Anyone awarded today with my scan date? 26/10/2023

I’m seeing November dates and dates after my scan date with awards.. why is my dm taking so long 😪 I see others with awards same day so what’s happening here ?

I am still waiting too, same scan date. Told myself I will call Monday if I dont hear over the weekend. Fingers crossed for us!!

Yes let’s finish the threads to the end, as people are still putting msgs on thread 28, 29 and 30. I get emails about it but it’s best we finish threads before new ones are started!

It’s such a long wait and yet we know decisions can be made in a day.

So what thread are we on 31 or 32 😂

Scan date 24th October was told yesterday it’s been with decision maker since 18th so hoping today or tomorrow 🤞 seen a few been awarded with November scan dates xx

Does anyone know if I need to let dla know about upcoming appointments? My daughter has a paediatric appointment for suspected ASD/ADHD. Thinking I could call to let them know and ask if they've made a decision yet!

@he1620 yes I also called and let them know, it was done over the phone so didn’t have anything in writing but she had a call as an acceptance for her adhd referral and said she would receive an assessment within 3 months. The guy added it all into notes on the system x

thought this would help
called this morning the guy was lovely and told me the current wait time is 15 weeks till it goes to a decision maker and then 2 weeks with the dm
i asked him why some people with later scan dates are being awarded sooner
he said it depends on many factors
some examples he gave were how long schools or teachers take to write back
how long it takes to read through all the evidence, how complicated or straight forward a case is
sometimes a application is ready but they have sometimes waited a week for a school to reply whereas some schools reply immediately

Do they always contact the school? I’m a little concerned because the teacher who wrote our supporting evidence has left and the new teacher doesn’t see that there’s anything going on (and masks in school). I’ve not heard anything though.

@Mazzie1 that does make sense, suppose with the majority of cases there is only school reports etc as evidence unfortunately as all these poor kids have to wait 3/4 years plus for a proper diagnosis, so I suppose then they would have to chase the school compared to some people already having a diagnosis which would maybe make it a lot clearer of a decision, my scan date is only 12/12, (rang for forms on 8/11) my son is 5, and already diagnosed autistic, ive sent them a 33 page diagnosis but I think il still have another good 8 weeks of a wait, but if anything comes back any sooner, I will make sure to update you all incase they do come back with a decision any quicker with already being diagnosed, doubt it but no harm in hoping 🤦‍♀️

the man on the phone said when a case gets to 20 weeks it’s flagged in red on the system as a priority so anyone who’s at 20 weeks hopefully not much longer

@MrsW12 i wondered this. Back in 2021 when I applied for my son I asked the school if they had ever had any contact from DLA and they said no!!! I wonder if it depends what other evidence you have. This time around for my eldest I have a letter from the school regarding his needs so I wouldn’t have thought they would need to.

It’s strange isn’t it. It seems as though it’s different for everyone. I’m 15 weeks on Wednesday and have held off calling, but I have ADhD myself, so am really anxious about it all. I’m on hold now but will hang up after 20 minutes I think x

Had a text today to say my child qualifies!!!!!
no idea length of award or rates though as no payment yet.

how late were your letters? Mine were 5 days late.
got text to say my child was awarded today but don’t know if they’ll back date to when I called for forms 30/08 or when they scanned them 16/10

@Sallyt7110 16th Oct but my scan date is 23 October but I sent them in plenty of time so don't no why they took that long to scan on x
