Pb12three · 22/05/2023 18:17

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Thanks

Yeah, option 1 , then6, then 3saves you listening to all the gibberjabber

Lo89 · 13/07/2023 09:31

@LannieO 🤣 thanks it kills me every time listening to that

Lolli0511 · 13/07/2023 09:32

Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting for March dates, hopefully you all get decisions today or tomorrow! I've been so occupied this week sorting things with my housing officer that I just realised it's already the end of the week, week 14 coming to a close 🙌🏼

LannieO · 13/07/2023 09:35

I'm on week 17, been with a decision maker for a week and 1 day. Not even ringing them again cba

Jt1985 · 13/07/2023 09:46

Yes it normally takes me an hour but I rang dead on 9

Seems like so many claims from the 20th-24th March are in limbo!

Lo89 · 13/07/2023 09:58

I just got through after 50mins. Scan date 29th March so I'm 15 weeks 1 day. Not with a DM and still could be another 2 weeks wait 😩

LannieO · 13/07/2023 09:59

I read yesterday a parent had waited over 17 weeks then got rejected 🤯 so I'm thinking I havnt been accepted that way if I am it's a bonus

Lolli0511 · 13/07/2023 10:05

It's devastating to go through all this to be declined but from what I've seen on the fb group most MRs or tribunal appeals end up getting overturned. Not what we need! But we need to continue this fight for our little ones

Do they think they could be waiting on evidence? Like they may have called someone you put down (a medical professional for example). It seems like an awful long wait to be with a DM otherwise, mine went in the morning and I'd had a decision by lunch time.

Gentleman i spoke to this morning said it depends on who is the case manager basically. Some might have more work load then the others, therefore taking longer.
if they require more evidence. But reassured me that they work in date order!

LannieO · 13/07/2023 10:33

I'm not sure but I will ask school, as they practically applied for me I hadn't even heard of dla before that. I sent alot from school like my support plan ect and taf meeting minutes.

nic00000 · 13/07/2023 10:34

@Lo89 mine must be with your pile. same date and still not with dm

Lo89 · 13/07/2023 10:46

@nic00000 let's hope we get some positive news soon 🤞🏽

Yeah I remember you saying, thats why I assumed mine would be as quick 🤷‍♀️

GG89 · 13/07/2023 11:32

He also said they get given like a week load at a time.
but every person you speak to says different.
a few have said 1-2 days with a Dm others up to 2 weeks.
which one is it 🤣

Hollie120490 · 13/07/2023 12:16

Defo 😂 I reckon we've got a stubborn arsehole who makes a point of working at there own pace regardless of the workload..we've all worked with one 😂 Jobsworth!!!

Hollie120490 · 13/07/2023 13:00

Yeah defo 🤣 its terrible we should sue them for negligence. It is so ridiculous if i dont get awarded now ill be do mad after this wait!

LannieO · 13/07/2023 14:10

My neighbor said if I get rejected send them a video of him because there's no way a 4year old should have this much energy 😂

LisaAbbieJack · 13/07/2023 16:37

I'm on the phone to them now. Been on 1hr 12 mins. My scan date is 04/04/23. Rang earlier and it cut out after 40 mins 🤬

LisaAbbieJack · 13/07/2023 16:50

My scan date is actually 05/04/23 not 04/04/23. Was on the phone for 1hr 25 to be told to expect a decision on 2nd August as its now taking up to 16 weeks. Not with decision maker yet. Ugh.

I called Monday and was told the first week of August, scan date 19/4. I swear they are just randomly picking dates 🙈

Weenie1993 · 13/07/2023 17:13

Hi all ive been stalking this for weeks (anixety!) I have a little boy who's 3 and half. Hes non verbal and is waiting see a ped too get an official diagnosis but could take months years centuries lord knows. He definitely 1000 percent has autism and maybe a sensory disorder his condition is definitely more behaviour. I sent off for his dla in April well I rang in Feb the post lost the forms so my official scan date is 18/04/2023. I've rang evrey month because I'm so worried he isn't going too be awarded he has lots of people involved has salt ot and a worker but he doesn't go too school yet as I I want him too go too a sen school. Any body any advice ? I suffer with bpd and anixety as it is and this is making me ILL. I rang today and they said its still waiting and it should be with someone on the 8th August.

My scan date is 3rd April , called today just out of curiosity.(15 weeks on Monday) And was told 16 weeks but..he said it could take another 3 weeks. As dm can have it for 2 weeks they just seem to be adding more and more time to wait,
