DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

My scan date was 20th March and I got awarded 4th July! It went to a decision maker on the morning and I got the text I’m the afternoon. I think they say one thing and do another! xx

i spoke to someone this morning he said he has no idea why it’s taking so long he can’t see that the DM has requested more info as there’s nothing on file
i said it’s frustrating when April claims are being awarded and I’ve still had no decision
i think it’s more than likely going to be declined even tho Ive sent in about 7/8 PSP from the school doctors letters ect
I’m not going to ring again and just wait for the letter 😩 x

Hi guys my scan date 29 Mach. I just woke up pending payment on my account I called on Friday was not with Dm. Good good luck everyone

@Mummy323 congratulations 🥳 my bank is so crusty the one I chose for it to go in I can't see my pending. Same scan date as you if I haven't heard by Thursday I'm calling

@Mummy323 congratulations.. can I ask how you can see pending payment for incoming on your account. I can't seem to suss it or am I being totally thick.

I think it’s when you go on your online banking and at the top it shows recent transactions that are pending to leave but also shows payments pending to be received too

It's only some accounts, I have a Monzo account which allows you to see pending payments but my Barclays doesnt

This is becoming so frustrating now.
was assigned with a dm 7 days ago.
still no decision. Yet people from 13th april are receiving payments already.
how can people from 20-24th march still be waiting!!!

Anyone got a update on the 5th April?

I’m 3rd April called today and not yet been assigned but she said should be by next Monday x

Hi just wanted to join on this thread ! We have a scan date of 29th March and I still haven’t heard anything, rung on Thursday last week he said should go to the DM by end of the week and should hear something next week by the end of the week ! So worried about it. It would be really useful for my son for us to get a bit extra for all the things he needs. Has anyone got any news yet with the same scan date ?

The frustration continues!! Phoned today and because there systems have malfunctioned no decision makers can see the documents meaning until it’s fixed no decisions will be made today.
I am fuming as the DM which was assigned mine last Tuesday immediately looked and asked for additional information I missed two tick boxes and my relationship to my daughter and my nationality. The DM decided to send me out a letter rather than calling and still haven’t got it. She then sets a timer for 3 weeks to re look. My scan date is 24th March. She said a lot of DM are part time and a lot around the next two months will be taking annual leave so further delays will happen. I phoned and answered the questions with a gentleman who didn’t even email to let the DM know that I had answered them!! So she has now emailed the DM to say I have. I am calling again this afternoon and asking them to read back my answers from the phone call and emailing her again the answers to the questions. I am then going to ask them the process of how I complain about the service and will take it higher. It is disgusting service and the rudeness of the call handlers is ridiculous. She just said wait for your text or your letter. I said oh no I’ll be calling every day until a decision is made now as I’m coming to week 18 Friday. Sorry for the rant! I am holding everything in for not calling them again and giving them a piece of my mind. Also why will the DM not speak to the cases they are managing that’s absurd! rant over! Anyone who is wanting to phone i would wait for the afternoon as no one can see anything apparently!

Just received two lots of backpay so both have been awarded even though I only got the text for one. Scan dates March 23rd and 24th. Looks like HRC LRM for one and MRC LRM for the other. More than I was anticipating so I’m thrilled!

Having the same problem.
also 24th just called and she all she can see is that they have tried getting in contact with the school. They havent managed to do it successfully so far, so I questioned what would happen if they fail to do so before the summer holidays she didnt have a clue.
but this could mean i get a decline if the school don’t participate. Although i sent diagnosis for my son, which was well detailed. Additional information, and said and iep was in place and he is on sen register x

Just been told 15 and a half weeks minimum it was 18 weeks last week.
Scan date 25th April. Said he can't tell me dates they are working on. Sometimes I don't know if the call tome is worth the info received. Hour wait.

does anyone know if this is good or bad news?

Can anyone explain what the disability element of UC is? How do you claim it? Do they backdate it and how long does it take? Thanks
