DLA WAIT TIME THREAD 62

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 11/01/2025 22:06

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.
DLA contact number is 121 4600 0800 121 4600

@SKB12 oh wow I think it just depends on who you get on the phone I don't think they are

macap · 22/01/2025 09:28

@SKB12 yeah I feel like the office that's ahead should be sent claims from the office which is behind. 😆

Hopefully everyone hears soon who's waiting.

tyravoss · 22/01/2025 09:28

@SKB12 I don't think that they are meant to tell
You but some do

ive just seen them too makes the wait worse i think when you have no idea when yours is going to be looked at mines a NC 16/10 scan date I’ve got first week of march in my head then when I see different dates been done at different times makes me nervous

tyravoss · 22/01/2025 09:41

They should! 😂 hopefully they get a good amount of claims wrapped up before the month ends.

@tyravoss Depending on your current circumstances, working? Not working ect? Income? I can't really give my opinion but
If you're not working then absolutely you should, go on to your account and report a change to caring for someone put your dla award date, then make another change, claiming dla for child and rates, your changes will then be actioned that's done automatically.
Then write a note in your journal under payment and say, hello, can you please back date my disabled child element and carers element to ( input date) reason for reporting the change late is because you've only just got your child's award for dla backdated to ( input date) if you're under a benefit cap also write can you exempt me from the benefit cap since ( input dla award date)
That will then be sent to a DM to action back pay.
Hope that helps x

ill give them a call in a few days again see what they say this wait is horrible :(

Haloh · 22/01/2025 10:14

Called today and told it was passed to a decision maker yesterday. Scan date 11/9. Does anyone know roughly how long it may be? The wait is killing me

SKB12 · 22/01/2025 10:16

tyravoss · 22/01/2025 09:28

You but some do

I don’t see why they would think you want to wait up to 2 weeks for a decision letter after the wait of getting a decision! I was convinced it was a decline due to that too!

macap · 22/01/2025 10:16

PositivityRipples · 22/01/2025 09:57

Doesn't say, I did miss that one was renewal though! But the other was a new claim I think!

Jenz1008 · 22/01/2025 10:33

@Kirstygingee From the dates on this group they seem to be working on 6/9 to 11/09. I’m 17/09 SD NC and doing everything in my power not to call 😬

Shellbel10 · 22/01/2025 10:33

Morning. Has anyone had any news on renewals please

tyravoss · 22/01/2025 10:37

@Starboymummy omg good luck let us know x

Starboymummy · 22/01/2025 10:39

Ughhh no luck with a decision yet sd 9/9 the man said my colleague has already spoken to you and told you 25weeks and that you will get a text so no need to call, when i said but your letters say something else he repeated as i just said you have been told to wait 25 weeks, he was very cheeky but I found it funny , lol so they deffo can see how many times you ring ,he said it is still waiting to be assigned which is annoying 😩, I shall be calling back next week to be honest he has not put me off one bit 🤣
