Is there a difference between a DM and CM or are they basically the same x

@Petal45 the person I was talking to said they was the same but god nows with them x

Just I was told in que for CM I did assume its the same but wanted to just ask lol 😆 😅

27th of October scan date ,been told if I don't hear by the 4th of March to call back .

Scan date 19/10
just got off the phone, been told it’s been with a decision maker since Monday, and I should get a decision by the end of next week…
They really weren’t joking with those 20 weeks… 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

We have a decline! They’ve said that he doesn’t need any extra help, Tourette’s has fits and is awaiting adhd autism diagnosis, the dm refused to contact our doctor and his sen teacher!

I’m so confused with this whole process. I never received a scan date letter so I phoned up the other week to ask for it to be told it was 5/11. I phoned today because I have lost evidence, checked on my claim only to be told my scan date is now 5/12. So looks like a longer wait. So which one is it?

I'd certainly consider an appeal through MR
I'd be tempted to get letters yourself (from school etc) - and if you aren't already on the list to see a community paedatrician then I'd contact the doctor surgery to say you want a referal.

You can also contact your local authority to enquire about an EHCP assessment.

@LancsMcG yeah the guy on the phone said to consider a mr and to get letters off of teachers and drs, he has an appointment in April with community paediatrician I rang on Monday to make them aware of this, the guy on the phone also dropped the dm in it and said he didn’t have time to make phone calls to school etc because of the back log and how behind they are! I’m going to speak to school and see where to go from here it’s so deflating the whole process

@bonz2023 gave them contact details of school his gp, had someone else fill the form out from there point of view, sent them appointment letters and made them aware on Monday of his new appointment, I couldn’t get school to fill out the form as they was on holiday while I did it, hence why I gave them person contact details of the teacher, it’s ridiculous

@RainsbowandBunnies that was super quick for u!!! So glad Ur sorted. So I rang today explaining it's been since 1st Feb when I logged it all, he's said he's escalating it now and said someone will ring me before 6pm on Monday to see what the hold up is with the dm. So fingers crossed they sort it x

Hi, sorry if you’ve already said but ive not read back in the comments. What was your scan date? My son Also has DLD - surely it won’t be a decline I know the struggles with DLD so if they decline for that what the hell do these poor children need to have for them to get help they deserve!! My scan date is 8-11 . Thanks x

I will do!! 😊 Also if he gets declined then I will be appealing it!! Has your child been diagnosed with DLD ? Mine has and we are in the end stages of a Ehcp , the Ed psychologist said he needs 1-1 support at school (he’s year 2 and working at least 2 years behind) and I’ve sent the proof into these so they can see he needs extra daily help at school as well as home. . I can’t see it being a declined but you never know with these and some of the other people’s comments. The waiting is horrible!!
would be nice to hear other parents claim stories of a child with DLD did they get a decline or was they awarded , your the first person I’ve seen mention DLD. Fingers crossed for us both x

Anyone have any advice on what I can do with my son’s claim. I sent the forms off in October a couple of days after they arrived, roughly the 18th October sent. They are now standing by the forms being uploaded on 5/12, a whole month and a bit after I sent them off.

The nerves. 1 letter, one text received yesterday.
I just rang to make sure they received my last evidence which I posted two weeks ago and they got it already and she said it is with a decision maker.
The nerves.
I do wonder if that text at around 15 weeks is triggered when it a decision maker picks it up.

I have no idea what that means or how long it will take as my other child I just never bothered ringing because I just thought oh I will put it out of my mind instead.

This decision maker sounds like someone who seats on a high purple chair and we can never see their faces but they hold so much power with a lever to pull for awards and another for declines. All very wizard of Oz or chocolate factory.

Oh and then if I get the text saying child was awarded but I have to wait for almost a week for the payment and then the letter that was total nerves with my other child!

@XxNatty1xX yes he was diagnosed last year before leaving a speech and language school he was at for a year he's in year 3 now he has ehcp and has speech lessons a couple of times a week but no 121 in class at the moment xx

I think this about the text aswell because someone mentioned it depends on the DM who gets a text etc so if it depends on the DM then they must be the ones sending the text what is your scan date?

I got the text to say my son qualifies 31/10 on hold to find out rates x

@Gracie1909 I hope they get it sorted for you come Monday asap! They really do try anything not to backdate they told me wasn't going to be entitled anything... but I can see a pending payment from them for Monday... and it's not a few pounds it's money that makes a difference to children's lives. Also that I'm not entitled to COL but discovered I am. If we listen to them and don't check they screw you over massively then it becomes too late to get it back. Rant over 🙈 x
