Has anyone had much luck with appeals?

Beckallf · 11/08/2025 22:43

PurpleNurpleGurple · 11/08/2025 10:18

We are 28 weeks + 6 today!

Surely we have to have a decision (hopefully positive) this week?

Have you rang today?

Has anyone had much luck with appeals?

More often than not, appeals to tribunal go in favour of the claimant. There will be a judge, a disability Dr and usually a parent of a disabled child or something in that capacity that sits on a tribunal. There not affiliated with the DWP at all and are extremely fair, ive not came across anyone that I know thats failed at tribunal

Update

Decision made 7th Aug backpay dropped midnight today awarded HRC (& LRM to start after 5th birthday October ‘25) awarded for 2 years until LOs 7th birthday
MR SD 22.1.25 (28weeks + 1 day)
Original SD was 12.08.24 awarded LRC only

UC has verified children on 8th Aug still with DM for back pay but have awarded DLA high rate & carers element for this month as our pay date is 13th of each month

Good luck to everyone still waiting for decisions praying the wait is over soon honestly the wait time is forever but it is so worth it when you babies get what they deserve xx

Edited

Yeah I got mine too 🥳
I'm also waiting on UC
my payment was yesterday so wasn’t enough time to update this month.
I called up to find out how long my daughter’s been awarded for and they said 1 year is it possible to dispute that?
after waiting 14 months for it to all go through I don’t fancy going through all this again next year so wondered if I could do an MR for the award period anyone know?
She’s 14 so I thought atleast 2,3 years 😭

1 year is really short you would have to be doing a renewal in 6-7 months bcos of current wait times I’m sure you could do MR but wouldn’t that be risking current award?

I don’t think it changes what you get now from what I’ve seen il call up and check

yeah not good is it timing.

Curlycookie5 · 12/08/2025 10:55

I was hoping COC and MRs would have gone down in wait times over the summer holidays but they’ve gone higher than before 🤦‍♀️ looks like another 10+ weeks for me!

Its absolutely ridiculous even here in northern ireland the COC and MRs are getting long but new claims only taking 6 weeks. Im on week 16 for MR and my friend is on week 24 of COC

What’s the current wait times for COC and MRs in Northern Ireland? I think they just don’t like us doing changes to what they’ve awarded so they bump up the wait times hoping we won’t do it?
