@222a Hi, I called this morning my daughters forms still haven’t been scanned she said to call in a weeks time, it doesn’t mean they haven’t received them, they just haven’t been scanned on and there is a backlog of scanning claims

222a · 23/05/2024 14:37

@Crazyhouse4 thank you for telling me, I’ll hold off tomorrow calling them X

AutumnalApricity · 23/05/2024 14:46

Tried again for an update this afternoon. Got through to a nice person but he said unfortunately no decision has been made yet and it can take up to 20 weeks which means I can expect a decision by 1st July. Scan date is 12/02 so not really any the wiser unfortunately

We have the same scan date, and I also called today and I have been told the same thing.

I also promised myself that I won't call them until then, as it is just frustrating hearing different things depending on which call handler you get, basicall

BlueyMama · 23/05/2024 14:55

15wks today and still not heard anything, not that I was expecting too.
Holding off on calling them is hard but seeing most people getting told different things or it's taking 20wks I just don't see the point really, congrats on awards so far!

AutumnalApricity · 23/05/2024 15:00

I think I'm going to just have to sit tight and try to occupy my mind elsewhere but it's proving difficult unfortunately

Hi just wondering has anyone else had issues with universal credit after reporting a decision change once awarded higher rate care thanks to a MR changing there decision as my son was originally awarded middle so only got the disable element of £156.11 on UC backdated awarded from august 2023 But now he's been awarded high rate care after putting in a MR and waiting a further 13 weeks and I reported it to UC 10 days ago as soon as i got the MR decision had 1 response saying they don't owe me nothing and that was 1 day after i reported change ever since ive wrote everyday telling them they are wrong and need to look at it correctly as I've Google it and spoke to cotizen advice and I am correct but UC won't give me appointment or listen to what I am saying and had no respone also called 2x as should be entitled to a backpay and higher amount on my UC award.. as now my son should get severed disabled element from UC now which is a higher rate of £487.58 and should be back dated from August 2023 sorry about the long paragraph but it is frustrating me and wondering if anyone else has had this issue :/ thanks 😊

My COC form was delivered 14th May and just got a letter today 23rd May (letter dated 16th May) to acknowledge they received it on the 14th May and it goes on to say to only contact them if I've not received a decision in 11 weeks.

Aussielover · 23/05/2024 15:59

Hello. Can you ask for an MR without 'new' evidence - I was told you can only do an MR if you have new evidence that they haven't seen before in order to have the reconsideration? X

I can’t directly help with your query but can you believe how shocking the service is ran.
i bet they’d have no issues sending out a sanction but trying to get a reply is ridiculous. I’m due to be paid tomorrow but they’ve some how fluffed my statement up, so are paying us a lot more than we are due, we’ve got the carers element added but no disabled child element as they said it takes ages to verify that and they have no time frame ( so why pay me carers now then too ) and somehow 2 of my husbands wages are completely missing off our statement and his work are so confused because they’ve done everything they usually do, but my god trying to get a reply from them is awful. Is calling them any better do you know or is that just as shoddy 😂

3boysand2girls · 23/05/2024 16:06

@Mommy2boys30 just curious as to why they are waiting until your little one is 3 to award hrc. My daughter only turns 3 in August and she was awarded hrc till August 2026. Maybe an idea to query it with them

I have just unfortunately been through similar after making a new UC claim last month after receiving a migration notice.

The response or lack of from messages on the journal is poor but when i've contacted them over the phone, there's not much of a wait time but usually you'll get through to someone miserable and snotty.

I gave all the correct information when making our new claim and by the time the first statement came in, they still hadn't done the child verification part which meant there was no child element on our first payment, no disabled child element and because of the children missing, they subsequently reduced the HB too as they said we had unoccupied bedrooms.

It took several phone calls and a complaint to get it sorted out. It's frustrating that they are telling people that they must move over to UC but at the same time, they can't complete new claims in a reasonable timeframe.

Did they text you or you had to call them again to find out?

I haven't called them once but now I'm thinking I should after hearing ur award near to my date.

Kla1913 · 23/05/2024 16:12

@Kmcx93 @fee Thankyoj for replying the other day I feel alot better now, I got her SALT report today and she is below average on a few things and even her teachers have pointed alot of issues she has in class but the SALT couldn't see any major issues even though they only had 3 sessions and her teacher has explained this, it does say she copes better in 1to1 situations so just going to ask for a meeting with SENCO and see were that takes me, xx

The last time I did a MR, you didn't need any additional evidence but if you have any, it will be useful as with a MR, I just think they look at all the information they already have in the same way and stick with their original decision - that's what I've found by personal experience.

With your MR, I think sometimes they try and make you do it over the phone but do it yourself on paper as you'll have more time to think and write a detailed view on why you disagree with their decision and then reference any evidence you've sent to back this up.
