Pb12three · 22/05/2023 18:17

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Thanks

24th here. Been with dm since 11th.
just got off the phone still no decision.
currently week 16 today. X

Jt1985 · 14/07/2023 12:37

I’m the 30/3 also. Today I was told I should hear back within a week!!! I get told different information each time I call.

Weenie1993 · 14/07/2023 12:38

Just a quick question when I rang yesterday I was told it would be looked at 8/8 so does that mean it will go too a DM by then ? Or i would have a desicion by then ? Because looking at some people they can be with DM a few days or a few weeks! Scan date is 18/4.

mooneigh · 14/07/2023 13:55

Hi All, I have been following this thread closely. I too have applied and my scan date was 29th March 23, I had a letter saying it could take 12/13 weeks. I then get a text saying it is still being looked at and can take up to 15 weeks.

I phoned on week 13 and was told it can take up to 16 weeks! However it is week 15, I thought I would phone and see what's going on and I was then told it is still in a que and I hopefully should hear something either the end of this month or beginning of next month!!!!

Weenie1993 · 14/07/2023 14:03

@mooneigh your so close ! Its so frustrating but I've seen people around your scan date being awarded and recieved backpay so hopefully fingers crossed you've not long too go. I find that they tell you differently every time you ring

Oli2927 · 14/07/2023 14:05

Hello, I’ve been stalking this thread for a few weeks.
my scan date is 28th March. I spoke to somebody today and they said that my form had been sent to a case manager and It would probably be looked at over the weekend on Saturday or Sunday. He said I should receive a text when it’s been done and to call up first thing Monday if I want to know the rates if awarded.
it’s been a long old wait. I’m so nervous in case it gets declined 😩

mooneigh · 14/07/2023 14:08

@Weenie1993 Thank you. Yes they definetly tell you something diferent everytime. It is so frustrating, it is actually causing me anxiety.

Vonald · 14/07/2023 14:10

Congratulations to everyone being awarded today ! For those of you who applied for the carers element and disabled child element, how long did it take you for it to be sorted? The last time I even added a note to my journal it took almost 2 weeks before I got a reply 😅

leeannmarston · 14/07/2023 14:19

Hi everyone, thought I would hop on and join in.

We sent my sons dla form in and they received it on 23rd May. Got a letter in today's post (dated 10th july) to say they are dealing with my sons claim and sorry we have not given you a decision yet. When I applied they said it can take up to 15 weeks so we are roughly half way in to that timescale. Is this just a generic letter they send out?

3mummy3 · 14/07/2023 14:33

Yeah I think it is a generic letter as I received one the other day but dated 2 weeks ago lol don't know if our post is so slow or they forgot to send it. Scan date 9th May, the first letter received also said first time it will take up to 15 weeks. So I reckon we will hear end of august/beginning September.

Haha 😄. . Can't stop you calling.. the wait is killing me too didn't realise my anxiety was this bad.. week 15 for me I've given up. I've been calling once per week & everytime I do they tell me another extra week 🙄... leaving people this long in limbo and we all just need an answer so we can sleep better!! I've been so focused on this feed and it does make me feel better that I'm not the only one thinking they're taking the p*... I have seen some on here that have had theirs declined after waiting 15/16/17 weeks! Like why would you do that to someone.. soul destroying especially when your child deserves that money!!!

Hey all I called earlier on and was told I should hear end off next week.

They are currently working on week 15 and aim for people to have decision week 15 & half.
I'm just over 14 weeks now scan date 5th April.
I'm not sure how true the ladies words are as well all get told different things.
She was lovely and so helpful and understanding as I had to report a few more care needs and appointments. So we shall see. Happy Friday everyone 😊

This cant be true as im week 16 today 🤣.
i think they honestly dont have a clue x

Lianney84 · 14/07/2023 16:48

@GG89 yes going by alot off people's comments your right it's all confusing that's the second time I've called for that reason. I'm just going to wait now it's not worth the stress have enough off that to deal with as it 😂😂😂

Lo89 · 14/07/2023 16:48

@GG89 @PhoenixB19 🤣🤣 glad it's not just me then. I'm 15 weeks 2 days really hope it's not much longer.
It is soul destroying seeing people get declined I think I'd cry after this long wait

Soph194 · 14/07/2023 17:00

Yes it’s a generated letter I think I also had a text a few days ago our scan date was 4th may. I called yesterday and now being told begging of September to even get to a DM considering i called a few weeks ago he said the 15th august lol. There just so slow. It’s frustrating isint it.

Emma2345 · 14/07/2023 17:27

Hi not sure if this is the right place but I have just been awarded dla yesterday for my son I rang up 15th march received form back 27th march, they did originally tell me it would take 16 weeks which would bring it to this Monday but I got a text yesterday to say award has been awarded I rang Monday this week and it still was not with case manager or decision maker for anyone still waiting and worrying or wondering 3 days later text saying had been awarded so it may be quicker then expected I was wondering for anyone who has been awarded already how long back pay takes to go in from dla and universal credit as I’m still waiting on both and would like a rough idea of when I’d likely receive it

Honestly its such a long wait to wait and then when they go past the time scale of 15 weeks that they say it becomes so frustrating. I think my dm needs a redbull thrown his way.

Weenie1993 · 14/07/2023 17:33

@Emma2345 congratulations on your successful claim 👏 🙌

Looking at others as mine is still int eh line it takes around 3 too 5 days after its awarded and universal credit im not too sure all I know is you put a note on your journal saying your child has been awarded dla but I'm unsure how long it takes for them too process the backpay etc but hopefully you won't wait too long think you've done enough waiting too last a lifetime !

Emma2345 · 14/07/2023 17:48

@Weenie1993 Thankyou, & thanks for your reply and I no I honestly didn’t think I’d have an answer any time soon with it still not being with a decision maker or case manager I tbicubt it would go over 16 weeks and have an even longer wait so was glad to get a text letting me no yesterday and yes the wait times seem to be taking longer and longer Thankyou for letting me no so hopefully I should receive payment by Monday or Tuesday next week x

Mammyof5cherubs · 14/07/2023 18:06

I’m 15 weeks at the minute scan date 31st March I rang today to see if they’ve received the extra evidence I sent in earlier this week they said they hadn’t received it yet and that it takes up to 2 weeks for extra evidence to be scanned in and that if a decision is made in the mean time then they will still look at the extra evidence to see if they need to change their decision. I totally forgot to ask if it was even with a DM yet 🤦‍♀️xxx

Have you rang them? I was awarded on Wednesday but I'm guessing I won't receive my back pay until Wednesday next week because the lady on the phone said I was awarded back pay from 24th March up until next Wednesday and then I will be paid every 4 weeks from that date.
