DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

On that group on Facebook people from the 31st have been awarded xx

It gives me such anxiety 😩 I spoke to them yesterday and they said it’s not even with a DM yet so I feel like I’ve got a while left yet. Just gone over 15 weeks so hoping to hear something soon 🙏🏼 Xxx

21st March here - not heard anything yet

Have you rang up? I’m sick of ringing I’m just going to leave it and wait and phone Friday I think now xx

I’m also going to leave it until Friday when I am off work so I can sit and wait on hold for hours! It is very stressful waiting - I desperately need to get some mental health support for my daughter but cannot afford it unless a get this😞

Well I phoned this morning , I should recieve my back pay at some point this week what a relief to finally know.... Good luck everyone I was awarded on the 30th of June but for some reason I've kot recieved any paper work or a messages on phone , scan date 13th of March

Yeah they are "saying 16 weeks" so mine would be the 19th of July. I don't believe them ive requested a manager to ring me. Because I want to know why they are awarding dates after mine. Also why they keep changing the wait times and lying to people everyone gets a different answer. They are failing the children that are entitled to dla. As of this morning they have 800 forms that haven't been scanned in and it's a 4 week wait to even be scanned. xx

It’s really driving me mad too. I’ve seen people on the Facebook page getting awarded for 29th/30th March. My claim is 20th March and we’ve heard absolutely nothing I rang yesterday evening and she said it’s going to be ‘another couple of week’ but I rang yesterday morning and she said it should be this week. Getting told constantly different things and I’m on my 15th week when it should only be 12weeks. Driving me mad! Xx

I rang up again today because im impatient 🤣 plus they all seem to say different. She told me about week 16 will go to a decision maker which then can take 7-10 days for a decision

Just got a text message from DWP saying my child qualifys for DLA and to not phone they’ll Send me a letter. I’m just phoning now to find out the rates does anyone know when they payments will start from? I like to be organised! Will let you all know when I’ve spoke to them. My scan date is 20th March xxx

Oh wow that was really fast. Congratulations 🎉 my scan date is 20th aswell. So happy for you. It should be backdated from the date you rang up to request the form if you rang up to request one x

I phoned up waited 1 hour and 36 mins got through the lengthy security and they put the phone down 😆 didn’t have time to ring back so going to ring first thing in the morning see what they say. My fingers are crossed for you I’m positive yours will be done too maybe they just couldn’t text you, I’d deffo phone up tomorrow! Xx

oh no. Mine still isn’t even with a decision maker same scan date as you. I don’t know how they work it out hopefully not much longer xx

Anyone have any idea how long UC take to pay owed disability element once it's with DM? And also if carers gets backdated too?

In a week mine went from not being looked at to decision made and the following week being paid , I'm due to be paid between tomorrow and Friday mine was delta woth on the 30th , she said know the phone this morning though that it depends what day of the week decision is made to when you will be paid but it's no more then a week

My decision was made last Friday and they said will be end of this . Did they tell you what rate you got . And congratulations 🎉 x

@Mamaclo congrats! I'm 24th March and still waiting. I am getting so anxious now that it will be declined 😣😓

I informed UC of new DLA status on 9th June, and it's only today I received a message in my journal informing me of Carer/Disability element Backpay and the amount I will be getting. So I'm hoping I receive it this week. My regular UC payment is due next Monday but the statement does not included the Backpay amount so I'm guessing it's paid separately
