Pb12three · 22/05/2023 18:17

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Thanks

@Mumofgirlsxxx what was your scan date?

20th march xx

nic00000 · 18/07/2023 15:58

@Lo89 it goes to the case manager before going to the dm. just rang mines still in the holding with the case manager ready to go to a dm. he said 15 1/2 weeks it’s taking on average but we’re 16 weeks tomorrow so who knows

Lo89 · 18/07/2023 16:01

@nic00000 ah thanks I'm calling Friday if I still haven't heard anything. The timeframes they give are 💩

I’ve just received this text

A decision has been made on your child's Disability Living Allowance claim. You'll receive a letter in the next 10 days. You don't need to contact us before then.

does anyone know if this is good or bad news?

I can't say for sure but it doesn't sound good sorry to say. The text I received said "We've decided your child qualifies for Disability Living Allowance. You don't need to contact us about this. We'll send you a letter with all you need to know. If you don't get this within 2 weeks please contact us."

Good afternoon can someone please tell me what the difference in between a case manager and a decision maker 😅 🙂 x

CHDmumma · 19/07/2023 07:40

@SuSunnyshine12121 I googled it lol, it still doesn't make much sense. Case managers are a lower grade than decision makers.
Case managers examine the forms/supporting evidence and looks at the condition/illness. They make notes on the system to help the decision maker.

Not much of an update but I've just spoken to a lady and she said the application should be allocated to a DM shortly for anyone around the same date as mine that cba calling up

Lo89 · 19/07/2023 09:14

Scan date 29/03 called 9 on the dot got straight through. Finally with a case manager should have a decision within the next week. Wiggly bum time 🫣

Jt1985 · 19/07/2023 09:18

I’ve just called at 9 and got straight through. Mines the 30/3 still not with a case manger. The women on the phone said the system been down all week so gonna delay again! She saying it goes to a decision maker around 16 weeks apparently! Mine will be 16 weeks tomorrow. We will see!!

What date is yours?

PhoenixB19 · 19/07/2023 09:36

I called at 9 and got straight through I was actually shocked... anyway she told me Will be going to a DM by end of this week as its week 16 for me scan date 30/03 , they said they're also working weekends so anyone around same date as me could possibly get a text even over the weekend, but also it can take the DM upto 10 days to make a decision.
they've told me so many different things over the weeks who knows ehh 🤔🤣

Lolli0511 · 19/07/2023 09:39

5th April. Just hoping they get a move on and get March completed

Jt1985 · 19/07/2023 10:08

Me too I’m getting sick of waiting now😬I’m just hoping they award it so I don’t have to go to MR as I think that will tip me over 😬😬😬

Ch91 · 19/07/2023 10:09

@Lolli0511 I rang up and spoke to a lovely man, he told me the same. He said they are currently working up to the end of March x

Lolli0511 · 19/07/2023 10:15

@Jt1985 This process needs to be simplified and shortened because we go through enough as parents let alone caring for our little ones with additional needs! Fingers crossed you here before the weeks out.

@Ch91 Some consistency as I spoke to a lady 👏🏼 at least they've been briefed the same information, now heres to hoping they stick to it

I know!! I’ve been told that many time scales it stresses me out!! Online it still says 12 weeks from the day you call to the end! Which is obviously incorrect! I’m just hoping they don’t need additional information from the school as they break up this Friday and I’m quite sure the school won’t be working over the 6 weeks. 😬😬😬

Ch91 · 19/07/2023 10:27

@Jt1985 I didn't think of that 😳 surely they wouldn't make us wait for the schools to go back for more info that's just ridiculous. That would be 21 weeks 😭

Jt1985 · 19/07/2023 10:30

I hope not!! 🫣I just hope they call the doctor instead as surely they must be aware of the holidays the decision makers 🙏

Chloe1233 · 19/07/2023 10:42

They told me the same thing for the 5th April I've not long got of the phone to them

Lolli0511 · 19/07/2023 10:49

@Ch91 @Jt1985 What a nightmare! The fact they have so many decision makers that are just term time let's hope they use their common sense and contact them ASAP if needed or just keep that in mind when it comes to making a decision.

Jt1985 · 19/07/2023 10:58

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣let’s hope 🙏

JimnJoyce · 19/07/2023 11:02

can't wait for this to all be over and by the sounds of it I still have at least another month to wait

Jellyfish00 · 19/07/2023 11:58

My scan date is 30/3. I called on Monday to ask if it’s with a decision maker yet and was told it would be assigned that day and I should hopefully have a decision on Monday or Tuesday. Called again today and it’s still not with a decision maker. It’s now in an ‘overtime queue’ and hopefully should be assigned to a decision maker this weekend. I’ve just asked to make a complaint and I’m waiting for a call back from a manager. I just think waiting over 16 weeks before they even assign it to be looked at is an absolute disgrace.

nic00000 · 19/07/2023 12:06

29.03 had a decision maker on the phone to say we’ve been successful. couldn’t tell me the award but greatful for whatever x

Chocolateandstrawberries · 19/07/2023 12:14

I’ve got a while yet then!
my scan date is 03/05
I did call last week and she said it’s going to case manager -.-
I think it’s awful in how long you have to wait for support tbh
