DLA Wait Times 2023 (Part 10)

Hi All,

I have been reading previous threads related to this which all seem to be full so apologies if this is wrong (Im new). Applied for DLA for my 18month old son, scan date was 11/04 and had letter saying upto 15 weeks for a decision. Question is, i received a 2nd letter from DWP asking for my sons original birth certificate to be sent in and it would be sent back immediately. Has anybody else had this?

I would say she has been awarded if they are sending out that letter as I'm pretty sure (but don't quote me on this) that you can only be an appointee to a successful claim :)

I called up and found out. And she was like oh you are in for a nice surprise with my backpay haha. Because I've been back dated fron January and not 6th march xx

Hi I've been watching the thread and its helped me whilst waiting for my dc decision. Scan date 16th awarded 29th June I called up to find out. Could anyone help who has already been awarded and is on child tax credit how it works. I've contacted them but she said cant tell me the new award or anything about amount of backpack. Does the backpay go onto your online hmrc account as a one off payment or is it seperate all together?

Hi Glpo am not sure on tax credits I would imagine you would see it on your online account am sure someone will update you on here about and congratulations on your award did you find out by tex or calling them if you don't mind me asking.

Hi dad2008 I had a text message saying my child qualifies so I contacted via phone to confirm all the details and was told it was awarded that morning making it exactly 15 weeks from scan date. Hope this helps. But they also said some case managers do not have the facility to send text messages.

Mamacio my scan date was the 14th I called on Thursday was with a dm but lady did say I was getting a letter sent out about being my Daughters apontee so none the wiser will be calling them Monday yo find out yes or no .

Mamalco my scan date was 16th March and I had the text sent 29th June.

so our scan date was 10th of march not feeling very hopeful, will call tomorrow see if there’s any updates

I think the applications get sent to different erea offices and some offices are busy more than others 🤔

I received that appointee letter 'after' I was awarded.

Has anyone had any updates on the 20th March scan date or have any idea when they think it will go to a decision maker? Xx

21st March here - not heard anything yet, I’m hoping this will be the week!

I’m really hoping but I got told on the phone 16-18 weeks. I’m 16 weeks tomorrow so hoping it will be sometime next week. I did see on the Facebook page 18/19th had been accepted so fingers crossed!! Xxx

I'm the 13th of March I'm 16 weeks today and I've still herd nothing phoned a week past Friday and she told me another week yet I've still herd nothing , so frustrating my sons travel is costing me 80 a week at the minute
