DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Evening everyone, Has anyone managed to answer questions that the DM has raised on the phone with an advisor if you’ve missed a couple of tick boxes off nationality, relationship to child? and two other minor ones? Is it likely they’ll accept that or will I have to fill in the forms they are sending me and send back. will this mean it’ll be released from the DM and picked up at a later date? So I’ll likely have to wait a lot longer. I’m gutted I’ve missed these off. My scan date is 24 March. I phoned today and was finally with DM after nearly 16 weeks and now sending paperwork to fill in the 4 questions. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to scan in currently as I am sure there is a massive backlog 😫😭

What a nightmare!!! If you can't get to answer the questions over he phone I'd just suggest sending it back on next day recorded delivery. I sent evidence just over a week ago this way and it was scanned in literally the next day

@Lolli0511 the advisor asked me the questions over the phone and i answered them it was very basic tick boxes no additional evidence needed or signatures etc so he seemed to think that should be enough when he submits to DM that he has spoken with me. However before we left the call he said send the forms anyway just incase. Ok thank you I will send next day recorded delivery signed for by 1pm. I was told on Fb group that there is weeks and weeks of backlog scanning but is that new applications I wonder? That gives me a bit of hope that yours was scanned very quickly. I don’t want the DM to release it back for me to wait an eternity to go to another DM!

Hello. I'm new to Mums Net so please bare with me. I don't even know if I'm replying to someone or adding to the thread. (Technophobe). So, my scan date is 4th April, anyone else share this date with me? I've tried calling twice and had to hang up after an hour +. Like we get a spare hour with our hectic lives. Thank you

Hi new to posting here I’m literally going out of my mind with waiting!!
my scan date is the 20th march I’ve still heard nothing
apparently my daughters claim has been with the DM since last Wednesday has anyone else had this? I rang today the man on the phone said it doesn’t say they have sent for more evidence ect and that the claim’s get sent in batches is this right?
I’ve sent quite a bit of evidence off doctors letter, referral letter and about 7/8 PSP from her school
this waiting is driving me crazy 😩

Question I got a letter that says the 19th may it says they received the claim on the 4th may what ones my scan date 😂 I did phone before and they said I should hear a decision by the 15th august. Thankyou

My scan date is 5th April. I spoke to someone on Monday and they said within the next week and a half it should be with a decision maker. So hopefully we may here next week 🙈

Your scan date will be the 4th May the 19th will just be the date they sent the letter out

OK, Thank you. That's good to know. I'm not good at waiting. I ring my Daughter every day to see if any mail has been delivered. Hate it when she says no 🤣🤣

It's awful isn't it, I usually have my phone on DND and hardly pay attention to my text messages now everytime my phone vibrates I jump and rush to it 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yeah it's not good. I'll try ringing in the morning from work and see what they say. See if it's the same as they've told you. I'll keep you updated.

some people are saying they have been awarded already with a scan date of 4th april, some 29th march. But seems like a lot from 20th march onwards are still waiting.
im 24th march went to a dm on monday and when called this morning was still with dm 🤦‍♀️

Hello all :) been lurking for a while!! I saw someone who also had the same scan date as me, 28th April. I called last Friday to check they had received my additional evidence I’ve received from a ped appointment since I sent the application off. The lovely man, Peter I think he said his name was; said that it can take up to 2 weeks for documents that are sent in, to be scanned and uploaded ti the relevant case file. Thankfully he could see that mine had been revived 30th June and had been uploaded already. For ref I had posted them 26th June. I’m just thinking as everyone seems to be exceeding 15 weeks, do you think we need to take all the bank hols in April and May into account? And that’s why it’s taking a bit longer?

When sending my forms back I rushed to get them in before the April bank holidays kicked off but I never thought about it terms of decision making, you may be right.

Hey! I have the same scan date as you. My evidence took 2 weeks to be received and added into the system and that was without any special delivery postage. I was told I should hear mid august, it’s hard to judge as lots of others have had an outcome much earlier than 15 weeks and lots after too x

It took me ages to fill out my forms, I’m not the best at sticking it 1 task and seeing it out….. I get way too bored!! So did it digitally and kept doing small bits and saving and revisiting another time but once I finally got around to sending off, it then dawned on me that May had 4 bank holidays so that would affect how soon I would receive the letter of confirmation. My scan date was 28th April, letter was dated 16th but i didn’t receive the letter until 22nd May.

I saw your message the other day and nearly threw my phone in excitement that someone else had the same date as me :) I originally sent no evidence because all I had was appointment letters and they say they can’t be used, his school referred him in Jan to Cahms for Autism pathway but since lurking on here I’ve seen that people have used the document filled in by the school as evidence. Annoyingly it was after the application was submitted that I had my ped appointment and that’s really started the ball rolling with things like getting the EP into his school and starting the EHCP process, referred to SALT and a few other things so I sent 3 pieces of evidence - ped letter to cahms requesting a BOSA, letter to the GP from
ped and the scoring sheet which outlines she global development delay. But could of of you
lovely people advise on, do you think I should send the schools part of the cahms form too? Apologies in advance - I’m the queen of writing essays 😂😂😂

I just got straight through aswel for once 🙏my scan date is 30th march and mine still not with a dm, he saying another week untill it gets assigned to one and then another week untill I get decision so another 2 weeks apparantly! It changes every week 😬

Omg how did you get straight through haha so lucky I'm on hold is it option 6 and then 3 you guys use?
