Hi all,
Just following on from the previous thread - apologies if anyone else has already started one.
Sent our renewal claim in, scan date middle of May.
Phoned on Thursday and was told that our claim had been renewed on 18 August, awarded the same as previous - HRC and LRM. Such a relief for it to be all sorted out.

I’ve received our letter today and we’ve been turned down too! Already written a letter asking them to look at it again. I’m shocked we didn’t even get the mobility component

I hope it goes well for every one. Keep us updated 😊

robynrose96 · 04/10/2022 18:48

Decision makers can take anywhere up to 5 days they told me. It’s such a long wait!!!

Tokamara · 06/10/2022 09:46

My scan date was 29th June I just rang at 9am got through straight away. Told it was still with a case worker since last Friday. I asked if they could look into when a decision would be made a few minutes later I was told it was being looked at now. Then 1/2 hr later just now I had a text to say it’s been awarded but it can take up to 2 weeks to get a letter until I know what level of DLA I have received. I was told to it can sit with case worker for a week and then if more info is needed could take longer.

LiveSimply · 06/10/2022 18:31

Scan date - 11th August.
received a letter today to inform me it’s still not been looked at 😫

I received my text last Friday, then payment on Wednesday.

For any new claims, I rang today and got a bit of information! I posted the forms on 20th September. They received them on the 28th, the lovely lady I spoke to today said she’d get the forms scanned onto their system so it will generate a letter for me and that she’d do that this afternoon. She said the wait is roughly 13 weeks in the queue after being scanned until it gets to the case manager. Good luck everyone 🤞🏻

robynrose96 · 11/10/2022 18:28

Hi everyone, found out yesterday that my little boy was awarded high rate care. My scan date was the 4th July.

longest wait in the world!! Good luck everyone x

LiveSimply · 19/10/2022 17:23

Does anyone know, if you are not awarded, how long you have to appeal to still get the payments backdated (that’s if you are awarded on appeal!)

chan7 · 24/10/2022 11:43

Hi I'm just looking for some advice, I applied for child disability payment on July 27th for my little girl who's 6 and awaiting on further assessment from cahms for ADHD I sent off the report and appointment letters, ect.. Any information I thought I was relevant. If I'm right in counting its 13 weeks on Wednesday and it's still waiting on a case worker to manage it. Has anyone else had the same issues? I'm thinking it's going to be rejected because I don't have a diagnosis but I'm not sure.

Roxmum14 · 24/10/2022 11:46

DLA goes by care needs not diagnosis

chan7 · 24/10/2022 11:49

Okay thank you. I wasn't sure if that made a stronger claim.

Roxmum14 · 24/10/2022 11:52

It might, but as long as you have lots of evidence for care needs that should be enough! 🤞🏻

Our date was the 18th... it has been with the decision maker since last wednesday with no updates.

It's a really long process and seems to have no rhyme or reason to the methods 😞

But it is not based upon diagnosis but needs which is good. 😀

chan7 · 24/10/2022 16:22

It is such a long process, especially if the claim is being rejected and obviously you don't know that until you've waited all that time. How do you appeal if the claim is rejected?

sof0301 · 24/10/2022 18:56

We got the text today...been awarded dla, don't know what rates.

Just over the moon to be honest. Had such a battle with school etc to see his needs it is just nice to know it's not just me and others can see it 💞💞💞
