Anyone else had wait weeks for UC backpay I been waiting 3 weeks now and still nothing and everytime I write on my journal they don't reply so then I ring n they basically no time scale it will take as long as it take which is annoying as other people get it within a week x

@Sarahdestiny last year when i was awarded dla for my son I got mine within 3 days Id seen how long it was taking for them to get back to people and backdate so I waited 2 days wrote on my journal and said I was struggling for money and it was making life at home even harder due to waiting on the back pay and I needed the back pay to purchase things my son so desperately needed and asked for an advance as it was a change in circumstances due to now being eligible for the disabled child element I wrote this as they hadn’t replied at all since changing my circumstances and they told me their wasn’t no advances available and the decision maker had worked out the back pay and it would be in my account in 48 hours you could maybe try that and hopefully they will reply x

Can I ask some advice please. I've recently been granted DLA for my son's. My deadline to move across to UC has arrived literally at the same time as being awarded.
Can anybody advise on what I'm meant to claim I've seen people say something about disability elements or carers something or other .... I honestly have looked but .. I just don't know how it works or what's best to claim I've never worked with benefits until now and I feel so overwhelmed and lost with it all 🥺😔
