Does anyone know when I would receive back payment for mr dla, decision was made Thursday gone, want to know the outcome also before letter comes

It should have gone in today unless they paid it late on Thursday?

That was one of the things I thought may have held him back! He’s just started school in September and only attended nursery 1 day a week prior and didn’t have a plan. Going to ask school for if he has one there. The evidence provided were statements from EP, OT, nursery/ Paediatrician stating

“Adults need to support him to keep him safe. He has previously
required hospital treatment after head-banging caused a cut.”
Occupational Therapy Report, EHCP, Paediatrician Report: He frequently puts objects in his
mouth, climbs to dangerous heights (windowsills, furniture), and has no awareness of
danger, requiring physical intervention daily.
Occupational Therapy Report (Page 3): Observed sitting on windowsills, demonstrating
unsafe behaviour requiring physical removal.”

I think words like ‘support’ and ‘physical intervention’ instead of specifically using the word ‘restraint’ may have gone against us.

He would need a restraint plan to satisfy that part of the criteria, and if he had one youd know as youd have to sign it and theyd have to inform you every single time he was restrained. Unfortunately they look for the restraint plan other than the lack of danger awareness ect as that does come under low rate mobility

Oh, hope it's not gonna be bad news then, isn't it supposed to be 3-5day, I'm hoping so

The bank I had before and the current bank mine goes into does it the same way there is 2 working days between the day they send it and the day you receive it. But if the decision was made later on Thursday they may not have sent it till late Thursday or even Friday so I could go in tomorrow? Good luck hopefully you receive back pay tomorrow 🤞

Spoke to the dm I need to send more medical evidence, they rang school but didn't clarify what then said just said "I've spoken to school... How long is recovery from surgery expected " so there wasn't much context to what she mentioned by school I just replied with okay great ... I wasn't sure if she even had but just checking my reaction? Does that sound silly ? X

You would receive back payment tomorrow if you’ve been awarded, you can call on option 4 and they would be able to tell you the decision over the phone.

Thank you, I rang back was in the queue for about a hour and got through to a lovely lady who told me all the rates & dates.

NC SD 02/09 (Forms requested 28/07)

Having received the text stating that wait times are up to 25 weeks, I must say I'm encouraged by the <8 week wait that some recent posters have had.

May I ask if anyone has experience of DLA being awarded for FASD?

Meli3 · 30/09/2025 19:45

@CheekyFinch 8 weeks for me this time around. When I applied for my daughter it was 5 months I have to say i am impressed with how quickly the turn around is. Good luck, hopefully its not a long wait for you

Some of us are still waiting from May June.

Apparently claims before July are taking longer because they are still with in that back log. However July onwards seem to be really quick.

Meli3 · 30/09/2025 19:56

@Irongirl71 its crazy how they do it isnt it, although very grateful, I hope you aren't waiting much longer

MJMa · 30/09/2025 21:33

I can’t believe how they’ve managed to get the NCZ times down. When I applied at the back end of last year it was almost like 18-20 weeks! And even then some went beyond that.

our SD is 27/8 not holding out much hope as DD is still really young and we don’t have much evidence yet..

Same scan date as me for my twins. Me twins are only 3 in november but was told by disability work, doctor and paediatrician to apply. Fingers crossed for you that your child is awarded!

Mr ds maker decision was made Thursday, and still no back pay, so I presume it's been declined

I would call them and if it has been a decline ask for a statement of reasons to be sent out so you know what they have declined your child on and if it’s worth putting in a appeal. Was your MR from a total decline or was they awarded some kind of rate before?
