Sd 20/8
The wait is def worse as you get close to 20weeks. As time passes I just feel more and more the application will be declined. Just draining. Sent in fair bit of evidence but just have a feeling I will be doing a MR.
This really is an awful process to go through on top of everything we deal with day to day 😪

I know normally at 9 between me you and @SKB12 weve phoned up 🤣🤣 I’m still waiting on backpay awarded 23/12 presumably because of bank holidays will be next week for me xx

I'm same date as you waiting for back pay. The guy said it will be in this Thursday at the latest. If that helps at all x

This is so odd. Having posted yesterday about whether I should ring up to check progress (thank you for the kind and reassuring responses) I've just logged into my basking app for an altogether different reason to find a deposit from 'DWP DLA' in my account. As I've not received a letter to confirm an award, I really wasn't expecting it. Will there be a letter with further details, breaking it down and how and when to communicate changes in circumstances?
This is a big relief.

ZW27 · 30/12/2024 12:57

New Claim SD 30/08 on the letter, but according to person on the phone 21st?
I have been lurking the thread for a while now initially hoping to get this through before Christmas 😂😩. I managed to ring in once at 16 weeks but not sure if there is point to ring in again at all since it all looks like shambles! Does ringing in pushes it at all? Fingers crossed not long now though!

Klrb16 · 30/12/2024 12:58

Just a quick question that I'm hoping someone can help me answer my sons letter says claim will be from the 16/09 so is this the scan date?

My oldest daughter already receives DLA but it has been a long time since I had to send any forms off as she was awarded 4 years ago and renewal isn't due until 2026

Hoping someone can answer for me and I wish everyone luck with their awards.

MrsB97 · 30/12/2024 13:01

Just called he said its being looked at but no decision made yet.
NC, SD-13.08

This is incredibly helpful thank you! 💕

Most welcome hun honestly should be made easier but dwp dla pip carers housing anyone and everyone tend to never be transparent with this type of information which is really unfair
Just want people to be able to access what their children are entitled to x

Chels2020 · 30/12/2024 10:19

I’ve had a message from uc to say they have verified my sons details so what happens with them now? And fingers crossed what date was yours processed x

They should then send a letter attached to Uc seperate message with the amount they owe you if you asked for disabled child element carers allowance (depending on hours/wages) also taken £4£ and if asked for carers element to be backdated to start of award claim date
It's important to ask for it to be backdated as they won't do it automatically they will add it to future payment periods only if not asked for backdating hope that makes sense sorry I'm so tired x

That's great news! Congratulations! 🎉
Most people get the back payment before any correspondence from DWP.
Some people get a text saying their child qualifies...I got that, then received the back payment 3 working days later, then the letter 2 days after that (a week after the text).
I reckon you should receive your letter by the end of this week. But in the text it says the letter should be with you within 2 weeks.
The letter will tell you your child's award, the date they will award from (your SD or the date you phoned for the form) and until. For my daughter it is until January 2027.
And yes, I believe on the back of the letter it says how to communicate any changes of circumstances.
Congrats again 😊

WomanIsTaken · 30/12/2024 14:10

@PipB94 Just checked; there is no mention of a scan date, but the letter they sent me to confirm receipt of my form and paperwork says my application was received on the 9th of August. I submitted a further report in the first week of September to be added to the evidence bundle.

I hope they send a confirmation of their decision with some kind of breakdown. I realise that from now on I need to notify the DWP of any changes and developments as they occur (I've high hopes for a new therapy starting in the new year) so some guidance on this would also be useful. Hopefully further communication will appear in the post this week.

Managed to get through no decision yet 😫 the lady was lovely she had to do the whole 25 weeks speech. Think I will leave it until next Monday now it's just so bloody depressing nearly which will be nearly 11 months since I started this 🤪

Congratulations to everyone who's been awarded and fingers crossed to those still waiting x

Im not bothering until next Monday either. The Christmas holidays plus new years will put them an extra week behind as well

I think it got overexcited seeing the comments about people being awarded and no one told them 😅 I should know nothing is straightforward with us 🤣

I guess they work out what they owe you and back date it. I haven’t had to do for my son as he was already receiving DLA. I was doing it for my husband to be listed as my carer for the carers element. Ours should’ve been done on 24/12 if you mean DLA claim. No letter today, I don’t want to call to ask about back payment or length of award so just waiting on letter 😅 x

Same 😂 I mean surely by end of next week we have to know right (wishful thinking) 😂
