movie nights are a must, we have a baking day to bake treats especially so we can enjoy our fave movies on Netflix at the end of the day

HannahLI · 16/08/2014 23:07

I love the choice and variety it gives me and that I can find something for any mood my kids are in from movies to mini-series, real life to cartoons. We have been snuggling down on tired afternoons with my two boys, and its great to be able to let them choose.

ydimbleby · 16/08/2014 23:48

My grandson loves anything with Steve Backshall, it's the perfect way to help settle him down after another manic day!

KittyKat88 · 17/08/2014 08:12

It's perfect for family time and Toy Story is a firm favourite in our house. Meanwhile us adults get to enjoy the brilliant Orange is the New Black once the kids have gone to bed. I also love that you can watch on tablets or game devices too!

kelandab · 17/08/2014 09:51

We've just signed up for a free months trial so ill be settling the kids down to watch a movie whist I get on and do some housework & on rainy days, we can all watch a movie together

scrapaddict · 17/08/2014 10:04

Lots of outdoor trips - spent 5 hours at Bockett's farm recently - excellent day out. Book trail in London - exciting and free. Then watching SOME TV The Lorax and secrets of Numh

upsydaisyd0nt · 17/08/2014 14:29

My two Daughters love the 'Little Princess' series. In fact all the children's series are ideal as they take turns to skip through loads of episodes to pick their favourites.

Ree977 · 17/08/2014 15:04

Came in very handy for toddler when on holiday earlier this month. Was able to keep him occupied during the rainy periods.

greig23 · 17/08/2014 21:14
