DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

The 5th April is my scan date too.

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow at some point see where they are working upto. Its such a lengthy anxious time to be waiting isn't it ladies. But good luck to all hoping to hear from now onwards 😊😊

My scan date is one day before yours 24th, so we have awhile yet unfortunately, the wait is unreal. Xx

24th of may is my scan date so we're a long way away, but just here watching for others similar date to me. It's awful the wait and feel for you all.

It really does. I called last week and apparently it was 'still being dealt with'
Dunno if that means DM or not even there yet.

@yummy992 congrats I'm the same date as you I haven't heard anything yet. How did you find out? Did you receive your back pay yet 🎉

I rang Friday morning and it was done. They released the payment Friday morning so it's due in on the 11th x

I bet you're relieved it's all over with now. I might give them a call sometime this week then. I still thought they were only on the 21st 😩

Just phoned DLA - scan date 21st March so I’m 16 weeks tomorrow. Still not with a decision maker. She told me they won’t even look at claims until they are at 16 weeks, which is obviously not the case as people with scan dates after mine have been awarded. I could cry. This is so stressful 😭

I rang Wednesday scan date 21st and told it was with a decision maker..on hold now...let's just say its a good job they don't have offices near by what a piss take

It’s so frustrating - they clearly deal with some claims before 16 weeks, yet I’m told mine absolutely cannot even be looked at until it hits 16 weeks!?! I am wondering if they prioritise them somehow and mine has been put as low priority and therefore left until the very last. Which doesn’t bode well 😥

Mine has been with the DM since Wednesday too it's a nightmare sick of waiting am getting Arsey with everyone now 🫣 stressed to death

rang this morning 29th march scan date not with dm and he’s said it won’t be looked at till earliest next tuesday

@Lianney84 Sorry for the late reply, I've been trying all weekend to sit down and respond. I have high hopes for this week! Even though everyone is getting different (and ridiculous) wait times, hoping to see all the March decisions start coming through this morning 🤞🏻 I refuse to let this DLA application process get the best of me 😩
