Yh new claim
forms received 29th oct
because he was a baby that’s had to come home on oxygen and wasn’t 3 months until end of dec I’ve been awarded HRC for 18 months from 2nd Jan
decision was made on Wednesday
hes under the respiratory consultant and needs loads of follow up appointments so think the award time is based on the outcome of these appointments and to give time for results xx

3amazinkids · 30/01/2026 13:02

How do you know it’s with a decision maker? I updated UC yesterday too, child was verified about 30mins later but I’ve put a note in my journal today, they won’t say if it’s with a dm or how long it’ll take! I 1st told UC on the 20th but dla mustn’t have received notice of award from the court so had to go to jobcentre with paperwork! I made my claim 19mth ago and only just been awarded, I’m getting impatient now

3amazinkids · 30/01/2026 13:10

@Tirednamechange I’m sure last time mine took about 2.5wks after being verified

BoatyMcBoatBoat · 30/01/2026 13:20

vikiking · 30/01/2026 11:16

crazy that scan dates after mine are getting decisions... ugh😬

I think this is a hot take on here but for recent claims that's always going to happen to a certain extent. The claims go on to a queue, are allocated in batches and naturally vary in complexity and quality of evidence. It's hard not to read into the status of your own claim because of it (me here convinced I'll receive a letter with a rejection hahaha) but it isn't a reflection or your own claim.

This does fall down with the MR backlog though. The above makes sense for new claims. It doesn't make sense for the MRs which have been waiting 6-7 months. Whatever is happening there is unacceptable.

Yeah I'm the same, keep thinking I'll receive a rejection letter and dread the post coming haha.

I completely agree with you on MRs though, it's 100% not acceptable.

We sent off our renewal claims Saturday and I got a text to say they had been received yesterday and said they will sort it before the claim is due to end beginning of April.

Tirednamechange · 30/01/2026 16:10

Updated my UC yesterday and left a message about backpack but nothing yet. We dont have a work coach as no commitments, plus decision was only made yesterday morning. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Ah I’ve had nothing at all to say it’s with a decision maker and like I said, I left a message in my journal and they said they couldn’t tell me 😔 let me know when u get your payment, I think mine might take a while though as they have 19mths worth to work out and backdate

MyJoyousEagle · 30/01/2026 17:42

Our Renewal is due Early March too! We sent ours off two days after receiving the documents in October! it's a horrible wait..
I had the same response too, to wait until a few days before!

Any updates on end of feb/March renewals?:)

Hi,

I've been lurking first time replying 😂

My daughters renewal ends March 3rd. They received the forms I sent back 18th November.

I got back pay of 657 yesterday. im assuming she has gone up from middle rate care Lrm as she turned 5 in November. Not brave enough to call just waiting for letter. Does any one know how long the letter takes after payment?
Thanks 😊

MrsBoo8888 · 30/01/2026 19:29

Facebook post - 8 days for an MR? She's not happy she doesn't understand why they rushed it

-‐

My child was declined in November, asked for MR in December, sent extra evidence/reports in January and it took 8 days for them to look at our MR and decline again… I called and the guy was shocked it was looked at in 8 days, asked if it was an end of life case. -it’s not just a normal one.

I feel like they haven’t even looked at the extra info sent in as I see people are still waiting from July for their MR to be looked at. Anyone had this before?
