Congratulations was it a complete decline first time around

Congrats on the award. You can go to universal credit and do change of circumstances, then go to children living with you, then there should be a list of children you have. Them put in the date of the award and follow the steps from there. I don't know if that's any help. Lol.

I don’t think that part was right 🫣 i did the change and it said about when they came to live with you but I’ve put a message in my journal explaining that I don’t think I’ve done it right. Panic on top of panic now until I get a reply 😢

Yeh I did it with a guy online just now because it says who is new that is living with you so I was so confused but he said there you put your date of approval from dla, and follow the steps after it will say what your son is getting and then you select dla next they will ask what rate.

I spoke to someone from Contact, they advised sending in some additional notes so I had written a 4 page document talking about how he meets each individual section of the SMI rules and where it's corroborated with his evidence, so for issues like his sleep time needs I've pointed them to the letters from his paediatrician, or where he needs restraint from his EHCP etc. so I've tried to do most of the work for them!

Will keep you informed

It’s sounds like you’ve put in all the information to get HRM that you would have had to if you needed to do a MR, hoping you get some good news ☺️

That's what contact said to me, be careful sending all this now as you want have anything for an MR but If I've done it correctly I shouldn't need an MR!

n/c s/d 24/12 still waiting
the child on the claim is not biologically mine I have an SGO
mum disabled myself and get uc for 2/3 children (not including this child) and lcwra for myself atm I have a kinship payment that’s due to stop for Thai child. He is not yet added to my uc claim due to the rules. Do anyone know when I do add him what support I would be entitled to if his claim is successful
he is suspected ASD , SPD , foetal drug and alcohol and others linked to these things
we have I IEP , Opp , paeds report , specialist HV report and nursery obs , speech and language and play therapy …. I’m hoping we have enough for some sort of positive outcome. He is 2 so I know we wouldn’t qualify for the mobility part

What is an SGO, please?

A special guardianship order , I was a kinship carer for a family members child. And was then awarded an SGO which means I now have full PR for the child until the “age of 18”

Just a quick question, if you don’t get awarded mobility until child is 5, do they pre award if 5th birthday is within 4 months of them dealing with a COC claim or would I have I to apply again for mobility?

TippieTappyTara · 14/04/2025 14:50

No she had received HRC and LRM for years, but on renewal it was changed to MRC and LRM, so I decided to submit an MR

Well ladies today is the day the CM is working on my son MR 25weeks+ 2 days .... after the conversation with the dispute team I feel more at ease, I'm sorry for everyone who's still waiting for Mr result's and can only suggest talking to the dispute team again and hopefully getting somewhere... I was told to call back Wednesday so that's what I'm gonna do, I still can't believe it's taken a year ...1 decline and a MR just to wait for a decline or acceptance again ... fingers crossed I don't have to appeal cause I'm so overwhelmed with life at the moment I don't know if I'd have the energy to fight it.

Fingers crossed you hear in the next few days. My daughter’s MR decision was made this morning. The scan date was 18/10. Good luck

I asked the call handler to transfer me to the case manager as I had been waiting over 25 weeks and would like to know the decision. They were happy to transfer me and I spoke to the case manager straight away
