Hi. NC
So I initially called to start on the 2/12/26
I received this text 15/1/26
I know it’s only been 1 week but my anxiety is through the roof! also how do I find out a SD? is it too soon for me to ring them?

@ThisCheekyOliveDuckif you received a letter it should say on there we received your claim on… whatever date xx

OneSparklyGreyCat · 22/01/2026 09:46

Just phoned DLA. It’s not even with a decision maker yet unfortunately 😔. Really hoping that it will be soon. I have seen a post in facebook group of someone with the same scan date as mine so was hopeful that it will not be too long.

If you don’t mind me asking, When did you do your claim??

I feel like a pest if I call them l. I got the text last week. I’m so anxious i just want to know what’s what. I’ve seen people’s posts about being paid before they even get letters, other say they had the letters but no pay
I don’t know what to do and my mental health is struggling. I’m wondering if it’s even worth the extra anxiety right now

My SD is 17/12. I know it’s still a bit early but seeing that post makes me really hopeful that it is near and panic at the same time if our claim has been rejected.

I’m not very bright but I’m confused about this whole scan date thing. Do I found it as the date I got the text? Or do I call
i need someone to say “do this” “do that” I’m terrible at things like this my anxiety takes over

They also sent me a text like yours on 16/12. I don’t think that’s the scan date. It’s just a confirmation from them saying they have the forms but not necessarily scanned it yet. I received a letter by post 2 weeks after, dated 17/12 saying they are dealing with the claim. That is the scan date.

Your scan date is actually the 16/12 because thats the date they text you and that means it was scanned onto the system. X

Thank you for your response and kind words, I’m definitely going to fight it and take it to the tribunal. When they said they had made a decision I felt relief that I had finally got somewhere until they told me the decision and all the stress and worry from the first time was back again, it’s draining but I’m not giving up x

Hi, does anybody know the address to send in extra info please?

Emsychap · 22/01/2026 10:34

Anyone had uc backdate approved this week? If so when was it sent for backdate? I keep seeing peoples taking a few days or a week and it’s frustrating. And all they say is no time frames

Can I just ask (if you know)
I got my text the day after it arrived on royal mail tracking.
But when I spoke to an adviser they said it had been received but not logged. Is logged and scanned not the same thing?

If you had a text to say they had recieved your forms. This will be your scan date from my experience. They dont always tell you the correct information (i know from my own experience). X

When you called what did you say to them? My anxiety is bad today, I was on hold
to them but cut off because I didn’t know what to say to them without sounding stupid or wasting time

I received the same text on 31/12/2025, and assumed that this was my scan date. Received a letter from them this week and the letter says it was scanned on to the system 30/12/2025. So the text was one day late. Hope this helps. When I made a claim for my other son last year I didn’t get any text updates at all and waited 4 weeks for the initial “we’ve received your claim” letter 🙈 they seem to be working through claims a lot quicker than this time last year.

The lady I spoke to was nice. I simply just asked if a decision had been made yet

NC SD 22/12

I can't bring myself to call either - we had a call on 05/01 advising it was with a case manager. I know I'll find out with time, but DS 8 is on a reduced timetable of 1.5hrs a day right now and I'm at my wits end trying to juggle work / taking unpaid hours and making sure he doesn't fall behind educationally.

I know they're working through NCs quickly at the moment, I just didn't think waiting would take nearly as much of my mental bandwidth as it has been. Can't imagine how hard it has been for those on MR since July etc. :/
