DLA WAIT TIME THREAD 62

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 11/01/2025 22:06

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.
DLA contact number is 121 4600 0800 121 4600

Lyannaa · 28/01/2025 17:11

Hi, just asking. How long after you send the form do they usually let you know they've got it?

MistandFog2024 · 28/01/2025 18:42

@Lyannaa hi it took about 4 weeks from sending the forms off to getting a letter saying they received them

Flowers90 · 28/01/2025 18:46

There is a new thread (63) link on page 39. You'll get more responses there

Lyannaa · 28/01/2025 20:30

Hi got my MR back today , we but in on November 8th for HRM unfortunately because academically on his ehcp it says he's bright in his studies ( nothing do to with his behaviors in other areas or struggles 🤦🏽‍♀️) and the fact he was down as still awaiting assessment for ASD ( which in the time has been done and he is now diagnosed) they couldn't change him to HRM I'm gutted . Not sure to take it to next steps or not

Well if it doesn’t definitely do the complaint form online, they move fast after that! X

How does the process work? Will it be sorted same day? They said they was going to escalate the backpay and I’d hear back by 22nd Jan, well that’s been and gone so I asked again and they said they will escalate again and I will hear by the 5th Feb! I’m being fobbed off at this point!

Had a letter this morning saying they have received my MR and they are looking at the information again and this could take up to 11 weeks, wish they would update there times schedule on the letters.

When did you send your MR off? I sent mine before the new year and haven’t heard anything at all.

you literally just submit a form online, very quick process. I did it before when uc fobbed me off. Mine was sorted with in a day, but it varies I’d assume. But definitely worth a shot x
I’ve put the link below, scroll till you find Universal credit and click make a complaint online x

My sons renewal took exactly 8 weeks, my scan date was 11 November 24 and the decision was made on 11 January 2025.
his renewal was due by 11/02/25 so was very quick. I never received any calls or texts and never rang once for an update. I only received 1 letter to say they had received my form. Hope this helps.

Joanna8412 · 03/02/2025 10:33

How long are COC taking? Does anyone know?

Scan date 27/09/2024. 2 weeks ago they said it was with a decision maker this morning they said holding que? Hows that even possible to go back into the que? 😞

SharpPombear · 03/02/2025 16:49

Caramelbear1985 · 12/01/2025 09:17

Nothing yet! Do you have the same date?

Mumtotwoboys121 · 03/02/2025 18:01

Hi everyone, I was here 18 months ago whilst applying for my son. He was awarded MRC. Now it’s renewal time, it’s up in May, sent forms back on Thursday and going by the tracking they got there on Friday.
does anyone know how long it’s taking for renewals atm?
I have read on the fb page anything from 2 weeks to 2 months.
I’m hoping for mobility this time round and HRC but will see.
good luck everyone

Hi my some has been getting carers since age of 7 when he was diagnosed and then got declined in October for renewal so I did MR 6th November and sent them some evidence. In statement of reasons they said that his behaviour issues wasnt basically proof that that it was down to him having autism which they also said there was no diagnosis but there is I so sent that to but since then I tried to get him into cahms as he got a knife out a few weeks back and they come a decision that they don't think it's down to mental health and that it appears that this behaviour is down to neurodiversity and possible ADHD which he has also been referred for so I sent this letter as evidence as cahms are stating that they don't think mental health but down to him having autism and possible ADHD. Do you think this evidence will help my case?

There's a new thread now, same title but 63.
You will probably get more replies on there. From what you said I think it definitely supports what you're saying and that's what you need evidence to do so I'd definitely send it.

Mrssnee16 · 11/02/2025 22:26

Hi all, my 4 year old son already gets HRC from last year. At the time we only had his GDD diagnosis. Hes none verbal, sensory impairment, social communication impairment, refusal to move episodes, no danger awareness at all, ARFID and pika. Hes recently been diagnosed with autism on the more servere end of the spectrum getting 9 out 12 areas met in the assesment. I have requested a COC for the mobility. Has anyone been successful with this under SMI or VUM rules? Thankyou x

Abwill · 16/02/2025 10:32

Hi has anyone ever heard of a MR being over turned before tribunal for missed evidence, the said my son doesn't hit all 6 points for SmI due to not being diagnosed, however he is and that has been missed in the MR I've reported this and asked if the can be looked at again before I take to tribunal (basically a chance for them not to waste everyone's time ) but beard nothing so far which is frustrating

Did you submit under late evidence? Have you recieved your MR notice then it is settled as an award and next steps is tribunal. There is always a chance it can get overturned right before tribunal. Have you logged your appeal yet?

So I received the MR with the reasons being he hasn't a diagnosis of ASD for SMI however he does have a diagnosis and I sent this across but it seems it may have been lost given it wasn't considered. I've sent a complaint to say can this be looked at again before tribunal given this information has been missed, so I'm awaiting a reply now , I'm hoping they will just oberturn it as I really can't be bothered with going to tribunal with the waiting times
