Hey everyone I haven't been on in a while S/D 24/06!
Received backpay today so she's been awarded 🥳 such a huge relief!! No idea what's been awarded though as haven't had a chance to call, it was just over £2500 paid in. 25 weeks I think.
Do we get anything from UC too? Do I need to ask them for it and do they back date it?
Also do I have to have carers element or can I apply for carers allowance instead?

Appreciate if anyone can help advise!

Hope nobody has to wait as long as I did!

Congratulations to you! Yes you will get disability element and carers element from uc. You need to know the exact dates you was awarded from then make the changes and request back payment in your journal. You can claim carers element on uc and you can also claim carers allowance. The carers allowance will be taken £ for £ from your UC thought x

I have just phoned back and told them the man earlier wouldn’t put me through to anyone who could tell me decision. She apologised and put me straight through. HRC awarded for 2 years 🎉

Thank you so much! Isnt the award date the date you called up to have forms sent out? I will call DLA in the morning before letting UC know. Thank you!

Took me awhile to catch up 😂 congratulations to everyone who got awarded 🥳. I called yesterday was read a script, and told it could take 5 - 10 weeks to scan my evidence (another script 🙄) think I will just watch here for dates 😂 it's hit and miss if you get someone helpful and it's just to frustrating if you get a a meanie 🤣

TeaG03 · 26/11/2024 16:10

Can anyone shed any light here?

MR won last Friday, moved to HRC. I rang Monday to ask something else and she could see I was still down as MRC, but she could see the letter said HRC and not to worry. 2 other people said the same thing as I called back twice out of worry because nobody could tell me why it wasn’t changed.

3 people have sent messages to the case worker now to see what to advise and I am fed up.

I am getting no straight answers. None of the call handlers have said if this is common practice (letter being sent but award not being changed on system), but they have all gone straight to the case worker which suggests to me it’s not. If the letter happens to arrive in the next couple of days I will stop feeling so anxious, but I know the chances of that are exceptionally slim.

Yes it is as long as you have that date make the changes. But you need to know if you’ve got LRC,MRC or HRC if you have the LRC you can’t have carers element, if you have LRC or MRC you get the disability premium of 156 but if you have the hrc you get the 400 and summit can’t remember the amount😂

Slowish day with awards. I think last Wednesday we had quite a few awards? Maybe tomorrow too 🤞

Yes you will get from UC. Give them the start date of your claim and they will backdate. Ask in your journal for a backdate. I didn’t know this until I read it on here. They don’t have a set timescale for back payment so I was told by a UC agent

I believe the system was playing up and someone else had the same issue until they looked further in to the system and confirmed it was HRC, unless that was you whose post I saw

bit quiet today! Hopefully tomorrow we get more 🤞🤞

Ali200 · 26/11/2024 17:08

Was told today it is with decision maker now how long roughly do they take to decide then scan date 19th July new claim

sjay1017 · 26/11/2024 17:09

Hey guys could I ask some advice about my son, he is a twin that brother is diagnosed autistic. I’m pretty sure my son is adhd, he masks a lot in school just is a people pleaser, polite and kind. They have noticed he need to tap and makes random noises.
This is what he like at home tho. He repeats the same song only two lines from it over and over again, the song will change after a couple weeks when finds something else he likes, he shouts random noises, talks and talks doing everyone head in, he deliberately winds people up and doesn’t know when to stop. He has real trouble getting up in the morning then just stands there thinking about what he needs to do, he gets a bowl for breakfast then gets distracted by what I will
say is nothing just is own head, he forgets what he is doing half the time especially mornings and needs to be reminded like 20 times, what’s next. Ie gets the bowl gets distracted, I look and go Lewis you are getting cereal, oh yeah. That is done every step until he out the door but it takes him ages with teeth and face wash included. My teen daughter 13 is at panel for adhd/austim it’s just my son is so different to them.
I honesty do have another son that I don’t have no concerns about. 🤦‍♀️

My son 13 hums/growls, paces, often won’t get up in the morning, has to be directed like a younger child, doesn’t dress suitably for the weather, hates pe and has refused to take part in any pe classes, he will chew your ear off its its a subject that interests him or you’ll be lucky to get a sentence out of him if it doesn’t, sways a lot when talking, I don’t think he’s even aware of it. Fussy eater no fruit or veg passes his lips, he’s stopped eating breakfast, at one point we had to have a particular breakfast in the house or hell would break loose, now he’s not as fussed, sleeps awful long periods awake at night if not up all night, very poor attendance at school. He’s diagnosed autistic and on waiting list for ADHD. Neuro that did his assessment saw ADHD traits and made the recommendation for referral. Don’t know if any of that helps,

Special24 · 26/11/2024 17:44

Hi just a quick question.I have other country passport but I have indefinite leave to remain. I m in universal credit. DLA ask for my passport and brp for verification when I submitted the forms. Tomorrow I will be 21 week. They said decision has been made but they are waiting for home office for verification. Anyone know how ling roughly it takes.

my scan date is 3/7.

PollyH3 · 26/11/2024 17:45

School report sent at lunch time. On a training course at work all day tomorrow but hoping I can get through on lunch to check it's scanned on and that the dm looks at it ASAP as past 20 weeks 🤞 really hoping I'll have a decision by the time I call on Thursday to chase.

Well done all on awards. My back pay was issued 23rd. Hopefully it be in tomorrow. I updated uc and wrote on journal. But they just verified the change - not wrote back or contacted me

i wrote about this before, they’ve done same to me, no communication at all just verified both kids are receiving dla
