The other people before you had their decision made on dead on 30 weeks or the day before so there is no reason why they shouldn’t have made the decision. Good luck whenever you do call.

It only went to the DM yesterday which was 30 weeks on the dot, so not sure how long it then stays with them

Hi anyone in late April waiting for MR ?

im still waiting MR 09/04

I'm just going to call every Friday and not expect anything until 30 weeks which will be the 2nd of December and just hope it isn’t any longer because of Christmas holidays😬 Your 4 weeks before me so hopefully you hear by the end of this month🤞🏽 X

I feel like that, it always seems pointless calling because they just say the same thing all the time. I will be 28 weeks on Tuesday so I will call again then but then I won’t be calling until 30 weeks because of half term and I will have to watch my daughter constantly 🙄

There’s a lot that go to dm at 30 weeks and the decision is made that day but in a way it might be a good thing if they haven’t made the decision because maybe it’s gone to the medical team to make a fair decision? Or they may have made it quicker because it’s only for mobility?

Emzi538 · 16/10/2025 14:06

Its super frustrating decided calling today as have new med report... will ask for update whilst I'm on call but I think will be told to call if we get to 30 weeks... we are 22wks 2moro

I'd prefer it to go to a medical person, atleast then I know it might be fair and it won't just be skimmed over and them decide after just flicking through it. I'm going to leave it till tomorrow and then call at 4 when I finish work, if they haven't made a decision I'll leave it till a week on Monday as it's half term. So worried they will change his care to middle as well

Thanks for the update. Do not understand why i was told it will take longer. There has to be some truth to it.
So stupid when all we get is fobbed off. Mine was still in a holding que on monday. Might ring tomorrow and see if that has changed.
Im a really impatient person and hate waiting. Just hope my twins get the award they deserve.
Hope your twins get the award they deserve too! Hope you hear something soon, keep me informed and i will you!

Thats what I've waited, pretty much 7 months, its so frustrating when others have waited 4 months

Harrysmummy2016 · 16/10/2025 16:52

@Curlycookie5 I gave in and called again 😂 still no update, still with a DM, I did argue with them again, some of them are so rude

Sorry only just catching up, that may be a good thing that they are reading through it properly and if they are considering HRM it’s probably gone to the medical team? When you filled out the form did you tick for just mobility? They shouldn’t look at the care side of it if you didn’t tick care.

Its ok. Yeah, I'm happy for them to take their time and go through it and refer if needed. I argued because she told me they didn't know when it got sent to a DM! So I said, well thats not the truth because the lady I spoke to yesterday, told me it went to one yesterday, she didn't know what to say, I again asked how long a DM has to make a decision, but she very rudely said they don't give them a timescale for COC's because whilst they decide, nothing happens to our payments, which just riled me up even further, because it's got nothing to do with payments! Our children deserve the same whether the are new, renewal, COC or MR, I don't think I can ring again, I'll probably get blacklisted!

We must have had spoken to the same lady ! I spoke to this particular advisor a few times and each time she stated 'you'll be backdated, don't worry" or "you still get money while you wait". It's so patronising especially when ive had to explain numerous times that having an award isn't for financial gain, it's for the child to use for their needs!

Lissac86 · 17/10/2025 01:31

Hi everyone, i done a coc in march and got declined his award stayed he same, so im doing a mr. I saw a post on here if you get evidence in within 4 weeks u haven't got to wait another 30 weeks for a decision, is this actually a thing?

Mumofthree1989 · 17/10/2025 09:13

I’m just going to stop ringing now and accept that it’s not going to be picked up until early December.

You are right, it is patronising and rude, they think its extra money but it's not, its so we can support the child having additional needs and helping them with what they need!
I don't understand why they have that option 4, they don't tell you anything. Have you had your decision? I'm struggling to keep up with where everyone is x

Yes read out to me on the phone that he's staying on the same rate. But when I asked her to read me the evidence list, it seems some are missing.. so I asked for a manager to call me back to discuss this in detail as I suspect the decision was made without lots of the evidence. Still waiting for a letter 😑

Hi all an update reconsideration declined and stopped his money all together can’t stop crying xx

Muvva1981 · 17/10/2025 10:53

Good morning all :)

I am currently awaiting a renewal decision for my 5yr old son . He currently receives MRC and his current award ends 8th November. This is my first renewal.
I received a letter confirming they received the renewal on the 9th July so we re currently 13 weeks into the wait. A month later I sent additonal information ( an amended ehcp as we won a appeal for my son to go to a wonderful special school which he starts 10th Nov) They confirmed this had been recevied also as there was a lot of updated relevant information in relation to his care.

I know he will get LRM added to the new award as he turned 5 at the end of August,

I am, if I may admit, getting very anxious. He has 1 more dla payment due on Tuesday from his current award then thats it. I know wait times vary from one person to the next and Im currently on my second call attempt atm to see if there is an update. I had to hang up a few moments ago (after i had got through to an agent) as his new school was calling.

Is anyone still waiting with a similar time for renewal submitted?

OMG what!!! What the hell?? Seriously, who are these bloody decision makers!
I know you must be feeling so heartbroken and defeated but please push on ahead with an appeal and try to gather as much evidence as you can. The way they are treating families in need is unforgivable!
