Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Thanks

Congratulations! I’m glad you’ve finally got there. I wonder why my claim still hasn’t even been assigned when people around the same time or even after us have been awarded?

Jt1985 · 19/07/2023 12:54

It is an actual disgrace! I’m the same date as you. I might ring back and make a complaint too! as I’m getting told different things constantly! Sick to death of it!

Ch91 · 19/07/2023 13:11

I've sent more evidence to them. Does anyone know how long it takes to be recieved and scanned on the system ?

Hayles8 · 19/07/2023 13:20

Been lurking at this thread a while..
My scan date is 30th March and I've just called and it's still not even with a case manager yet. The lady on the phone said they allocate at 15.5 weeks so I asked why mine has not been allocated as I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and she didn't have an answer!

She did say she would send an email to get it looked at urgently as it's now over timescales but think she's probably just fobbing me off.

I also asked to log a complaint and escalate to a senior manager as its totally ridiculous now (I know somebody from a group I go to who applied in April, not under special rules, and she already has a decision, so it's not being done in date order) Also seen lots in April on FB group have a decision when there are still so many of us waiting from March.

Apparently they call back within 3 hours.. so I'll expect a call in 3 weeks.

Think I'm going to send an email to my MP too.. it's just ridiculous.

They say it can take up to 10 working days/2 weeks. I did send my evidence recorded next day delivery though and it scanned on within 3 days the beginning of this month

Lolli0511 · 19/07/2023 13:24

I'll be logging a complaint as soon as I get to 16 works so I don't blame you both!

Lianney84 · 19/07/2023 13:54

Hey I'm just on hold now trying to get threw. I've got some more info to give them after todays appointments with my son at home.

My scan date is 5th April If I'm told any different from ladies above I'll sure let you know.

Hayles8 · 19/07/2023 14:02

Wow so I've literally just had a call back after logging a complaint, I genuinely thought the lady was fobbing me off.

The lady who called was lovely and said she has now personally allocated to a case manager and they will give me a decision by the end of tomorrow 😮

She was really apologetic and said she will personally keep an eye on his claim to ensure a decision is made.

For anybody who is over 15 weeks and the claim still hasn't been allocated, definitely ring and ask to make a complaint and that they escalate to a senior manager.

I'd literally just finished writing an email to my MP so I've saved it in drafts incase I don't get the decision by end of tomorrow.

That’s brilliant! I’ve been waiting for a call back since 12 so hopefully they ring me soon and do the same.

Lianney84 · 19/07/2023 14:05

Just got off the phone my application is at the final stage now ready to go to decision make any time soon will have answer by or before week 16.

Ch91 · 19/07/2023 14:08

@Lianney84 you are the same date as me aren't you? 5th April? X

MammaLBlue · 19/07/2023 14:14

@Lianney84 I’m 3rd April they told me yesterday that it will go to a DM at 16 weeks then could be 7-10 days before a decision is made 🤯

Muva306 · 19/07/2023 14:19

Hoping you get your answer soon 🤞I’m 28th April, about to hit week 12 so still some time off now. I don’t have fb but keep seeing people say people on the fb group have been awarded that have scan dates in April.

MammaLBlue · 19/07/2023 14:24

@Muva306 I have seen that also! I even seen someone after the 7th April been rewarded when people from march are still waiting. It’s so confusing

Hayles8 · 19/07/2023 14:27

At long last! So within 90 mins of raising a complaint we have a decision. I reckon there is some kind of issue where some of the march dates haven't been automatically allocated and have been missed. Definitely raise a complaint if you have been waiting and it's still not allocated.

@Hayles8 wow! Just shows what pressing the right buttons can do. Congratulations 🎊

Jt1985 · 19/07/2023 10:23

I know!! I’ve been told that many time scales it stresses me out!! Online it still says 12 weeks from the day you call to the end! Which is obviously incorrect! I’m just hoping they don’t need additional information from the school as they break up this Friday and I’m quite sure the school won’t be working over the 6 weeks. 😬😬😬

Currently been with dm for 8 days.
They have tried contacting school, unsure as why. But no success as the senco is so busy considering its the last week before the summer holidays, making sure everythings in place for children with additional needs come september. Children break up tomorrow. Ive spoken to someone today who has sent an email to the dm saying a decision needs to be made. But i feel like hitting my head off a brick wall. I sent evidence of a very detailed diagnosis, additional information, a copy of his iep!!!!

Jt1985 · 19/07/2023 14:47

It’s an absolute joke! it depends on who gets your claim I think! Some fly through and some obviously don’t! Im ringing back tomorrow and making a complaint if mines not with a dm as 16 weeks then. And also why would they need to speak to school if you sent all this 😬it just stalls it!

Jt1985 · 19/07/2023 14:50

Congratulations! It’s a joke you have to make a complaint for your child to have what they deserve 😬. What was your scan date

Muva306 · 19/07/2023 14:53

@Hayles8 wahooooooo so happy for you!! Just goes to show the process isn’t as they say it is, because 90 mins is very quick for the DM to make a decision and update on the system to send out a text. They deffs have a flaw to their system

On hold to do this right now. As my date is 24th march. Been with a dm since the 11th still no decision. Already called once today, dm tried calling school senco beginning of the week without success, i have even left messages for her to return my call but shes in meetings etc getting everything into place for all the children with additional needs ready for there return. They break up tomorrow. I have sent a very detailed diagnosis report, filled the forms out with additional information, and sent a copy of his iep they should be able to make a deicison with the evidence they have. 8 days is ridiculous now x

mooneigh · 19/07/2023 15:01

I'm 16 weeks today. I am worried about phoning as can't bare being fobbed off again! they made me feel like crap last time it's sole destroying. I am also worried my daughter will not get what she deserves as I can't bare to go through all this waiting again!
Well done for those of you who have got through and have complained and are getting decisions/awards. My date was also 29/3 so in theory should have heard by now but all seems to be different.

I might wait a couple more days and pluck up the courage and complain.

Is most of the end of March people on here getting decisions now either in general or from complaining ?

Lianney84 · 19/07/2023 15:04

Tbh I've never been quoted by and call handler that is at the final stage now. Anyone else been told this before. ? Well I hope who ever has got March's claims get there bloody skates on as I'm irrated by the long wait and getting told allsorts and I'm 5th April. Also hoping with what lady told me is true because its exhausting the worrying is.

Lianney84 · 19/07/2023 15:54

@MammaLBlue that's crazy. As twice I call once last week which was friday that I would hear by the end off this as aiming to get decision out in 15&half to 16 weeks that was Fridays call.
I called today and was told pretty much the same thing. So hoping they are right.
do all applications go to the same office or are there several

Lo89 · 19/07/2023 16:01

@nic00000 omg congratulations 🥳 so happy for you. Mines finally with a case manager so hoping to hear soon. Woohoo. Have you called up to find out your rate yet x
