Hi all,
Just following on from the previous thread - apologies if anyone else has already started one.
Sent our renewal claim in, scan date middle of May.
Phoned on Thursday and was told that our claim had been renewed on 18 August, awarded the same as previous - HRC and LRM. Such a relief for it to be all sorted out.

I have the same scan date!

LiveSimply · 26/10/2022 16:23

I just phoned them.
on hold for 1 hour!
when I finally got through he said they are currently working on claims up to scan date 26th July and my sons will be another 2-3 weeks (scan date 11.08)

chan7 · 26/10/2022 16:55

Nothing yet. I'll phone at the start of next week if I haven't heard anything by then.

chan7 · 26/10/2022 16:57

What is your scan date? I don't think anyones told me my date. I only know my application date

Pinkandpin · 26/10/2022 22:00

I phoned up about a renewal yesterday, they now aren't doing them until the date of the renewal. They told me I could phone on the afternoon of my renewal date for a decision. Not at all stressful 🤪

Evza · 27/10/2022 11:17

Do you receive a notification/text when they've received your child's form/it's been scanned. I sent my DD's at the end of Sept but haven't heard whether it's been received. Or is it a case of just sitting and waiting for them to make a decision.

georgiesmuma · 27/10/2022 12:19

i didn’t hear for weeks that it was received, but you can give them a call and they’ll tell you when you were scanned into the system

Roxmum14 · 27/10/2022 12:26

Defo ring them to chase it up in case they've not received it. I received a letter to say they had received my forms and that came about a week after they scanned my forms. From receiving the forms to scanning them it was a week and 2 days

chan7 · 29/10/2022 13:29

Does anyone know how long the process is for contacting camhs? I phoned the day and they said an email had been sent to camhs, so I'm just wondering what the process is now

Happymum788 · 31/10/2022 09:27

I rang today they are working on scan date 3rd august so it should be a week they said for 11th august scan date

Thank you for this.
I am the 11th. Very nervous!

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 01/11/2022 09:06

Our forms were scanned on the 27th July and we must have been awarded, as we had money from the DLA in our account this morning, so took just over 13 weeks total. I was convinced we wouldn't get it, so huge relief today. Good luck to anyone still waiting.

Shellbod81 · 01/11/2022 12:24

Hi all , has anyone with august scan dates had a decision yet? ….I’m august 4th the wait is so stressful x

chan7 · 01/11/2022 16:09

I phoned today and they said they were waiting on an independent case manager to get it, so it'll be another 2-3 for a decision. I'm so confused, as it was with a case manager for weeks. So stressful

Juddersee · 01/11/2022 17:44

Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone knows what the waiting time is in N.Ireland?

Tokamara · 01/11/2022 22:08

Hi if anyone is on Universal Credit does anyone one know once awarded DLA if UC will backdate the DLA element to the date it was awarded as in scan date? I’ve been paid the higher rate of DLA onto my Universal Credit for this month but wondered if they would back date the DLA element to when it was scanned and awarded. Many thanks 🙏🏽

LiveSimply · 02/11/2022 07:03

Hey guys,
does anyone know how the appeal process works?
if we get turned down, how long do we have to appeal (it will take some time to gather evidence etc.) and what is the waiting time to hear again? Is it 13 weeks?
Thanks so much!

Shellbod81 · 02/11/2022 07:57

@LiveSimply from what I’ve seen on these forums if it’s a decline you ask for a mandatory reconsideration (MR) at first , this is just where someone else will look at the claim first (2nd opinion really) …this is taking 4-5 weeks …then if it’s still a decline you go on to appeal which can take 6 months , fingers crossed dosnt come to that x

Happymum788 · 02/11/2022 10:10

You have to send mantory reconsideration within 4 weeks writing the reasons why you disagree with there decesion and give evidence so sometimes they change decesion with from the letter u send.and if that dosnt work then it goes to appeal

LiveSimply · 02/11/2022 17:25

I see!!!
thank you guys! I think I got mandatory reconsideration and appeal mixed up! Thank you so much! I have gathered a little bit more evidence now, so I can send that with the mandatory appeal. We have not even been turned down yet but I’m such a negative thinker!!!

Shellbod81 · 02/11/2022 17:47
