They are currently working on week of 20th January for MR xx

Bossingit67 · 12/08/2025 20:25

My MR scan date is 13/02 and I’ve seen several people with feb scan dates after mine that have been awarded. The latest I’ve seen is 24th Feb this week x

Bossingit67 · 12/08/2025 20:25

But in general I do think they seem to be taking 28/29 weeks!

Have you phoned up? Ive never ever known a new claim in n.i to take so long

I haven't, I just assumed that would slow the whole process down.
I didn't know that, I have a friend who waited months for two of her kids new claims also.
Should I call? I am a mess trying to make calls 🙈 I had called at the end of May to enquire they had definitely received the forms as I didn't get a letter or text, which was when the confirmation the SD of May 7th.

More often than not, appeals to tribunal go in favour of the claimant. There will be a judge, a disability Dr and usually a parent of a disabled child or something in that capacity that sits on a tribunal. There not affiliated with the DWP at all and are extremely fair, ive not came across anyone that I know thats failed at tribunal

I’m so nervous, I’ve just had an email saying that dwp have responded to my appeal and I will receive a letter in the post soon and then to wait for trial date! I just hate all this stuff 😢

Thank you. I don’t mind the waiting if my LO gets what he deserves but I don’t know what I’ll do if we lose the appeal, it’s a daunting prospect

I put in a NC for my son who is 6 in September. SD is 11th April and I have heard nothing. I'm on week 17 of waiting and everytime I have called they have said it can take up to 25 weeks and no one has looked at it yet, but then they said actually, there are no timescales! My son's claim has no reference number so it's a 'clerical case' but I'm unsure what that actually means, they say it's just that he hadn't been assigned a reference yet. It's not good enough, really, especially if you you get refused and have to have them look at it again. 😞 Fingers crossed for some decisions and positive outcomes for you all. ❤️

I’ve seen a few claims like this with the clerical reference number and they have asked for a birth certificate to be sent in, the child usually ends up with a clerical reference number if you haven’t claimed child benefits for them because that is when their national insurance number is generated, national insurance number is also their dla reference number. Claims like these have taken longer because they’ve asked for a birth certificate closer to when a decision should be being made or they are waiting for a national insurance number to be generated and sent to them. I would call them and query it if you haven’t already sent in a birth certificate and you still have a clerical reference number.

MR scan date is 13/02. I’m still waiting. Called last Friday when it was 25 weeks and one day and wasn’t with a DM. Feel like they are taking 27-29 weeks on average from what I’ve seen !! Might call on Friday for an update when it will be 26 weeks +1 day but not really holding out much hope!!

Yeah it's a long wait. I'm honestly thinking of just waiting for a letter in the post, I've called twice so far and the wait time seems to be getting longer 🤣

I kind of feel the same. I was so chilled out about it until around 23/24 weeks and now I’m very impatient. I don’t really want to wait for a letter as they take ages but in some ways I think you are right it probably is better just to wait!!

Oilytoe90 · 13/08/2025 09:59

I'm not even gonna bother calling if they still on Jan, once they hit Feb ill be calling everyday lol
