Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Thanks

How long ago did you let them know? I let them know Tuesday when I found out but not sure how long it takes xx

Catsandcupcakes · 06/07/2023 21:38

With all this waiting I'm starting to get paranoid it will get declined ☹️ seems like on different groups lots of people are having to go to MR.

my scan date is 20th March and I got awarded Tuesday morning HRC & HRM for 4 years. But I phoned Monday evening she said it would take 2-3 weeks. I phoned every day I was so anxious xx

Lo89 · 06/07/2023 22:10

@Mamaclo congrats 🎉 that's great news!!

Btw quick question to anyone who has an idea I've seen a few people say they were rejected for the fact of not including school reports. I haven't included anything from the school but have letters from paediatrician about her condition. Is no school reports something they instantly reject 😩

I really want to ring every day but i was worried I would pee them off if I did that? How many days in a row did you? Did they get mad about it? Thanks.

They never got mad once, I rang them everyday for like 2 weeks because I kept getting different answers each time! I would just phone you have a right to know 😊 xx

@Mamaclo Thanks for that. I will ring again tomorrow then. I am anxiety on legs at the min with the waiting, I bet everyone is right now.

I hope that's not the case as I didn't send in a school report, I did send 129 pages of evidence though so I'm hoping that's enough.. I'm at the 15 week mark tomorrow so I'm gonna call and find me out. I'm definitely worried about getting rejected, especially after such a long wait but if that is the case then I will go to MR and get a school report. I didn't get anyone at all to write a report for me so I hope that doesn't fo against me!

Lo89 · 06/07/2023 22:55

@Vonald hey neither have I. I have evidence such as letters from appointments and paediatrician comments form those appointments but no school reports. Ahhh I'm 15 weeks on Wednesday so just keep praying haha

Same, I literally went to my doctor's surgery and asked for all medical history relating to my daughters multiple allergies and asthma which included (amongst other things) many, MANY pages of 111 calls, hospital admission, diagnosis letters, emails that were sent between the hospital and the GP. I just hope they actually look at all that evidence though and that it's sufficient because I have no idea if I filled in the form to their box ticking satisfaction!

It depends what condition you child has as to what evidence they will want to see. My daughter is autistic but still awaiting diagnosis. I therefore have very little evidence, so I included the report school wrote when a decision was being made about whether she would be accepted onto the autism pathway (ie the waiting list). But for lots of disabilities and health conditions I cannot imagine a report from school would be particularly relevant?

I didn’t send any evidence or statement from someone who knows my son all I sent was his autism diagnosis letter xx

Hi,

You should receive a letter stating your scan date, if you haven't then you could always ring up and ask :)

CHDmumma · 07/07/2023 09:00

@Vonald thank you for replying. We received a letter stating they received our forms 19/4/2023. This letter was dated 14th June, so am I right in thinking that is our date? I'm so sorry this is all new and confusing.

Yes that will be it :)

Lo89 · 07/07/2023 09:09

@Pippisqueak @Mummyto4boysx thanks that's helpful to know. My daughter has Tourette's it's not necessarily having an affect on her education atm as she is so young she's only 6. She has extra help with her reading and writing as she is behind but that's it from a schools input. I have including paediatrician letters so hopefully it's enough 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you so much, we still have a wait but so glad we are making headway.
Thank you again for your help 😊

@Mamaclo rang again today... Got through quickly which was a shock. Still waiting to go to a decision maker 😩

Hannahkate90 · 07/07/2023 09:24

Rang this morning for update got threw straight away surprisingly Still waiting on decision been in DM pile since wed morning hopefully not too long now the man on phone was lovely saying a decision should be made by week 16 but they all seem say different times my scan date is 21/3 .... My son doesn't have diagnosis yet and I didn't send much evidence either just snap V form teachers had filled in for cahms, his adhd pathway acceptance form and statement of my friend whose also helps out now and then hoping it's enough xx

Oliv27 · 07/07/2023 09:42

Has anyone received there back pay In middle of day or would it just be after midnight 🤔 mine with the DM am checking for text an bank every 10 minutes it's driving me crazy need a new hobby 🙈

Pippisqueak · 07/07/2023 09:46

I just called 21st March scan date - so I am on 15 weeks and 3 days - and it’s still not with a decision maker. The woman assured me that claims are dealt with in date order, which is clearly rubbish and not what happens at all 🙄

i’m 21st March too and mine isn’t even with a decision maker yet 😫- sounds like I’ve got a few days to wait then if it sits with the decision make for days before they make a decision 😞
