Thank you for this ,do you know when I should let UC know or should I wait for the letter first x

You would need to know the date they have backdated it to. If you called for forms it would be that date but if you printed the forms out it would be your scan date. I did mine before the letter arrived.

That’s awful! When was it signed for? Have they said that they’ve lost it? I’m sure someone else will be able to give exact wording but I have read that this has happened before and people have raised it as a data protection issue especially as it was signed for and miraculously it has been located 🤷‍♀️

Well when I phoned the man said he can’t see anything gave him tracking number ect it was signed for just before 7am of 24june . He said to re write it and send it again- I stressed that without this it will possibly be a decline on my renewal but he said he’s seen it happen and the case manager finds it - he’s put a note on I will re write it up but it’s going to take a day atleast 🤷🏻‍♀️🙄

That’s such amazing news 🙌 what did you send in to support HRM? I’m currently doing a COC and hoping I’ve given enough evidence for Hrm

Thank you 😊 I sent quite a lot of things but didn't think it would still be enough.
Sent in a pediatrician report which stated GDD diagnosis and suspected autism ADHD
Sent proof of blue badge
Sent school IDP from council
Sent a detailed statement from myself detailing every point on the SMI criteria in lengthy detail
A report from grandparents
The DM then rang the school (special needs school) to confirm some details and I got awarded
Hope this helps

Amazing thank you, I have sent in very similar things to you, I’m claiming under smi aswell. We have recently received a blue badge I was wondering if I should send in the application and a copy of her blue badge, I have a few appointments over the summer holiday then will send it with those reports with it. Thanks again and so happy for you to get the award you’ve been waiting for

It's so hard isn't it when you know your child is entitled to it but trying to prove it is another thing. Yes I'd definitely send the blue badge off I literally just sent everything I could get my hands on even if I thought it wasn't relevant. What did you say your scan date was again? I hope you get your award

I actually just got a text that my child qualified!

I have two claims in for twins and they were with the same DM (same condition and almost identical applications so I assume if one has the other will too). Only had one text though so I’m not sure yet.

It really is, I wish we could show videos of how our children really are, writing it down just never seems enough. I’m 8/4 for a COC so I’ve got a long wait but plenty of time to keep sending in more things

Sairr · 18/07/2025 16:25

MR 16/1 26 +1 days. I’ve received a text message that someone will call me Monday between 8.30-1.30 which is typical because we’re going away so il be driving. I’ve called them and she said I can get someone to call you the week after I was like noooooo! So there calling me after 1 Monday. What’s everyone else’s experiences with the calls? & are decisions usually made that day xx

When uc backdate they will amend previous awards with the disability and carers element and the benefit cap will be lifted and they will pay you back the over payment.

Terribletwoss · 18/07/2025 18:09

I was on hold for 1.5 hours but my twins were awarded middle rate care until 2031!
No mobility as they’re only 2.

Ring them and say you'll report them for a breech of GDPR if it isnt found as it has personal information on. They tend to find it pretty quickly when you do that

CheeryAzureOtter · 19/07/2025 09:07

Scan date 4/4 rang in yesterday and said it’s with decision maker, so 15 weeks I think

CheeryAzureOtter · 19/07/2025 09:08

Does anyone know how long it takes once it’s with a decision-maker
