DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

@Lianney84 Yes, I've only called the once the beginning of this week to update and was told 15-17 weeks. I'm being optimistic and hoping for the 15 weeks 😅 I've received 2 texts so have been checking my phone like crazy 🙈

Has anyone found out on the weekend 🤯

i was told that they are working on a Saturday to try and deal with the back log of claims.
im unsure as to whether anyone is notified on a weekend though.

Fingers crossed they do , mine has been with DM since Wednesday, am stressed ro death here 🙃

My claim has been with DM since Wednesday anyone the same , scan date 21st March

scan date also 21st March but when I called yesterday it wasn’t even with a DM yet 😞

@Lolli0511 yes me to haha. I know its a long wait as my youngest boy with him the wait was 18 weeks for him but end result was worth it.

Just hoping it's the same with my middle lad that's got adhd and pda and now going special needs school finally after being expelled from mainstream in February this year. Its such a shame for him but I can't do anymore home schooling especially when he's hyped triggered and not focused 😂😂😂

And also I have adhd myself so we clash endlessly living nightmare 3 in same house hold with adhd.

Mine is 24th still on the wait pile 😔

Also ladies not sure if any off you have heard off the family charity fund. Its where you can get funded for things like garden space sensory and equipment I was awarded £500 so I choose a playhouse for my garden for my youngest and I've done it all up for him so he's got his own escape room when he's overwhelmed triggered and hyped. It's worth looking into you lovely lot.

Is this the family fund , I had this for my eldest son

I had the letter today, my son has got MRC and LM. It doesn’t say how long he’s been awarded for, just says they will contact me if he needs to re reassessed. Is this normal?

It does normally state the date they're awarded for depending on his problems tho he may not need to do renewal my friends son had CP and didn't need to do anything till he turned the age old enough for pip

By scan date is it day I called and they stamped form (5th April) or the date on letter saying they received it back in (may). Tia

Thank you I have awhile yet then as they received 25th may my letter says and they are end of march beginning of April from this post

I’m 23rd/24th March. Hoping it’s not end of July because I’ve seen people from 20th-21st have been awarded already! Starting to feel very anxious about it now

Hey, still nothing for us this weekend l. 16 weeks tomorrow

So I missed their call Thursday I ran back and missed 2 questions they asked me the answer over the phone it wasn’t the DM just the call centre ppl. Anyway I called back Friday and it wasn’t even put on there he said there’s no notes so I answered them again. I’m week 16 on Tuesday I really hope I hear by the end of the week. It’s the not knowing if it’s going to be declined.

I'm 29th of March and I have been awarded for my son Friday last week. Hope everyone gets sorted soon x
