Just called them again. She didn’t get awarded so now I’m guessing it’s an appeal process !! Anyone been successful with one of these ?

I done a coc last March went to MR notice no change in award so went to tribunal on 20th dec to waiting for a date
My son is getting MRC LRM

His needs have changed I think he should be on HRC so in all ive been waiting over a year now it's so frustrating

Nope, you have to speak to someone

CherryFox25 · 14/04/2025 11:34

Morning everyone, my daughter was awarded MRC and LRC on Tuesday, do I need to wait for the letter before telling UC or can I do it now?

If so what do I do or write in my journal? From all the worrying about waiting for the decision for her claim I’m now panicking about what to do with UC

Well ladies today is the day the CM is working on my son MR 25weeks+ 2 days .... after the conversation with the dispute team I feel more at ease, I'm sorry for everyone who's still waiting for Mr result's and can only suggest talking to the dispute team again and hopefully getting somewhere... I was told to call back Wednesday so that's what I'm gonna do, I still can't believe it's taken a year ...1 decline and a MR just to wait for a decline or acceptance again ... fingers crossed I don't have to appeal cause I'm so overwhelmed with life at the moment I don't know if I'd have the energy to fight it.

Im 27 weeks mr, just called again and no decision has been made 😩

Ah thank you, she's going to call them today she's at 22 weeks now, she did call at 18 weeks and the woman was not the nicest on the phone with her, hopefully she gets someone that's a bit better this time

Honeybuns91 · 14/04/2025 11:51

NC 11/12
Called today after seeing a pending payment in my account on Friday of £2472.85
Confirmed HRC & LRM awarded until Feb 2029.
Really wasn’t expecting to be awarded HRC, was hopeful for MRC at best and wasn’t expecting LRM at all, so overall very pleased 😃

Good luck everyone x

StanleyParents · 14/04/2025 12:03

The more I watch this thread the more I'm worried about my son's renewal.

I've done the research and in my mind there is no way he's not entitled to HRC and under the rules of "Severe Mental Impairment" he should be entitled to HRM, I just don't trust them.

The next few weeks until we hear are going to be hell!

Fluffagain · 14/04/2025 12:05

Just heard this morning the decision of my daughters MR. They have awarded her HRC from MRC. The MR scan date was 18/10

I totally agree with you, I’ve just done a COC for my daughter and according to the criteria she should be on HRC and HRM but it seems that some awards don’t seem to be looked at properly and not given the correct award, which is worrying! HRM seems hard to get under the smi rule, I’ve added information to meet the criteria but I’m also expecting to have to do a MR for it. Hopefully not much longer before you receive your renewal decision. My sons renewal is with them now and I’m not sure which way it’s going to go now he’s trailing which dose melatonin to be on 🙄 such a worry isn’t it.

Literally done a diary entry of her day to day needs, how she is at home, how she is at school, what the school told me they wanted her assessed for. But nothing actual official from the school or GP so maybe this is what they want x

I spoke to someone from Contact, they advised sending in some additional notes so I had written a 4 page document talking about how he meets each individual section of the SMI rules and where it's corroborated with his evidence, so for issues like his sleep time needs I've pointed them to the letters from his paediatrician, or where he needs restraint from his EHCP etc. so I've tried to do most of the work for them!

Will keep you informed

Congrats on the award. You can go to universal credit and do change of circumstances, then go to children living with you, then there should be a list of children you have. Them put in the date of the award and follow the steps from there. I don't know if that's any help. Lol.

MamatoB36 · 14/04/2025 13:05

NC 04/12 - Called back to get the decision and it was denied. They are sending me the reasons but she said mostly it was because there was no evidence! Very new to this and only done the application as someone recommended we should. Had no idea we would need to send so much evidence in as our son is diagnosed with ADHD and on medication. Going to do an MR, all we will have really is reports from his paediatric team and school is this what they mean in terms of evidence? Thank you ☺️

MumMummyBroandSGOmum · 14/04/2025 13:08

n/c s/d 24/12 still waiting
the child on the claim is not biologically mine I have an SGO
mum disabled myself and get uc for 2/3 children (not including this child) and lcwra for myself atm I have a kinship payment that’s due to stop for Thai child. He is not yet added to my uc claim due to the rules. Do anyone know when I do add him what support I would be entitled to if his claim is successful
he is suspected ASD , SPD , foetal drug and alcohol and others linked to these things
we have I IEP , Opp , paeds report , specialist HV report and nursery obs , speech and language and play therapy …. I’m hoping we have enough for some sort of positive outcome. He is 2 so I know we wouldn’t qualify for the mobility part
