Pb12three · 22/05/2023 18:17

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Thanks

I so hope that's right what @Lianney84 has been told and not what I was told today (by a grumpy woman) that despite me being on 15 weeks and 2 days. I probably wouldn't hear anything until at least the end of this month or early next month! 😢

Emma2345 · 14/07/2023 19:49

@mooneigh hi I’ve just seen ur post I was told this I’m 16 weeks waiting on Monday 17th July I phoned this Monday 10th July was told it’s not with case manager or decision maker and mine wound likely go over the 16 weeks I thought it would be at least another couple weeks with it not even being with anyone when I called and it was just in a pile waiting to be assigned to dm/cm but I then received a text yesterday Thursday 13th telling me my decision and I was awarded it so it could be sooner id ring on Monday and see where their up to x

Emma2345 · 14/07/2023 19:56

@Vonald i did ring them they told me how much back pay and what rate I was awarded and said all information will be in the letter they have sent out to me and I should receive it with in 2 weeks but I was to excited after being waiting almost 16 weeks and honestly thought I wouldn’t get it for my son after seeing so many posts of people being turned down that I forgot to ask when I would receive it and when my next payment would be I may just ring them Monday again and ask

mooneigh · 14/07/2023 19:59

@Emma2345 Thank you. I nearly cried when I got off the phone. I'm so stressed out with it. I'm so hoping I hear soon and it's the decision my daughter needs. 🙏

Congratulations on your award 👏 Thank you for your response, its much appreciated 😊

Emma2345 · 14/07/2023 20:12

@mooneigh Thankyou,, your welcome and u wasn’t the only one I was the same nearly cried but was shocked to get a message a couple of days later I hope it’s not much longer now for you and fingers crossed it’s the decision you want,,, you can request them to give you a response by text and let you no when they’ve made a decision it saves you ringing all the time I was every other day then every week aha but was so happy to see the text on my phone because it tells you weather they’ve qualified or not this is the one I got then I rang them to find out rates and back pay excetra hope this helps

DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)
Moonmammy84 · 14/07/2023 20:41

Hi everyone I’m new hear I filled a form in for my son dla in March 2023 they scanned it in on 6th April it’s currently been 14 weeks had 3 txts saying there still dealing with claim and had one letter to say sorry it’s taking so long my anxiety is through the roof does this look promising

mooneigh · 14/07/2023 21:08

@Emma2345 Thank you again. I will phone Monday and request this. I've only called twice in 15 weeks but today which was the second time, the grumpy woman tellung me u stoll had yo wait weeks before i eokld hear anything, really didn't help matters. You have restored my faith Thank you and I too hope for a good outcome. 🙏

Catsandcupcakes · 14/07/2023 23:19

@Moonmammy84 Hi. They are just standard texts and letters. You can ring them to see if it's with the dm yet but I wouldn't bother till at least week 15. I got my decision at week 16 so fingers crossed you aren't too far away. The anxiety is horrible and I feel for everyone waiting right now. Don't worry though you're nearly at the finish line. Good luck 🍀❤️

LannieO · 15/07/2023 08:40

Does anybody know how long it a tally takes for the backpack to go into your account, I know its 3 to 5 day but is it more like 3 or 5 🤷‍♀️

Jellyfish00 · 15/07/2023 11:05

We’re scan day 30th March. They sent a letter dated 1st May to say they received it 30th March and it could take up to 15 weeks. I’ve since had 2 texts on 7th and 26th June to say it’s being looked at and don’t contact them.

Week 15 was Thursday this week and still no money or update. Haven’t been able to get through via phone. So frustrating.

Same date as me, don't listen to that though I have been contacting them once per week. I haven't got the patience to call every few days and I'm pretty sick and tired of this whole process I've never been so stressed.

Sophielx · 15/07/2023 11:42

Hi everyone so my scan date was the 28th of March and I rang Thursday morning to be told still in pile and not going with dm till at least Tuesday 18th July when it would have been 16 weeks however yesterday at 8.11am I got a text to say my dd had been awarded so I rang at 9 to be told hrc and lrm I honestly didn't think I would get it because of the wait and worring about everything so just keep strong everyone also I rang them 3 times this week dead on 9am and was only ever on the phone for 6mins even to get my award rates so if you can ring at this time good luck everyone 😊

Congratulations thats amazing.
my scan date is 24th march and it was assigned to a dm on tuesday.
When i called yesterday around 11am still no decision. Becoming rather frustrated now week 16+1.
i was told it only sits with a dm for 1-2 days we are now day 5 x

mooneigh · 15/07/2023 14:20

Does everyone get the generic texts same as letters (saying they are still looking at your claim and aorry about the delay), or is it just those who concent to being texted ? If the latter is the case, will they text when they have reached a decision?

Weenie1993 · 15/07/2023 15:00

I received texts and I never opted in or got the opportunity too opt out. Someone further up the conversation said that it depends if the dm has access too text service? Not sure about that as I'm still in the pile waiting too be seen. I have seen people get texts when the desicion has been made and then rang too see about backpay rates etc

AllGoodThingsWillCome · 15/07/2023 16:07

Hi everyone, I’m new here 👋🏾 Just wanted to ask if anyone had the same scan date as me 17/4. I called two weeks ago and was told I would have a decision by last week of July or first week of August.

Ch91 · 15/07/2023 17:53

Hi Guys, I've been silently following this for a while. My scan date is 05/04. It will be 15 weeks on Wednesday. I've not rang up yet, does anyone who has the same/similar scan date to me know how long it's taking? TIA

Lianney84 · 15/07/2023 18:05

@Ch91 yes Me I called yesterday was told should have decision by end off next week ... but they tell everyone different things so I'm not holding me breath. 😂😂

mooneigh · 15/07/2023 18:54

Thank you @Weenie1993. I seen people saying they had been texted with decisions but I wasn't sure if that were those who had opted in to be texted. I really can't remember if I did or not. I best phone next week as it will be week 16 🙏

Ch91 · 15/07/2023 19:03

@Lianney84 thank you for the reply. It's a very slow process isn't it? Hopefully won't be too long now. Good luck x

mooneigh · 15/07/2023 19:03

@Lianney84 @Ch91 They definitely tell you something different every time. I don't think they know them selves.
Apparentlyit's s taken about 16 weeks. However I'm 16 weeks on Wednesday and when I phoned Friday they told me, I should hear something at the end of this month or early next month. Grrr!

Hoping for a good outcome for us all 🙏

Lianney84 · 15/07/2023 21:59

@mooneigh lady I spoke to was lovely she told me they are now working on week 15 and aim to have answer by 15& half.. that would take me up until end off next week of what she say is right.

But like everyone I'm confused so many off us get told different when calling.

Sophielx · 15/07/2023 22:41

Thank you so much really hope the wait isn't much longer for you and you get everything you deserve I think some dms are a lot quicker then others I was so frustrated too especially being on the Facebook group some on there were getting awarded with scan dates 6-8th of April it should be in date order

mooneigh · 16/07/2023 08:51

Thank you 🙏
