This honestly confuses me so much, I don't understand how they can get away with all of those different dates and leaving others to just wait without any kind of update, its just a joke.
I was 30 weeks yesterday and it went to a DM yesterday, but I'm worried that they will just reject it because they ran out of time to look at it properly. I asked how long it can be with a DM and she said they can't give a timeline, but someone else told me once its with one, they can say when they have till to give you a decision

i haven’t even received one letter to say how long wait times will be, I’ve only called a couple times to see if they received my evidence as I’m in Scotland and you put your evidence in online, not everyone is on Facebook or on here to know things are taking longer so a bit of a joke that they don’t give you proper updates either. Fingers crossed you get awarded after waiting all the full 30 weeks time and more, when it’s with the decision maker it would be good if they gave you a text so you would know to wait on a letter or money going in the bank. When I done my little ones NC last year I got a text saying our team is reviewing your claim and they’ll send a letter, a week later a decision was made so hoping it’s the same this time round. It’s a hard one for when they will make a decision as they may need to contact people and wait on them getting back to them and I think someone mentioned that when doing mobility they send it to a medical team so good knows how long it could take but hopefully not much longer for you. I’m normally pretty patient with these sort of things as what will be will be and I don’t like to get my hopes up but the dates are all over the place X

original scan date 11th January. MR scan date 27th may. Unfortunately due to no fault of mine DLA lost all my daughters original evidence and declined in may due to lack of evidence. Completely unfair as we have waited a further 20 weeks with no clear view of the finish line:( it makes me so angry that so many children are missing out on support they desperately need. My daughter is 2.5 with additional needs I have sent them sooo much evidence! Portage support letter. Sleep consult report, paediatric report, proof of inhalers (blue and brown) hearing report, melatonin prescription proof, I have also made them aware of my daughters nursery have decided after 3 weeks of her starting to apply for EHCP with the local authority SEN practitioner support. She’s on reduced nursery hours 1.5 hour a week for one day because the cannot safely support her. OT home visit has provided a specialist bath seat and also currently writing a report as they do not think our current living situation is suitable for our child’s needs. Along with also my own statement. It’s extremely messy and clearly all over the place process and we get no clear answers. Every call handler I’ve ever spoken to gives me a different story. I hope for all of our children’s sakes we hear sooner rather than later! Personally I think keeping a vulnerable child waiting without necessary support for 40 weeks is criminal !🫠😴

COC SD 3/4 - just called to check for first time and its still waiting to be assigned to someone. Lovely lady I spoke to, she said it hopefully won’t be much longer 🤷‍♀️

I think dm take a few files at a time so could still be poss two week wait :-/
But everyone is speaking to tells you different things!
Last call handler i spoke 2 last week told me not to call again til after 30 weeks but likely will be nearer 40 weeks! And that its royal mail who scanned all evidence etc ... who knows they need a online system so we can check without the calls we all have enough to manage without chasing for what our children are entitled to

I did think it could be a couple of weeks, the wait continues.
You definitely get told different things by different people and it is so frustrating. I've spoken to some really nice people who have said call as much as you like, and then others who are rude and say we can't tell you anything, we'll send you a text

LoudAquaViper · 16/10/2025 10:53

I called up again this morning and still not with anyone. I explained that due to my stress and anxiety this is causing I spoke to my local MP who said I can escalate the case because I’ve waited longer than 25 weeks. The lady said she will mark his claim as first? Anyone know what this means?

Hi anyone in late April waiting for MR ?

Mines 2nd April, still waiting, still not with a DM either.

Mumof1xox · 16/10/2025 11:08

@LoudAquaViper Yh mine was a nc that got declined, due to lack of evidence from school, @KellyBub I’m so confused now I thought they was on April claims already 😭 I’ve seen couple April's get awarded already.

KellyBub · 16/10/2025 11:13

Just called and a decision was made on the 11th, I’ve had no text and I’d assume a payment would e in my account by now if it was accepted 😩 going to wait now and try again in a few months

Mumof1xox · 16/10/2025 11:18

@KellyBub did they not tell you your decision over the phone ?

LoudAquaViper · 16/10/2025 11:19

3-5 working days payment can take so gives you tomorrow as well, what evidence did you send and how old is your little one?

KellyBub · 16/10/2025 11:27

Mumof1xox · 16/10/2025 11:18

@KellyBub did they not tell you your decision over the phone ?

They said they can’t tell me, I just said I assume it’s a decline as I’ve had no text etc and the response was not everyone gets a text.. calling back and going through option 4 to see if they can tell me as the post in our area is shocking, and I’ll be on edge until I get a yes or no 😂
I haven’t got much evidence to send in, other than all the refferals that have been made and we’re not waiting on (we’ve been waiting over 2 years now)

Mumof1xox · 16/10/2025 11:49

@KellyBub I totally get how you feel , it’s so stressful waiting like this, and it’s completely normal to feel on edge. 💛 Not everyone gets a text from the DWP, often because phone numbers aren’t always linked to the claim or the system they use to send updates. So not hearing one doesn’t mean a decline. Please don’t be hard on yourself for not having loads of evidence , the referrals and all the steps you’ve taken still show how much support your child needs. You’re doing an amazing job advocating for them, and hopefully a decision comes soon so you can get some relief. You’re definitely not alone in feeling like this.

Princessmom222 · 16/10/2025 12:18

On FB the last couple days I’ve seen
17th March decision made last week
19th March not with a DM yet
17th April not with a DM yet
13th May decision made last week
19th May decision made last Wednesday
2X 23rd may decision made last week
16th may decision made last week
there’s a good few still waiting from from end of March to beginning of April X

Not that this is any help to anyone to see where they are at cause it’s all over the place and 2 months between the dates decisions are being made😬X

Omg they really are all over the place, I think most don’t go over 30 weeks so I may just aim for that date, it seems if they are going to get a early decision they are really early at 20-21 weeks 😵‍💫

Thank you for the update, I’m 8/4 for coc so shouldn’t be too long after you get your decision 🤞 this wait is so long!

Curlycookie5 · 16/10/2025 13:10

@Harrysmummy2016 good luck today, I have my fingers crossed you get a good decision 🤞

I'm just going to call every Friday and not expect anything until 30 weeks which will be the 2nd of December and just hope it isn’t any longer because of Christmas holidays😬 Your 4 weeks before me so hopefully you hear by the end of this month🤞🏽 X

The other people before you had their decision made on dead on 30 weeks or the day before so there is no reason why they shouldn’t have made the decision. Good luck whenever you do call.
