Child disability element universal credit

Hi,

Does anyone know if universal credit back date the child disability element from when you first called dla for the claim form (which dla too will back date) or does uc child disability element start from the date dla make the award?

I have just wrote a message on uc journal asking about times. So they escalated mine on Friday 10th they have said I will hear back by the 14th then it will be sent to be back dated I’m just awaiting a reply on that.

What have you written for it to escalated please? I've been waiting 3weeks so far and only been told that it's been sent over to a DM

I have just heard from case manager that it’s been escalated again, this is the second time now and it’s still not verified

I literally wrote I was told to check back in a week, is there any progress. Then I was told it could be escalated on the 10th so I messaged first thing on the 10th and said I want this escalating it’s been 2 week. So today I got back in touch asked for an update they said they had sent a message for it to be processed ASAP they asked me why I hadn’t informed soon so I told them I had waited 20 week for a decision from DLA which I received on the 24/4 I couldn’t report it earlier. They then replied and asked me to keep checking back that’s the last I heard today

I requested backdate 25th march 2024 and it took until 22nd April 2024 to be approved i then received my monies 3 days later. So 4 weeks and 1 day whichvapparently was quick! I raised complaint in the interim but was resolved by the time they called. I told them they should set peoples expectations obviously didnt listen

I heard back from the case manager this morning to say that carers has been added but not the disability element as they are different departments apparently 🙄 so hopefully me doing a complaint yesterday and it being escalated for the second time then i should surely hear back soon

Hi. I put request for back pay in 5 weeks ago now, I asked for it to be escalated today and my case worker said in my journal she’s asked for it to be escalated and the decision maker should “respond with any issues I have’ by Friday” does anyone know what the next step is now? Will it be much longer? Thanks, hope everyone else gets it sorted quickly 😖

If you don’t hear anything by Friday I’d put in a complaint. I’m only just over 3 weeks waiting but I haven’t had any time frame I’ve just been told they can’t give me a time. Fingers crossed your not waiting too long

I’ve just received a letter on my journal stating that they accept my special circumstances for reporting late and that my uc will be adjusted from the date of change, not really sure what that means lol I get so confused with all this stuff. Hopefully not too much longer for you 🤞🏼

That’s great news I’m sure I’ve seen on here there will be another letter to follow but I don’t think that takes long after you get your first one

I have been told that mu CM has got until 23rd of May to respond and them if I do t hear anything by then then I can escalate it.

They are paying me a single payment for 16th May but they haven't bck dated it even though I got dla in Nov. I sent a message asking why

You need to ask for a backdate x

What do I say x

Can I please have the child disability element backdate to the start of the dla claim reasons for the change been made late are it took months for dla to sort the claim out

So called this morning as a disision letter been sent out but not got it as yet but she did say what is your bsnk accoint details ect and sort of says to her how do I appeal and her response was how much is it youvare getting I said nothing ad yet so think I am getting something ?? As she wouldn't have said that maybe am wrong

Ring back up and ask

I put in a request at the beginning of march for my back payment! After leaving messages daily and ringing them too many times, I finally had a letter yesterday on my journal to say it’s been approved. Does anyone know how much longer they think I may have to wait for the money. It’s driving me insane

I got the letter yesterday saying they accepted reasons for declaring late, few hours later I got another letter with how much they owe me but no date of when etc, I’ve seen others say they got it in there bank a few days after the letter with the amount, so hopefully the same for us. Good luck

I got a call from my caseworker yesterday and she said they're not always informed immediately themselves regarding back pay approval. So she advised once you receive your letters, too then call and ask them to message your caseworker or request a call back ASAP as money can be transferred within 3 days x

I got a letter in my journal today to say they've accepted the changes from 20th November no mention of a payment etc though.

When did u report the change? Iv been waiting for my letter since the 4th april

I reported it on my uc account on 13th April but I had an appointment on 26th April and my work coach updated more so on the letter it says 26th April. So exactly 3 weeks.

Is that just for verification or for the decision maker backdating later
