DLA WAITING TIME THREAD 67

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 25/03/2025 10:48

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Fingers crossed you hear soon, hopefully you're not much further behind. I called on 19/03 and it wasn't allocated and the call handler said I'd have time to send in new evidence. That was only received yesterday afternoon so seems a decision may have been made 20 or 21 just after the call. Maybe call on Friday for an update and peace of mind? xx

That was my plan, to give a call friday and see if there is any update. Will be 18 weeks then, seems like most november claims are being done 18/19 week mark. Frustrated that she wouldnt say whether it had been allocated yet xx

zoeybrooks45 · 26/03/2025 10:33

Congrats on all those who have been awarded today.

if you are told a decision has been made and they are not able to tell you then you need to call back on option 4 where they can tell you a decision or you can wait for the letter to arrive

anybody waiting for UC we are not able to tell you how long it takes to verify follow up if no update in your journal in two weeks or call up UC

So after being told a decision was made yesterday but couldn't tell me what I called back this morning option 4 and was told my MR for HRM was declined but they have increased my HRC award from 2026 to 2033. Will be appealing the decision on HRM but just have to wait for the letter to come through now. Good luck to everyone still waiting 🤞

ByChirpy · 26/03/2025 10:38

COC sd 8/11
Was posted next day delivery 24/10
Rang 3 weeks ago was told should hear something in the next 2 weeks. Rang today to be told it's in a waiting que for DM might be looked at by Friday 20week mark (22weeks since posting) but might be the full 25 weeks wait until decision is made.
Has anybody been told same about in a que and had a decision within the same week? X

StanleyParents · 26/03/2025 12:17

Spoke to them this morning with regards to my renewal potentially being lost, was sent last Thursday via RM Signed for 1st Class and it still hasnt been scanned there, was told it doesnt mean it isnt there but too call back on Friday/Monday and potentially get the forms sent out again!

She did say however that with his claim due to end in May they would look at it sooner and has put a note on the system about it, so fingers crossed it arrives and we get some news before his claim ends!

Also sent a new claim yesterday so hopefully that arrives with no fuss!

Just spoke to dla by using option 4 and got straight though. New claim scan date 21/11 my son was awarded middle rate till 2026 I’m over the moon! Now I can finally get him the help he needs at pre school! Good luck to everyone I hope you find out soon! I didn’t have alot of evidence for my boy so wasn’t expecting to be awarded so I’m so pleased today.

Congratulations xx

Mumofthecrazygang86 · 26/03/2025 12:37

I’m waiting for a nc scan date 6/02 , but also I have another which is due to end feb 2026. When should I expect the renewal forms? And do they just come or do I need to ask for them? Tia x

Yeah I’ve been told 8th of may. It’s just one of those things you can’t push to the back of your mind isn’t it. With specialist school EHCP’s and everything else we have to fight for our children you’d think this would be an easier fight x

Definitely and you would think if they told truth when people rang it would save them all the phone calls
wouldnt it not different story all the time
was yours a complete decline to begin with or you disagree with them

Congratulations to you and good luck in next steps! May I please ask if they rejected HRM on a LO wearing prosthetic limbs?
( DD is an amputee and I have read lot of them are declined HRM. )

Thank you I applied for HRM for my child who is non verbal autistic and has GDD, PICA and significant sensory issues. It seemed he ticked all the boxes for SMI and VUW however they have declined saying he can jump up and down on his trampoline at home? I would think your child should definitely be entitled to HRM but you just might have to fight for it (go to tribunal if necessary) I wish you the best of luck x

Hopeful1212 · 26/03/2025 14:12

NC 22/11. Received a call from DM. Then a text less than 1hr later. Calling option 4 now for details. GOOD LUCK ALL. The anxiety has been unreal!!

Disney101101 · 26/03/2025 14:17

Just an update for anyone wondering about universal credit, I found out my award date today and went onto my journal today and they have already replied and told me what to do so did as they said and I am being back dated missed money which will be in my bank in 2 days! They are working very fast by the looks of it. Feel so relived today, good luck to everyone 🤞

Literally tell me on the letter 25 weeks and I’d be fine! My son was given HRC but no mobility as he is 4. I’ve put in for HRM he’s non verbal and runs away. He has very dangerous and violent meltdowns randomly at all different times I know it’s a hard fight for mobility but you have to fight for what you feel your child is entitled to. How about yous? X

AuDHDMum23 · 26/03/2025 14:26

Congratulations everyone who has been awarded today. Yes it appears they are working fast through mid to end of November.

NC SD 15/11/24 - pending amount in bank today! Teen ASD/ADHD - Application included IEP plus additional emails that I included that detailed problems from various staff at school to myself about random issues and his care plan at school. Plus a daily diary with various bath, food, sleep and travel needs. I was worried that school would play it down if contacted, hence why I send a lot of evidence.

It appears there is a pending amount in DH account today. Not sure of the details as at work this morning and busy with unwell child at home this afternoon. Possibly mrc/hc and lm.

Lots of good luck to everyone still waiting and those fighting with an MR. This website helped support me and sending lots of positive thoughts to those still here. Will try to update when I can.

Omg can't believe it, just received a text to say my daughter qualifies, so happy for her. For anyone worried about evidence I only sent referral letter from chams and letter to say she had been accepted onto asd pathway
