Hopefully we do but ill be the one that as to wait the full 20 weeks lol..

Crystalsangel08 · 20/07/2024 18:44

In 17+1 today seeing so many with my sc and even a few later is so frustrating been told so many different things and after each call (4 in total) I say I won't ring again 😩

zoeybrooks45 · 20/07/2024 19:53

Can someone confirm the number to avoid the agency staff. They always give bad information. When I call Monday I want an update on whether it’s with DM lol not the generic “20 week wait and that’s it”.

I rang the 523 way yesterday and they were useless.. I think your just told anything to get you off the phone. I've read on here you get some that will tell you the others don't. Was my first time ringing and I won't be ringing again she was so rude

Oh god thats aweful , this is why i darent phone up . I hate phonecalls so much and get really anxious when on the phone even iff its phoning the doctors or my sons nursery my anxiety is through the roof.
i was thinking i may ring up in 2weeks time just to see iff they could give me time scale just as peace of mind as going away for a few days begining of august . But i dont think ill bother phoning up seems like the majority of the call handlers are rude and not very nice so ill just wait it out i guess haha x

I'd give them a ring the once you never no lol. I am going away next week so was hoping it would all be sorted so I wasn't worrying but still isn't so just going to try put it back of my mind till we're home x

Yeah thats true , i think ill wait till the friday before i go away to phone up as ill be 17weeks 3days then . Im just constantly stressed and worried over it day&night my son is only sleeping between 2-4hours a night and i spend half of that tossing and turning as my brain just wont shut off with the worry and stress of it all. I would phone up at 18weeks but ill be away that week so phoning the friday before will probably be best as it might put mind at ease whilst im away , thats iff i manage to pluck up the courage to actually phone up haha.
i hope you have a lovely time away next week and hopefully you will hear soon 🤞🏻 x

yeah ive seen that people always get told different things each time they phone up which is another thing putting me off calling as iff i called and was told it was top of pile or with a dm (even iff this wasnt true) id get my hopes up . So im trying to hold off phoning for as long as possible as i know iff i phone itll most likely be the only time i do phone them . i really hope you hear soon and have a decision soon lovely , this waiting for a decision is aweful and im only nearly at 16weeks i cant imagine how stressful this must be for you as you have been waiting soo much longer x

Yeah my son don't sleep but I also have another child who as sleep apnea and nose bleeds so she don't sleep well either it's awful isn't it then you have to basically beg for help to a stranger that decides if you're going to get help or not. It's my first ever time claiming and I'm starting to wish I never.
Thank you I'm going to try enjoy my holiday I hope you have a good time to ☺️ x

Yeah I've been battling to find out what's up with my son since he was 16 months old I was told he was just delayed at first made out to believe it was all in my head then he started school and things were more clear it was a relief that I wasn't insane there was something wrong it's wrong the way we need to fight for everything. Now they wanting to do more assessments on him it's never ending. I'm struggling to manage with work and his needs some nights he sleeps for an hour and other nights he will sleep for 3 im meantly and physically drained but I can't afford to not work. I've put him in a holiday club for sen children he starts when we back from our holiday, if I didn't it would be a total nightmare trying to get him back to school as he needs constant routine and he don't cope with change also I can't have to much time off work. Hopefully he is awarded and I can afford to get him more support as school are now saying his funding doesn't cover what he needs at school, I don't understand how he can go from 1on1 support sen plan ehcp to nothing in September, I've no experience of what to do or even who to contact and still awaiting senco meeting at school what I've been waiting for since last September they say she's always busy. It's like they want funding but don't want to use it on the child it's for. I'm going to try enjoy our holiday amd figure out what to do next a bit closer to September x

S/d was 11/03, awarded HRC & LRM on 18/07.

I rang on 17/07 and was told to wait anothet 10 days so I was pleasantly surprised to get our award in the post the next day.

Can anyone tell me about what I need for carers allowance....what do we need to qualify?

Congratulations on the award you need to be earning less then £151 a week, just fill in form online and they ask for your child reference number so they can see who you will be caring for send of payslips unless you don't work then you don't have to send anything of I don't think, hope that helps it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months from what I have heard

Oh i can relate to that i noticed signs and traits of autism in my son from an early age and he didnt meet his milestones when he should of but i waited till he was 18months before i phoned health visitor to raise my concerns, she came out done an assessment had concerns too and reffered us to peadiatrician then we waited over 6months for our first appointment with them and it was only a trainee one she was aweful and just said “its probably just a phase” then 6months later we had another appointment with the trainee peadiatrician and she reffered my son to the pathway. Hes been on the pathway for 16months and i got told sometime last month that im look at feb-march 2025 for the final diagnosis appointment which means the assessment process wont begin untill begining of jan2025. And he is struggling soo much at nursery too myself and the manager/senco at nursery have been filling out ehcp so that its ready for september to get the ball rolling with that , but the manager/senco has said if the EHCP dont get approved so my son can have the support he needs whilst there then he may not be able to stay in the setting as he and his meltdowns and challenging behaviours are getting more difficult to manage/cope with . So im just feeling so worn out and stressed out and just mentally and physically exhausted to but i wont stop fighting for my son.
thats aweful that your sons support has been taking away from him surely they cant do that as the EHCP is a legal contract that the school or setting the child attends has to follow , id deffinitely seek advice from citezens advice or somewhere or even go to someone higher then the head of the school like the goveners im sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction , your sons support should not be taken away from him .
i have my fingers crossed you get awarded soon and i hope you have a lovely time away x

Shocking isn't it what we have to do for try give our child a normal life. He's been diagnosed with autism and other things he's 6 soon so a referral as been filled in and sent for adhd just all a waiting game isn't it. I've asked how he can go from having support to non and the head said we think he will do well this year without it 😳 it's puzzled me as he's teacher said he needs constant movement brakes he's disruptive impulsive violent etc so how is he going to do well with non of the support he's been getting. I don't understand and with me not having knowledge of who to speak to or what to be asking for it's like I'm one step forward 2 steps back constantly. I'm going to apply for a special school I think. Going to get holiday out the way and see what my options are.
Thank you for listening to me go on and I hope you have a fab time away to x

Just seen on the Facebook group someone with a scan date of 5th April has their back pay in their bank today. It was a new claim. Scan date 3rd April for me, so hopefully not much longer for anyone else with similar dates to me 😑

Im 03/04 too. Im not holding out much hope anymore because my sons only 3. He has suspected asd, adhd and i personally suspect global developmental delay as his understanding is probably at 18 months. Weirdly he talks more than he understands but he speaks in phrases 🤷🏽‍♀️
