DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

Rang up today my scan date is the 5th April they told me I have another 3 weeks for them to make a decision

21st March scan date - phoned up 3 times today, each time I was on hold for more than an hour and had to give up as I was at work and unable to hold on for any longer. I’m so fed up 😭

I rang Monday, Tuesday and today this week 🙈🤣 but today got awarded xx

Does the carers element get backdated to the award date of DLA too?

Mines the same scan date and I’m the same I’m at work all day. Usually when I finish I call and have it on loud speaker while I collect my son and it takes over an hour. Also I’ve rung and refused to hang up and they answered at 5:30. So don’t hang up they do answer. Mines not even with a DM yet

Woke up this morning to a large amount for dla but no letter or text. Scan date 23rd March

That’s really useful to know thanks - yesterday I hung up at 5.10 because I did not think they would answer after that

I didn’t but I was so mad for holding up I couldn’t quit first lol x

That’s great! Well done. I check my bank every morning in case this has happened! But no sign of it yet

Just rang again today for 24th march scan date. Told at least another 2- 3 weeks yet ☹️☹️

I just got through (scan date 21st March) -not with a decision maker yet - they told me 16 weeks (I am at 15 weeks and 2 days) 😫

@Pippisqueak that makes what they said to me 17 to 18 weeks 😣 there seems to be no consistently at all?

Don’t loose hope I was told the same I rang yesterday about 1.30pm and was told I was just awarded. I was 15 weeks and 2 days when I was awarded. Maybe ring up this afternoon xx

My scan date was 20/03. They told me MRC no mobility and backdated to 08th march x

Thank you. They told me on Monday it doesn’t go to the decision maker until week 16. Then i rang again Tuesday it wasn’t with a decision maker. Then I rang again yesterday afternoon and the decision had already been made. So I really don’t know how they work it out. But I reckon if you ring this afternoon you will probably have a decision as you’re only the day after my scan date. Good luck I hope you get a decision today. Keep us updated x

I’m at work and I’ve missed a call from dla how frustrating

Good morning looks like I have a long wait ahead of us our scan date is 23may anyone else with the same date ? Claim ends on the 22nd September . Also am I right in thinking there is 2 difference places that that the are sent to 🤔this is a renewal I have lots of proof with it but don't feel like the renewal covers all the things the 1st application did x school didn't have time to fill out there part as the children were off for two weeks so just sent it in with his isp and Letters from old school and diagnostic report Letter of meds ect school have said they will speak to them if needed so they are on my side with this even though my son has only been in high school for a year they can see how much he needs help and how life is hard for him x
