DLA WAITING TIME THREAD 67

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 25/03/2025 10:48

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Hi my son's award ends 20th of April. I was the same when I received the same letter I thought it was a decision lol I need to call today they says they would chase some extra evidence up that I had sent 2 weeks ago, it's evidence of my son's autism diagnosis, he only got diagnosed on the 4th of March x

im glad it’s not just me who did that 😂 Let me know how you get on with your call. I sent in extra evidence yesterday so I think I’ll call on Friday to check it’s been scanned and ask for an update at the same time. Good luck! Hope you find out really soon and it’s a good outcome

NC SD - 22/11. Called yesterday, no update. Not with DM yet but apparently “next in line”. Good luck everyone.

I need advice...

Renewal ends on the 5th May, forms sent off last Thursday using Royal Mail signed for but it's still not showing delivered yet!

I've just gone to post my daughter's new claim and royal mail told me to send it secured delivery so they have to sign for it, however i need a postcode to do this I was only given "Freepost DWP DLA Child" as the address...

Any advice? I'm assuming my claim is going to be cancelled for the renewal as it's too soon, any advice on this?

This might be a silly question, but for those of us just awarded, will the amount we are told we will get change from April 2025 with the increase, or is the amount they tell us we get already have the increase calculated in?

COC 25+3 weeks SD 28/09 received text message today to say decision made that child qualifies for DLA.

PositivityRipples · 25/03/2025 13:42

N/C scan date 22/11
Just called option 4
No decision as yet but i asked if the claim has an " owner" ( which means it's allocated to a specific DM) she asked if this was a call audit as how do i know that's what their system said 😂

I said no i just know

She said yes it does have an owner for your claim on the system so it's with a DM 💫

Shouldn't be to long for anyone waiting N/C for November now

Good luck everyone

I've just called them, a man I spoke to says the evidence has been signed for but it is not with my son's claim yet, but should be by the time his renewal gets looked at. Fingers crossed they see it before they make a decision x

Thank you for this, i will send this one off now!

Still not sure what to do about my renewal, the post office said realistically it should of been there Friday, this is so annoying, why are they still using paper!?

DrGee · 25/03/2025 14:22

Update:
NC 22/11 decision made yesterday for LRC for 12 months - so not quite 18 weeks wait, I think that's fair for the moment, especially as our evidence is limited (home educated) and will hopefully have more information about needs etc from assessments we've got coming up for renewal next year. I definitely do not have the energy or "evidence" currently to challenge it! Good luck to everyone waiting!

@StanleyParents Im sure DLA will have your renewal.. The Royal mail online system was down for the whole weekend to update their systems it only came back online yesterday.. Lots of post is showing not delivered online but it's actually delivered.. If you're worried call DLA and ask them to check they have received it 💫

Liya1xx · 25/03/2025 14:31

I want to send of extra stuff for the MR we’re currently trying to get my daughter a EHCP if I send the application in will this be classed as extra evidence? She’s seeing the educational psychologist so they also maybe able to provide but just want to send in as much as I can !
