Hey guys.
I seen someone write a week or so ago that they were in process of employing more staff to get through the back log. Maybe with all the claims having decisions this week and there have been more then normal weeks this is the case.
I know the lady said they don’t expect it to make much difference only a couple weeks they think but seeing 1st July go to the 18th for some in around 9 days is promising for us I think.
hope more awards are done today. Good luck all waiting around these dates xx

@ForRareBeaker I'm the same date as you, 15th July for a new claim.
We must be getting close now 🤞

Hi everyone I posted on the old thread but scan date 06/08 for COC so a little while to wait yet. Unsure on what difference the COC will make. She already receives MRC and LRM diagnosed ASD. But I sent off ADHD diagnosis with report and EHCP we've finally just got does anyone know what difference this would make to the claim? Thank you 🙂

when I did the COC they kept the award the same with diagnosis and ECHP. now I am doing MR. Hopefully they increase your award. x

From what I have read (so not personal experience and could be wrong) HRC would need evidence of substantial day and night time needs so would depend if your evidence includes the night as well as the day. With you already receiving LRM it would depend on your evidence as to wether they feel as though you would qualify for HRM under VUW (if staying at MRC) or under SMI (if your award is changed to HRC). There are flow charts for these and you would need to have evidence of all points on the chart to be awarded. I also believe sometimes a diagnosis and ehcp can extend the award so it could be you are kept on the same rates but the award is extended. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

My first change of circumstance changed my son from MRC to HRC. My second COC for mobility kept his high rate care declined mobility but extended the award till 2032. Now doing an MR for HRM.

As @JY979797 has said, unless you've documented significant night time needs in your Coc then I don't imagine it will change, but hopefully they may extend your award 🤞

I need to just try and keep busy today. Will call around half 4 and desperately hope for a positive decision, although I'm now resigned to the fact it'll probably be next week 😭 was really hoping I'd have had a decision by now. Don't think many are waiting from before me now, sd 8/7

Good luck! Hopefully you get your decision today and if not you are 20 weeks Monday so will hopefully be put through as priority on Monday/Tuesday similar to me. It’s an awful wait 🤞🏻

PollyH3 · 22/11/2024 08:12

I think we can all agree that it's hard when you see dates quite a lot past yours being awarded. Obviously I am so happy for each child that gets the help they deserve, but at the same time while my child is struggling I just wish I could get an answer for him. I'm really hoping for an answer today but after @JY979797 I'm resigned to the fact it'll be at least Tuesday, so anything sooner would be a lovely bonus x

TheRoseSnake · 22/11/2024 08:22

I'm taking an attitude of what will be will be. If you're under 20 weeks then there's zero the call handlers can do anyway it seems. I've seen anything from lies about being with a decision maker to lies about being marked as 'urgent'. I do sympathize with the people on the phone though. They get bombarded all day with people asking the same thing. It must be non-stop when queue lengths are 30 minutes or so.

I’m the same. Mine is 12/07 and seen many been done with this date. I’ll wait for a call, txt or letter. 19 weeks today. No news is good news xx

Kimh95 · 22/11/2024 08:24

Good luck today everyone, I hope lots of you get the award you was hoping for 🤞

im only 18 weeks 1 day so accepted I probably have another 1-2 weeks till I get a decision.. although won’t stop me calling today “just to check” 😂 xxx

Yeah, I mean we have waited for 19 weeks, so another week won't hurt too much. I'm quite conscious of the fact they are severely understaffed and probably are having a bad time with the calls all day. The woman I spoke to sounded extremely fed up and exhausted. Obviously, I blame the system and not the workers. I'm around the same date as you, so good luck 😁

sjay1017 · 22/11/2024 08:33

Hey guys
I posted yesterday about my son who has autism and is having a problem with ta in school, they were going to have an informal meeting with him today and rebuild a positive with this ta. Total school refusal today, and was informed yesterday he has actually been struggling from September of year 5 and end of year 4.
my daughter who is at panel now for adhd and autism has done school refusal from year 5 and hardly been school since and she year 9 now. I did take her out and homeschool her until year 7, but she hardly been school. we just keep having meeting and they say mainstream isn’t for her but need a ehpc for different options. Ehpc got declined so they applying another one with extra information but they needed to did everything they could before they could submit it, that takes time.
I feel history is repeating its self and it’s so stressful. I know it’s only two days but Im scared he going to be like my daughter. The stress of getting them to school and all the treats of court etc I find so hard, I have 2 other children that go to school no problems at all, but my Neurodivergent they struggle so bad.
I need some advice guys as I’m already stressed. X

Tacmumma · 22/11/2024 08:38

Hello all 👋
I'm new here but not to the process, although things were a lot quicker when my oldest daughters claim was done many years ago!

SD 26th July so at 17 weeks now
The wait is agonising, I constantly feel sick and anxious - which has certainly been an eye opener for a glimpse into how my youngest feels almost all day, everyday.

This thread has been a breath of fresh air to know that I'm not alone in this particular part of the journey, fingers crossed for some decisions today.

I've read of people mentioning a Facebook group, is there any particularly good ones?
X

I’m so happy for everyone that’s got awarded and will always support others. But these call handlers with their script saying at every opportunity that claims are done in date order when it’s not is a joke at this point. Never been so stressed in all my life I really can’t cope🤦🏽‍♀️

I know, and me too. Still makes it hard while waiting for our decisions. Every morning I wonder whether to call them even though I know I’m going to hear the same story of you made your claim on this date, it’s taking 25 weeks you’ll receive a letter etc. I was feeling confident of the dates they were working on but now we know for sure 23/7 received a decision when they told me 24th June scan dates were being worked on.

ThisHangryOpalEagle · 22/11/2024 08:48

Just found this thread again. Scan date 12/07. My son has been awarded HRC and LRM. I cried so much and so did my husband! It was such a relief and felt like we'd finally been listened to, especially after years of fighting with the school for even just the most basic accommodations for him. My husband can now officially be his carer and I'm so relieved I don't have to do this all on my own now as we have two disabled children and this wait has honestly made me ill. I'm so relieved. Sticking around and hoping you all receive good news soon!

Hi, that was me. The decision maker said they would be offering overtime as well as bringing in decision makers from other departments to reduce the case loads but if he was honest he thought it would make a 1-2 weeks difference at most. And that they were aware of the huge wait times and how difficult it was waiting for a decision.
