Hey all scan date 22nd may (I think this was when it was received)
26th may a letter from dla because I forgot to add my nationality and relationship to child so sent that form off
today iv had a phone call asking about my sons sleeping and how it effects which atm he is on melatonin so it’s not as bad as it once was I told them all this and he has told me I will hear something in 48 hours?
now am worried it’s going be a no because it’s only been 8/9 weeks but if it’s good news am not complaining because I know a lot have been waiting much longer, so can anyone shed any light on the call and will o get a decisions this soon or will it still be a further 8-9 weeks posted on previous thread before realising a new one had been made Tia xx

How long did it take for them to receive your letter about nationality and scan onto the system please.. I rang and they said I've forgotten that aswell but waited till I was 18 weeks to tell me this. Sounds like your one of the lucky claims try ringing them today today see if it's been delt with. Good luck 🤞🏻

Sounds like a DM phoned you and will make a decision within 48 hours then you may be one of the lucky ones, just ring up and get them to see if it's been awarded

Really this quick so it don’t look like il be refused then as found it strange with the sleeping questions like I said it’s all new to me but found out they do it like on a point system, il give them a call tomorrow I think if I haven’t heard myself, thank you x

They actually sent me the letter about nationality about 5 days after I sent it back first class recorded, so they would of got it the first week in June, and when I spoke to them yesterday I asked if my nationality form had been received and he confirmed it had :)
id give them a call and just check they have updated that on you claim good luck 🥰

Why do I ring? Why? Today told yea it's a 20 week wait so you'll just have to wait until then. I said of the lady last time said 17-18 weeks. She said well there's loads of applications so it's taking 20 weeks it's in the case managers workload pile and they'll get to it when they get to it. Is there any need for the passive aggressive tone, I am super pleasant on the phone too. Also she asked me no security question so I'm guessing didn't even look at the file.....

I rang this morning and got straight through and basically explained my circumstances and they agreed to push forward as priority. Does anyone have experience on how long after this is done they hear something back? I’m 15 weeks today SD 10/4

Firstly a dm has to agree it's priority, just because call handlers mark it doesn't mean it will be accepted. Secondly I've seen people get decision same day for priority and some still wait upto 3 weeks.

It is quick, nobody can say if it will be refused or not because we don't know what the dm is thinking or what evidence you have, most are waiting 18 weeks plus. It's not a point system, it goes on care needs and whether they're above another child of their age, not even diagnosis based, it explains all that if you look online, pip is point based dla isnt.

Mumoffourlovelies · 24/07/2024 10:00

17 weeks tomorrow and plain fed up. Can't ring again as it makes me feel worse, is there any of us here from early march still? I'm the 28th so I'm sure there are a few of us from earlier still here. Interested to see the earliest date still waiting. My piles DM must be on a summer break lol!
Sorry for the grump post but the first week of summer break is always a hard one, the change in routine really gets my 13 year old and it's a rough first week.

Somebody mention 7/03 a bit up the thread. Yes once the pile allocated it stays with the DM regardless if on leave, maybe on Friday give a ring for an update.

Hi everyone, first post but I have been following for a while.
Applied for dla scan date 8/4 (even though it was sent 27/3)
Still haven't heard anything, but I've read on here about priority claims. Can anyone tell me what would class as a priority claim please?
My daughter has a diagnosis of ASD and ODD. The main issue is she doesn't sleep, when I say this I am not exaggerating. Her behaviour is often awful and shes very destructive. I currently have her at home with me whilst I'm working from home in the holidays, but I can't afford holiday club or any activities to keep her busy. The money would really help, although reading all these posts I'm not sure she will be awarded anything as I am worried I didn't provide enough evidence 😖
So stressed. Can anyone help? TIA

Robstersgirl · 24/07/2024 11:35

Finally awarded for 19/3 had a payment of £2444.70 in my account. Can anyone help me decipher what rate that is? It’s week 18 and I returned my forms late so I think they’ve awarded from SD.

Laur123567 · 24/07/2024 11:36

Hello don’t know if anyone knows but just thought I’d ask I called this morning got through very quick she said it was passed to a case manager a few days ago and I should hear something by the end of next week, do the case managers make decisions or does it need to be passed over to a dm aswell, scan date 27/03

Neadsvoice · 24/07/2024 11:44

So when it goes to a decision maker to decide if it’s priority what happens if they decide it isn’t? It goes back in the line or just stays with them?

Presume it just goes back to where it was in the holding queue

I really feel for you, it does make you more anxious when more recent dates are being awarded. My SD is 15/03. I called on Monday and asked if the fact I seemed to be waiting a bit longer was an indication that it has been declined and the operator said no. Think I'll call again Friday as I don't want them to come back at 20 weeks and say I'm missing information. Hope you hear something soon x

Thanks, I called last friday and the lady was polite, she said there was nothing they were waiting on and it was in the first pile, next to DM. But I was also told three weeks ago that I'd hear before two weeks were up, I know things can change. I might call Friday morning if not heard anything before x

Priority is usually given for people who have for example had to leave work due to school/childcare being able to meet their child's needs, I think most people could argue priority for destructive behaviour I know I certainly could, I dont think they would class that as a reason for priority but you could try 🤷🏻‍♀️ also with evidence I've seen people get awarded with no evidence at all (I don't get how you can be awarded with no evidence but hey)

I've sent in 6 reports from camhs documenting from first visit to most recent, list of diagnoses, list of medications, about 4 pages of extra information on behaviour, list of referrals made, my mum did an extra person who knows the child statement, my child's iep and ibp, referral for ehcp, a weeks sleep diary and a list of soiling incidents.

My child has anxiety, depression and tics diagnosed and currently under referrals for speech and language and asd with possible pda diagnosis.

Oh I definitely don't think I sent enough evidence. I got the CAB to help and it really didn't seem like lady who helped me was writing things down in as much detail as I would think they need. Although I did provide all of the letters, reports, paperwork from school etc that I had. I am sure it's going to be refused. Will leave the priority thing now and just wait it out.

Like i said I don't know if they would do priority for the reasons you've said as most would then argue to get it and there'd be no structure to waiting (even though there's none anyway) all you could do is ask.

I don't think I filled the forms very well which is why I sent in as much as I have, also as I've said I've seen awards with no evidence so you just never know what the dm is thinking or looking for when it comes to awarding and declining, they all seem to have different guidelines 🤦🏻‍♀️

If it's any help I'm 16 weeks this week and was told yesterday that it was out the holding pile and with a dm but could take upto 2 weeks for a decision so if not heard by the end of the month to call back. S/D is technically the 2nd april but they moved it to the 1st as that was my deadline but because the bank holiday it wasn't scanned until the 2nd but if it wasn't it would of been there before that

Thanks, I think I will call again on Friday and ask. I did ask last time if they were waiting on any other information from me but they said no. Don’t know whether that means no they don’t or no they haven’t even started looking at it yet.
