Anyone had updates today who r waiting on COC? SD 24/2

I think they’re still on December 😒 our SD is 30/01 so 24 weeks today . Sent extra evidence last Friday so I want it to be long enough that, that is scanned and considered but if they want to speak to the school, there’s only 2.5 days left of term! 🤞🏻they catch up soon!

I’ve not started the process yet, going to start it next week when I’ve calmed down 🤬

Yes think I need to do the same! I have to wait for the letter for reasons yet but definitely need to calm down!

Hi, COC 26th March, I am just looking for your advice my daughter was awarded MRC and LMR which I am extremely grateful. Since then a support centre recommended to do a COC because she has night needs and is a danger to herself outside ( let's go of my hand and runs into the road) after an incident where I only managed to get to her on time we decided to only drive her to school. Would she get HRM or is there anything I need to get from the GP (they always brush me of even though she is almost 6, non-verbal and clearly autistic but not diagnosed yet). The school agrees and has wrote on the EHCP that she can not travel safely.

Sorry for the long post.

hrm is extremely hard to get and ehst you've described would only be low rate mobility. Look up the hrm flow charts and see if you can professionally evidence each and every point unfortunately you do need a diagnosis under smi and im pretty sure you need one for VUW too

Wow that's crazy. Tbh I'm not expecting them to change the mobility to high but my son should qualify tbh. He currently get LRM and HRC so we will see if it changes, if not then I'm happy with the award we currently have

I'm the same as you. I'm so nervous.
I feel like we will be declined but my husband said we won't. She has this condition for the rest of her life, there's no way it can be declined. I feel so too but then another poster said they're child also has a life long condition and was declined and finally through MR got LOWER RATE, which is ridiculous considering what her little boy goes through, both day and night @ProudZebra

If mines declined I will be so devastated and put in a MR. And if it is lower rate, I'm definitely appealing again as she deserves more. Everyday she's in pain, after she eats she's in pain, she can't walk far and she has numerous diarrhoea explosion often mixed with blood and mucus. She is very small. She's pale and sometimes hunched over on the floor in pain. It's been so tough for her.

Yes, I couldn’t believe my little one was only awarded LRC after an MR, main reason he didn’t get any mobility was “he likes to play football with his brother” written on one hospital letter, even though there are way more hospital letters saying he’s in pain while playing and that he wakes several times through the night in pain! I feel so annoyed and let down by the system that I’m not even going to take it further! He was only awarded for two years which after MR and everything means he will have to renew in June next year, I don’t even think I’ll bother, I feel so broken by the whole thing 😭

Can they tell you the decision of an MR? They told me today that they couldn't access it

Ours was an MR and they couldn’t tell us over the phone, however, we received a payment. So hang in there. X

Pressthespacebar · 18/07/2025 07:03

Hi guys woken up to £1954.40 in my account this morning from Dla. SD was 3/4 so just over 15 weeks!

So we had two new claims declined (both children have the same medical conditions and learning difficulties, different ages). One MR we didn’t call about, just received the payment Wednesday. The second one my husband called yesterday, out of curiosity and a decision was made Tuesday, payment was in early hours of this morning. But the call handler couldn’t tell him over the phone.

When was your decision made?

Keeping fingers crossed for you and your little one.

Hi that's great news that both your MR are now sorted 😊 my decision was made yesterday so hopefully by Monday or Tuesday then if it has gone through? I think I will try and call today just to check again if someone can tell me so I'm not stressing over the weekend 😂

HRC and LRM for 14 weeks would give this exact number.

DivGirl · 18/07/2025 07:15

Might be to decision date rather than the day you got it giving 14 instead of 15 weeks.

I will be watching out of your posts and keeping my fingers crossed 🤞. I hope you get a nice call handler, that can at least set your mind at ease for the weekend, personally I think it’s worth a try. 🍀

Do u think.its worth ringing again sd 21/3 they received my extra papers tuesday

Selio · 18/07/2025 07:56

Hi all, been a long time lurker.
For those wondering about MR, mine was 13/01 had a phone call yesterday to go over some of the evidence I sent and was told a decision would be made later that day, or today latest. Don't have much hope seeing other people's outcome but thought for those keeping an eye on MR dates I would update, good luck everyone! Fighting for what our children deserve is hard work!!

My eldest is now with a DM and should have a decision today or Monday then I asked about my youngest just because I was in the phone I thought why not and was so shocked when she said decision was made Wednesday and he was awarded HRC and I will receive back pay most likely Monday of £1800 and something I can't really remember the exact amount she said he was awarded from may and I will receive £440 on the 19th August I'm so happy for him ,but i did get his forms back before the deadline so was shocked as to why hes not been awarded from end of march when i called for the forms either way am very happy so just goto show they dont always do it in order i did say to the lady hiw come his was done first and she said its because they both went to different dm x
