DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

I phoned this morning to be told up to 2 week my mam was then awarded today scan date 22/3 so I tried again 🙈 and had actually got an award within the hour chuffed to bits the wait is finally over and my son gets what he deserves no text no phone call nothing my scan date was 21/3. Good luck everyone who's waiting 🤞.

Aww congrats, suppose that means there hope for the rest of us. Have you rang twice today then? What was wait time like?

Ive also just called. Scan date 24/3.
Still no update and still not with a DM.
was told it will be with a DM this week and then roughly 1-2 days with them.
That the time frames go up and day every week, as of today its a 16 week wait but its not a guarantee. Im coming into the 16th week and no light at the end of the tunnel yet. I queried claims after my date being awarded and shes certain they work in date order but obviously not x

I have just been on call and the phone got put down after 40mins waiting talk about livid.

I applied for DlA phoned up 31march. My daughter who just turnt 9 been diagnosed with ADHD. My scan date 4th may: I have phoned up they said I should hear back week of 15th august. I have just received a text message saying we are still looking at your child DLA claim when a decision will be made they will confirm it in writing. Has anyone else had a text like this? It’s making me think she’s not going to get it. Baring in mind I have sent over 20+ extra pages of school reports, diagnosis report and mental health Letters. Anyone who’s in the same situation help would be much appreciated 😊

I’ve just seen that someone has been rewarded on fb from 4th April!! I’m the 3rd and not heard a peep there clearly picking anyone’s they want 😐

I am week 12 this week scan date 19/4. I called up waited an hour to get through and spoke to a lovely lady who has told me it's a 16 week wait at the moment as they are so inundated with applications. She also said I should get a decision by the first week of August. Hoping for my boy 🤞

Mine is 14/4 also said same to me hope to hear something soon I had my 3rd txt to say it is still being looked at

I have only had 1 text and 1 letter so was getting worried he had been lost in all the applications. Its been such a long wait already these next 4 weeks are going to be the worst.
Is this your first time claiming?

Hi.. No it’s my second time claiming it’s didn’t seem that long of a wait 1st time round. But this time seems forever
yeah they will feel the longest fingers crossed you get the outcome for your boy! I’m hoping the same it would help massively with his needs

And it’s probably because I phone every other week because my anxiety takes over and the not knowing drives me insane I’m sure I have ADHD 🤔

It's strange how the times are so different, I saw on another page that someone was awarded after 2 weeks of their claim being scanned this year 😳.
I hope it works out for you too, my boy is really behind on development and we would love to be able to get him everything he needs to help him so an award would be a great help for that. I have held off ringing until today because I started getting antsy lol x

Really strange there’s a massive backlog apparently its the wait for me honest 😂
it does help massively my youngest has just turned 3 but had his autism diagnosis last year he’s non verbal and days and nights can be tough

im literally going to wait now until 2 weeks time and phone again if I can manage I bet I’ve spoke to everyone that works there but they are understanding and nice enough on the phone

Just tried calling 4 times and each time it was like I got cut off as soon as I got through the recorded messages. I think their phone line may be down 🙄

Hi everyone, im scan date 30/03 and rang last week was told its not even with a DM yet. She said should be this week but doubt it by the looks of it! Every time iv called its been at least an hour to get through. Its very frustrating this wait.

That's what the lady said to me on the phone and said up to a 16 week wait. The wait has been annoying I'm constantly checking my text messages, the postman is greeted at the door most days 😂
My son is nearly 10 months old (we know it's unlikely he will be awarded but was told to apply by all our teams) he has CHD- Congenital heart disease and has majorly different needs compared to other children his age. It's like we still have a newborn which is heartbreaking on bad days 😢

I called at 12.35pm today lovely. I was waiting an hour, I hope you get through at some point today 🤞

Not been a regular poster but just had the text and I'm slightly in shock we've been awarded. Scan date was around 1st/2nd of April. Just on hold. Assuming low rate care. First claim for teen daughter. Seriously in shock

Exactly the same as me... Its getting ridiculous 😩

Just got off the phone (scan date 24/03), was told it hasn't gone to th3 DM yet but should be any day now so it's just a case of waiting a little longer. Hopefully it's this week 🤞

I know I've seen lots later being awarded makes no sense. 🤔

Just had a text to my old phone what must of been on claim form to say been awarded, only turned it on by chance so they must go off number on form , just incase anyone has changed numbers ,good luck everyone my scan date was 21st March xx
