Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Thanks

approached 15 weeks and the anxiety has just got worse. Just when you think your near the end it goes on a little longer 😩

MammaLBlue · 16/07/2023 13:47

I had a scan date of 25th April for 2 children any idea how long the wait is I'm actually struggling to get by with their travel costs to physio and everywhere we go and schools aren't understanding when I can't get them in when I am broke . When I rang 2 weeks ago they told me 17 to 18 week and that's with Wolverhampton dla . My son recieved it before and I stopped re applying because I suffer from anxiety and the process affected my mental health. He's goin g to turn 16 I'm August also . This is driving me crazy. I don't want to call because its even worse when you hear something g disheartening. This process has to change its inhumane

Morning babe.
my forms were scanned on 24th march. Its been with a decision maker since tuesday last week. I am currently on 16 weeks 3 days.
just as a little insight for you as to where they are roughly working towards x

Kiki2023 · 17/07/2023 08:37

Thank you. Looks like at least another 7 weeks then

Lolli0511 · 17/07/2023 08:40

A new week, good luck everyone! Week 15 this week, begging to be put out my misery 😩

PhoenixB19 · 17/07/2023 09:44

I have just been on the phone to them to update a few details on appointments etc, they have told me upto 18 weeks now. I'm 15+4 so yeah great news 🙄😫

GG89 · 17/07/2023 09:46

Just called again as we are 16+3 and was assigned to someone on tuesday and still no decision.
absolutely ridiculous. Some peoples are being assigned in the morning and being given a decision on the same day.

I've just spoken to them as I'm on week 16 this week and they told me they couldn't give me a status on whether mine has even been assigned as that part of the system is down 🙄 but told me they're looking at 16-18 weeks now.. this is awful

user1471549817 · 17/07/2023 11:03

Called today, scan date 28.4.23 and have now been told up to 19 weeks and that’s for DM to look and then receive a letter 😲 I’m sure they make it up as they go along! I’m 12 weeks this week

barelyfunctional · 17/07/2023 11:07

I sent two applications at the same time, scanned in a day apart, one was awarded last Wednesday and I’ve had no update at all on the other! Haven’t received any back pay yet either

Jellyfish00 · 17/07/2023 11:10

I’m just on hold trying to get through to them. Week 16 now and no idea what’s going on. Haven’t had any communication other than 2 texts in June. Such a joke.

When I applied for my daughters DLA last year it only took 8-9 weeks and they sent me regular letters with estimates of wait times.

A child shouldn’t be waiting 5 months for money they have a right to

Jellyfish00 · 17/07/2023 11:44

So I’ve finally got through. They said it’s taking about 16 weeks and I’m currently on 15 weeks 4 days. Still not even with a decision maker. She said it might be given to somebody today as they assign the cases on Mondays, so hopefully I should hear via text this week either way.

Lo89 · 17/07/2023 11:50

@Jellyfish00 that's good to know I'm 15+5 today so I hope I get assigned this week what a wait it has been x 🤞🏽

Kiki2023 · 17/07/2023 13:19

Mines 25th of April and they told me 16 weeks last week

Weenie1993 · 17/07/2023 13:28

Scan date 18/4 here and when I rang last week they said I should here something by the 8/8. I received another text this morning saying we are still looking at your claim. Its really getting too me now and I can see people are waiting 18/19 weeks. They clearly need too put more people into that department because people who are putting in claims today aren't gonna get anything until after Xmas shocked 😳

Good afternoon.
im currently 16+3 so they are working past 16 week timeframe.
a lady above was told 16-18 weeks now.
and i was also told my claim was assigned last tuesday. I honestly at this point thing they say absolutely anything they want because no 2 callers actually say the same 🤣

Barefootandwindswept · 17/07/2023 13:32

Hi all, been reading this thread all morning whilst being in a panic phase. Our DLA form was scanned 20th April, we already claim for one child which was an 8 week wait in 2021. Was incredibly shocked to find out the now current wait times. We have applied for our 3 year old who was DX with Autism at aged 2. Anxiety is through the roof! Trying to get hold of someone makes me sympathise with the proclaimers, i’d walk 500 miles just to actually talk to a human within 30minutes of calling. Looks like us April lot are the next gen of this thread so good luck all.

mooneigh · 17/07/2023 14:02

I was scanned in at the end of March and was told last week I wouldn't hear anything until at least the end of this month or begining of August. I am 16 weeks this week, so this takes it to 17 - 19 weeks ish.

They seem to say what ever to either keep you happy (as to not have a meltdown on the phone) or to just get you off the phone quick. They have no idea! It seems to be luck of the draw.... both with wait times and decisions, it's so unfair :(

I was also ok for the first 15 weeks but now my anxiety is through the roof.
I know others have commented on the last thread saying they have got decisions or have been told it's 15/16 weeks but from what I have been told and looking at these posts and updates from today it looks like the wait times are getting longer and longer.

Hoping and praying for us all that things pick up and we hear something soon and it's the decisions we all want and need! Good luck everyone, easier said than done I know, but stay strong 🙏

Do you think they are starting to quote longer times to take into account we are starting the summer holidays and if any of their staff have time off?
