Shocking isn't it what we have to do for try give our child a normal life. He's been diagnosed with autism and other things he's 6 soon so a referral as been filled in and sent for adhd just all a waiting game isn't it. I've asked how he can go from having support to non and the head said we think he will do well this year without it 😳 it's puzzled me as he's teacher said he needs constant movement brakes he's disruptive impulsive violent etc so how is he going to do well with non of the support he's been getting. I don't understand and with me not having knowledge of who to speak to or what to be asking for it's like I'm one step forward 2 steps back constantly. I'm going to apply for a special school I think. Going to get holiday out the way and see what my options are.
Thank you for listening to me go on and I hope you have a fab time away to x

It really is shocking hun, you should deffinitely go above the headteacher and make a complaint they cant take his support away from it as its written in his EHCP which is a legal contract that the school has to follow. I only know this due to working in childcare (currently not working atm) so id deffinitely make a complaint but go higher then the head of the school. I think itd be the board of governers you would need to make the complain to or possibly the local authority but i certainly wouldnt let them get away with taking your sons support away from him when he obviously needs it.

it really is such a waiting gaming to get any help support or doagnosis for our children but i hope youse get an adhd appointment soon and arent waiting too long🤞🏻 and honestly no need to thank me i hope chatting helped relieve abit of your stress and thank you x

Just seen on the Facebook group someone with a scan date of 5th April has their back pay in their bank today. It was a new claim. Scan date 3rd April for me, so hopefully not much longer for anyone else with similar dates to me 😑

My SD is 02/04 , fingers crossed for us that we hear soon . Its disheartening when people after your date get awarded but maybe were just on a pile with a dm that is abit slower on getting through claims, they should deffinitely have a better system in place to go through the claims. I shall keep my fingers crossed for the both of us that we hear soon x

Im 03/04 too. Im not holding out much hope anymore because my sons only 3. He has suspected asd, adhd and i personally suspect global developmental delay as his understanding is probably at 18 months. Weirdly he talks more than he understands but he speaks in phrases 🤷🏽‍♀️

Bless him, it can be tough for them and us. I know how you feel. My son will definitely get DLA as he’s been on it since birth due to his conditions. I missed the renewal deadline as he was very poorly in hospital at the time so I’ve had to do a “new claim” again. My own fault really but I’m very impatient. Hopefully we hear something soon, fingers crossed 🤞🏽

I’ve sent them practically a book of medical reports and reports from school so I expect to wait the full 20 weeks. My son will get it, but it’s just a case of when. Fingers crossed here too, for both of us 🤞🏽 x

Mine is the same so this devastates me 😩

zoeybrooks45 · 22/07/2024 06:52

Good luck this week everyone. Hopefully we hear a lot more awards for end of March and beginning of April. If awarded please post scan date as it helps us track where we are. Sending lots of love during this difficult wait period. 💐

Molbee90 · 22/07/2024 09:12

hi everyone!
rang this morning, our scan date was 21/03 and was told we was award mrc on Friday 19/07 for my son with asd he’s 4 years old

Tiny1994 · 22/07/2024 11:13

Found out my son is entitled to care but on the letter says they will send me a form for when he turns 3 in November for mobility. Do I have to fill the whole form out again?

you only have to fill out the mobility element unless care needs have increased.

@zoeybrooks45 thank you 😊

Garfield456 · 22/07/2024 11:32

Congrats on awards 😊. Anyone have any idea how long UC take to pay backdated money once they have made the decision, from their own experience? Not meaning to sound grabby but we already all wait long enough for our kids to be awarded dla without long waits again.

Pawtucketbrew · 22/07/2024 11:51

Jumping on here again as Dd's award is up for renewal 18/10. Form was actually sent out early June and I've just sat on it, mainly because I find it quite anxiety inducing to fill out. Finally did it this weekend. Printing out evidence today and will post tomorrow. Last time we had to do an MR with a positive result.

My main worry with current CoL is that that money is so vital to DDs wellbeing and I think I won't get it renewed in time. I think it's about 12 weeks until it stops (she was only awarded for a year). I wish renewals were faster although I've only got myself to blame for sitting in the form.

Garfield456 · 22/07/2024 11:59

@Pawtucketbrew they should do the renewal before your claim runs out

RainyDreams · 22/07/2024 13:14

Hi, I've just had my letter through and it seems they've completely disregarded all the care my son receives at night and only put that he needs extra care throughout the day.
What's the best way to do a mandatory reconsideration. Should I phone to tell them I am doing it and then write to them or just write to them to tell them?
Thank you x

SD 15/03 - called for third time today, told to call back after 20 weeks (I’m currently 18 +3) operator said it was in processing queue. I asked what was holding it up and they said nothing on system to say they need extra information, it’s just that is taking 20 weeks. Called a week ago and was told it was with a decision maker. Just thought I would give an update incase there are any other frustrated parents like myself with mid May scan date

Sounds like your claim is in the same pile as mine and we have a lazy dm.
I'm 18/3 and still not delt with. I rang Friday first ever time and was told 20 weeks and she was so rude put me off ringing again.
Hopefully we here something soon

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I was thinking of you when I posted, I noticed
our scan dates are similar. The person I spoke to was really pleasant but he just didn’t have any information to give me what so ever. He sent message to the DM to see if there was a problem with my claim, like needing extra info, but that’s as far as I got. I’ll let you know if I hear any news, give us mid March people some hope 😃

It's ridiculous isn't it. I have loads of wild theories running through my head lol one is evidence are they doing ones with little evidence first and most evidence last or we just with same dm who's slow I don't I'm sick of been kept in the dark, we live in 2024 most things are online why don't they save time and money and update system it's terrible. Thank you I'll keep you updated also ☺️
