DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)

Pb12three · 22/05/2023 18:17

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Thanks

Just called (again) - scan date 21/03 - my claim has been passed to a decision maker today. The lady I spoke to said the wait time has today gone down slightly to 15 and a half weeks, and that all claims should now be passed to a decision maker at 15 and a half weeks

Pippisqueak · 10/07/2023 16:01

When people get a text to say if the claim has been successful does it tell you which rate you have been awarded? Or do you have to phone/wait for the letter?

Kyromummy81 · 10/07/2023 16:56

I’ve just had the text to say my son qualifies for dla. Do I wait till money goes in my bank or would you call ?

I've heard if you call they will tell you what rates but also back dated money usually hits your account 3-5 days after text and then official letter 2 weeks late. Also awarded today

Oh really. I’m so happy because I know that till will benefit him so much I work full time and I struggle with his sleep and his I go through a trampette ever 2 months he bounces so much they break. He’s my little tigger x

Makes absolutely no sense that april claims are being awarded when march claims aren't even finished or even with a Dm yet.
And everytime you ring there is no update.

Hannahkate90 · 10/07/2023 18:26

@LannieO yes I rang twice I wasn't going too but when my mam was awarded for my niece being 22nd and only in few days mine was over week at DM I waited few minutes at bang on 9am and 48min around 10.30 xx

CherryKolaKubes · 10/07/2023 18:32

Not posted before but have been following. First time claim for my teen son with asd and severe anxiety, my scan date was 14/3 and I’ve had two texts, that’s it. Seeing how many after me have been sorted already, I’m really hoping it’s this week :/

Catsandcupcakes · 10/07/2023 18:56

Congratulations to those awarded today ❤️❤️❤️

Hannahkate90 · 10/07/2023 19:29

Kyromummy81 · 10/07/2023 20:21

@Catsandcupcakes Thank you. I hope everyone else waiting doesn’t wait much longer. It’s so stressful x

Hey does anyone know after you’ve been awarded and you apply for carers element how long it takes or what you have to do my daughter has been on DLA since she was 1 then got re awarded on Tuesday but I didn’t know you could/should apply for carers so I applied for it Wednesday just not sure what it entails? X

Love this. Great news for you. I have a much larger bouncer she's 13 now but still when stressed likes a good bounce and flip. We wouldn't have survived without it in lockdown. Ours will probably go towards the million pairs of legends that don't feel right or if they do suddenly dont once they've been washed! I'm still in shock to be honest and I'm assuming we are low rate care but intrigued to have it confirmed

Good luck to everyone waiting

Is there 2 different places and that is why the are work for April and still not finished march ?

LannieO · 11/07/2023 09:26

Been with a delicious maker since Wednesday, rang this morning and still no decision.

LannieO · 11/07/2023 09:27

I think it is just one office, from what I understand they may be waiting for responses off professionals and in the meantime continue assessing applications therefore some later dates are getting approved first

Lolli0511 · 11/07/2023 09:32

What was your scan date? I've seen a lot of posts this morning on fb about claims being awarded around 21st/22nd/23rd March. Hopefully not too much longer for you!

All the 5th April scan dates (as I know there are a lot of us) I spoke to a woman this morning that said a decision should be within the next week and a half

LannieO · 11/07/2023 09:38

I'm 22nd...the lady one the phone said they go to different decision makers in batches and the centre that has the march batch is behind...suppose I just have to be patience 🤷‍♀️

Patience has been the theme for this process 😩 Hopefully you receive that text today 🤞🏻 Keep us updated

LannieO · 11/07/2023 09:52

I really hope so, thank you hun

Catsandcupcakes · 11/07/2023 10:01

@LannieO mine has just gone to dm now... At last at least that's a step forward. X

LannieO · 11/07/2023 10:14

Aww good! Here's to hoping you get a decision this week 🤞
